    Default moveset thread... v.2

blaziken, bulk up, sky uppercut/brick break, fire blast/overheat, rock slide/earthquake/etc. also endrever, makes a very good focus puncher as well, pretty good anti-standard pogey

swampert, curse, hp-rock, earthquake, rest, also good with moves like roar, ice beam, hp-elec, toxic & surf

sceptile, leaf blade, hp-fire/elec, dragon claw, protect/leech seed, also crunch is seen every now & then, earthquake, hp-flying, focus punch, protect/leaf blade/leech seed or some variation is nice, it can have 295 attack... people seem to ignore that

mightyena, uu, snatch, shadow ball, return, roar/thief, uu, only thing it has going for it is really intimidate... very limited movepool...

linoone, belly drum, return/extremespeed(386), hp-ground, shadow ball very good w/salac in 386

    beautifly, uu

    dustox, uu

ludicolo, some variation of toxic, leech seed, protect, rest w/surf/rain dance or ice beam occasionally, i used sunny day, solarbeam, ice beam, synthesis for fun once... i dont remember why though

shiftry, uu, sunny day, shadow ball, explosion, solarbeam... great exploder... extremely fast for an exploder with such nice attack

swellow, return, facade, hp-ground, quick attack/aerial ace, @ choice band, hp-flying is an option but some people op for ground, speedy choice bander w/guts/facade combo, very lovely if you can get it poisoned

pelipper, uu, protect, thief, toxic, surf is what i have seen work well, also ice beam can be of use, pelipper has some good defenses on it, and not a terrible s.a. either

gardevoir, calm mind, psychic, thunderbolt, hypnosis/shadow ball(anti-zam)/will-o-wisp/reflect... boring

masquerain, uu, stun spore, hydro pump, ice beam, whirlwind... limited movepool, uu

breloom, some variation of spore, leech seed, focus punch, sky uppercut/brick break, hp-ghost, protect, toxic, stun spore, mach punch, good movepool... useful guy

slaking, return, earthquake, focus punch, shadow ball, @ choice band some people use fblast for skarms (but why, magneton...) or counter for other slaks, return>hyper beam, because you can switch out after using return, which is very useful for not getting yourself killed or burned...

alakazam, psychic, calm mind, fire punch, hp-dark, also, recover, thunderpunch, ice punch, hp-water (386, houndooms...) & protect (people who f33r slaking too much)

ninjask, silver wind/hp-flying, swords dance, protect, baton pass... add a starf berry for some fun

shedinja, uu, shadow ball, swords dance, toxic, protect... nearly useless

exploud, uu, return, earthquake, shadow ball, fire blast, usually the target of a ninjask bp, w/some speed & a swords dance this guy can be very promising

hariyama, bulk up, cross chop/brick break, whirlwind/hp-ghost, rest, also counter, belly drum (usually w/a salac in 386) & earthquake are good

seaking, uu, rest, sleep talk, horn drill... is about seakings only advantage over the other million water pogeyz

gyarados, dragon dance, hp-rock/flying, earthquake, taunt, sometimes youll run into a s.a. gyarados... but there not very frightening... also might see w/roar or toxic

azumarill, belly drum, brick break, return/double-edge, hp-rock/ghost, very good bp target, good salacdrummer in 386, works well in conjunction w/wobbuffet, especially because huge power gives it potentially 438 attack, 1732 after drumming

golem, uu, quake, rock slide, double-edge, explosion, maybe block... best exploder in game, also a very good choicebander

nosepass, uu, use mrpass if you must, thunder-wave, block, explosion, rock slide

delcatty, uu, sing, substitute, baton pass, double-edge...

crobat, sludge bomb, shadow ball, hp-flying, haze/whirlwind/toxic... very fast, out-speeds timidzam & whatnot...

