Default A few pictures- Please Critique

Hey, since I just got a scanner, I figured I'd start posting in here, since no one at deviantart leaves any sort of critiques. The pictures are from a story of mine called Tragic Fairytale... these are all basic character designs.

This is a full-body sketch of the main character of the second story, Azraefel. The wings were the hardest to do, and they're the part that I'm proudest of. It took me almost three hours to draw in every single line.

This is a close-up of Azraefel's face. As you can see, I was still experimenting with a look for him, and this time I went for a softer, sadder look. Again, the hardest part was the wings, again taking me hours to do.

This last picture is of the main female character of the second story, Isode. She's an elf, but I didn't want to go the elf-in-chainmail-bustier route. Instead, I tried to design her costume to allow free, easy movement, without getting in her way.

Hey, that looks pretty nice! I like the detail and stuff you put into the characters. Are those all scars across Azraefel's chest? o.O And I like Isode, especially her costume desgin.

Critiques... hmm... I think you could work on expressions a bit more. If you want to really practice it you just draw a bunch of faces... from happy, crazy, sad, angry, really, really angry, shouting...etc. Doing this will not only get you better at drawing faces, but also help you learn how a face moves and how the features interract with eachother. I find reading manga to be incredibly helpful here, as it's easier to learn from a still drawing than a frozen anime frame.

    Good luck and have fun!

Wow Jennie you got better since I last saw your stuff ^v^ I really like how you drew Fellys chest in the first pic ^-~ lol
Lets see, a critique....well not really, but a tip, when you want to draw sad faces or really any face, a big part of it is the eyes. If you draw the eyes with the top part of the eye like a straight line, and a curve above it showing the normal shape of the eye, itll look like his eye is half closed and couple that with the bottom part of the eye the way you do it now itll look like hes troubled. Ill show you next time I see you if you want, and then you can teach me how to draw wings ^v~

Not bad, looks like it took you a long time. Critique: it would be better with finer lines, maybe pen it in.