tentacruel, uu, sludge bomb, confuse ray, toxic, mirror coat... also surf/ice beam are useful, no more swords dance... cruelty, X( owns ludicolo to no end though

sableye, uu, recover, night shade, toxic, focus punch... very sexy since people have a tendency to bring out magneton to this little guy, who is ohkod... still weak & uu though

mawile, uu, another case of intimidate being its only useful quality, guess it could be used for some berry/swords dance passing...

aggron, hp-rock, focus punch, protect, earthquake... iron tail is acceptable in this case, good normal absorber, be wary of quake/brick break on the dudes... aggron is useful for laughing at explosion, makes a decent choice bander

machamp, cross chop, bulk up, rock slide, earthquake... another good choicebander... hp-ghost is used

medicham, hi jump kick, shadow ball, return, focus punch, also, hp-rock is seen, once again, a nice choice bander, bulk up has also been used, but i wouldnt recommend it too much

manectric, thunder/thunderbolt, crunch, hp-grass/water/ice, toxic(for the inevitable regice), actually not a bad guy, uu, raikou & jolteons lovechild

plusle, uu (wish, agility/substitute passing are some of plusle/minuns only decent abilities) their 2v2 abilities do not make up for much...

    minun, uu

magneton, thunderbolt, protect, toxic, hp-fire(386/other maggies)/grass/ice, it is best to use hp-fire in 386 for ohko on scizor/forretress, 70% to steelix, other maggies, because well... most dragon dancers youd hp-ice/bolt in 200, have 264 speed to out-speed jolteon/aerodactyl etc. after a dd...and timid maggy is only 262... obviously very useful as the undisputed champ of owning skarms... beware of duggies

electrode, uu, much better choices out there now

    volbeat, uu, tail glow passer

illumise, uu, doesnt give heracross much competition

vileplume, sunny day, solarbeam, hp-fire, aromatherapy/protect/sleep powder/synthesis.. chlorophyll brings new life to vileplume, not a bad aromatherapist either... swords dance is always an option, but people tend to op for the speed & other advantages it brings

bellossom, uu, sunny day, solarbeam, hp-fire, synthesis/sleep powder/protect, also magical leaf is an option if you dont want to take that route... vileplume has 20 more base s.a. swords dance is an option

dodrio, drill peck, return/tri-attack, hp-ground, quick attack @ CHOICE BAND... X)

roselia, uu, spikes, aromatherapy & natural cure, its movepool just tortures the fact that is has weak stats and bland type

swalot, uu, very underrated though, sludge bomb, ice beam (inevitable sal...), yawn, shadow ball/pain split, very very good movepool, body slam & encore may also be seen...

sharpedo, uu, another underrated guy, surf, crunch, hp-grass/elec, ice beam, also, hydro pump, earthquake, double-edge, hp-flying/rock has had a little success

wailord, curse, double-edge, earthquake, rest... or sleep talk in there, water veil is its silver lining...

    camerupt, uu, double-edge, earthquake, overheat/eruption/fire blast, protect/roar

magcargo, uu, magcargos a sexy *****, but no one ever uses him, ever... yawn, fire blast, light screen, protect would be an applicable set... he doesnt have too much going for him, but he is still sexy, 120 base def, 80 base s.a. he has his uses, also, flame body...

torkoal, uu, defense equal to skarms but torkoal has more hp, yawn, eruption, curse, sleep talk are some things torkoal has going for it...

muk, curse, sludge bomb, hp-ghost, fire blast/explosion, muk is sexy, but weezing oppresses with its handy dandy levitate

weezing, haze, will-o-wisp, rest/explosion, sludge bomb/thunder/fire blast, not bad s.a. people always tend to just use that, good anti-hera, good anti-curser, rest is not used on him much but should be, shadow ball is an option but not as good as it would seem

grumpig, psychic, calm mind, hp-fire/doodle, substitute... also seen with moves like confuse ray & the very rare but still existant trick...

sandslash, swords dance, hp-rock(if sd)/rock slide, earthquake, focus punch, also, counter can be sexy in some cases, people tend to be attack when you sd...

    spinda, uu, stoned

flygon, earthquake, hp-rock, return, quick attack (for choice band set, which it does very well) if not, you may want fire blast, or dragon claw... to be boring

skarmory, some form of spikes, toxic, protect, torment, rest, roar, drill peck & stall

cacturne, uu, focus punch/counter are sexy on this duder... often seen with his buddy spikes

altaria, haze, rest, dragon claw, fire blast, also sing, dragon dance, quake, hp-flying is quite sexy

zangoose, swords dance, return, quick attack, hp-ground/brick break/shadow ball his 15 minutes are long gone, still a little useful though... counter could... work

seviper, flamethrower, sludge bomb, earthquake, snatch/return, high attack & s.a. (100 base) flamethrower is a good attribute of its, as is shed skin... not quite defensive enough to pull off resting though & i dont care what anybody says, poison fang is poopy

lunatone, hypnosis/explosion, calm mind, psychic, ice beam... not bad at all...

solrock, rock slide, explosion, earthquake, overheat, it makes a very unexpected sexy choicebander... people tend to think its very slow too, when in fact it has 70 base speed...

whiscash, uu... it has nothing over swampert...

crawdaunt, uu, very underrated duder... swords dance, hp-ghost, return, crabhammer... it has a limited movepool, but overall it is not bad at all, you should use one [/shamelessplug]

claydol, some form of light screen, reflect, explosion, rest, toxic & earthquake... hello im the only supporting rock/ground resister guy

cradily, rock slide, earthquake, toxic, rest/recover... also amnesia could be useful in 386, as well as mirror coat... tankish, lacks attacking ability, an obvious choice for a bp target, i recommended rest because it can survive it, and it seems to always end up being poisoned...

armaldo, swords dance, rock blast, earthquake, hp-bug/knock off, (y)

wigglytuff, uu, reflect, light screen, body slam, wish... support++

milotic, recover, surf, refresh, toxic, also hp-elec, rest over recover & mirror coat

castform, uu, rain dance, weather ball, thunder, protect or sunny day, weather ball, solarbeam, protect...

starmie, some sort of recover, surf, psychic, ice beam, thunderbolt, light screen, reflect... sometimes people use cosmic power & rapid spin, but they eventually realize theres better uses

kecleon, uu, return, focus punch/substitute, shadow ball, snatch... trick can be used every now and then but it does tend to lure phys attackers, high s.d. be wary of color change being used against you

bannette, snatch, shadow ball, return, will-o-wisp... sexy...

dusclops, some form of will-o-wisp, toxic, pain split, protect, confuse ray, curse, mean look, night shade & always rest... a very good tank, although i tend to enjoy using will-o-wisp, shadow ball, focus punch, rest... by putting only 20 eps into attack it ohkos zam w/shadow ball guaranteed, and makes a very well counter for some duders... ice beam can also give sal a tough time... also, i mustnt forget calm mind clops (tends to be calm mind, will-o-wisp, rest, ice beam/psychic)

tropius, uu, magical leaf, leech seed, protect, hp-fire/elec... someone recommended growth once,

chimecho, uu, hypnosis, reflect, psychic, heal bell

absol, swords dance, shadow ball, return/double-edge/fire blast, taunt/baton pass... also calm mind abuser set can be quite sexy... ice beam, thunderbolt, flamethrower, faint attack, etc.

    ninetales, uu, will-o-wisp, flamethrower, hp-grass, confuse ray/protect/hypnosis

raichu, uu, protect, encore, focus punch, thunder

golduck, uu, calm mind, surf, ice beam, psychic... cross chop is also a viable option...

wobbuffet, encore, counter, mirror coat, safeguard, works well in conjunction with slaking/linoone & dugtrio/charizard(386) very well

xatu, uu, wish, light screen, psychic, confuse ray... with some luck...

girafarig, calm mind, psychic, crunch/thunderbolt, baton pass... can pull off early bird resting if you use a 'tough' girafarig (calm mind, rest, psychic, baton pass), otherwise nope

donphan, body slam, earthquake, counter, ancientpower/hp-rock/toxic/rapid spin

pinsir, uu, swords dance, earthquake, hp-rock, brick break/return/focus punch

heracross, megahorn, earthquake, hp-rock, brick break... @ choice band, be wary of endrever if it starts bulk upping...

rhydon, megahorn, double-edge, rock slide, earthquake, also counter, swords dance & it makes a decent enough choice bander

glalie, uu (ty regice) sheer cold/ice beam, spikes, protect, light screen

walrein, ice beam, surf, toxic, rest, also a good yawn user, and ive seen curse, rock slide, earthquake, rest w/an ice beam here & there used quite effectively

huntail uu, tends to use body slam, confuse ray, and barrier passing...

gorebyss, agility, baton pass, ice beam, surf, also, confuse ray, psychic & occasionally amnesia/iron defense

relicanth, uu, but underrated, rock slide, earthquake, rest, sleep talk, also double-edge is a choice

corsola, uu, good movepool... natural cure, calm mind & recover are some stuff it brings to the table

lanturn, toxic, rest, thunderbolt, surf, also parafusion, ice beam & dont forget volt absorb (resists boltbeam)

luvdisc, uu, rain dance, surf, ice beam, toxic... f33r

kingdra, rain dance, surf, ice beam/dragonbreath, rest... lost sleep talk, gained swift swim...

salamence, dragon dance, hp-flying/rock, earthquake, fire blast, special sal is also a threat... dragon claw, flamethrower, hp-elec/hydro pump, toxic/crunch, so is gpsal, dragon dance, hp-flying, fire blast, dragon claw (has a little bit more staying power then common sal, tends to have around 310 attack & s.a., 264/249 speed, and some decent hp)

metagross, meteor mash, earthquake, hp-rock, sludge bomb/light screen/agility/toxic/hp-fire/elec/shadow ball/iron defense... most people tend to use agilitygross... if your using it as a starter, id recommend toxic... for the simple fact of owning wobbs, but then the inevitable encore to maggy... (agility only slightly helps in these scenarios)

regirock, curse, hp-rock/ancientpower, earthquake, explosion/rest... sometimes focus punch... rare at best

regice, toxic, ice beam, thunderbolt/thunder, rest... curseice can be quite sexy... curse, earthquake, ice beam, rest/explosion...

registeel, curse, hp-rock/return, earthquake, explosion/rest... great tank, toxic is good, as is thunder (gyarados that think they can get something over on you w/taunt)

lati@s, calm mind, recover, dragon claw, thunderbolt/psychic/surf... also roar... if your opponent is using one of these, odds say they need to, 8( should be banned

kyogre, calm mind, ice beam, surf, thunder

groudon, bulk up, eruption, earthquake, hp-rock

rayquaza, bulk up/dragon dance, extremespeed, hp-flying, earthquake

jirachi, some variation of cosmic power, calm mind, doom desire, wish, psychic, thunderbolt & double-edge

deoxys, some all out attacking set, 8( take your pick

venusaur, uu, curse, sludge bomb, earthquake, rest/synthesis, also charm, leech seed, sleep powder, light screen, razor leaf (of course) & whatnot... (usually the curse set, or something like sleep powder, leech seed, razor leaf, charm/light screen)

charizard, belly drum, hp-flying, earthquake, overheat/fire blast, you could also use dragon dance, or swords dance... but why...

blastoise, surf, blank, blank, blank, blank = rapid spin, rest, mirror coat, haze/roar, ice beam & earthquake, primarily a support duder... fairly average attacker

butterfree, uu, best doublepowder duder ever... 97.5% sleep powder/stun spore accuracy, anyways, sleep powder, stun spore, thief, whirlwind/whatever (262 max speed...) so its not that bad... definitely SHOULD get some uu play

beedrill, uu, lost swords dance & all hope of every being used again

pidgeot, uu, why bother, you have dugtrio... or even fearow

raticate, super fang, counter, return, shadow ball (maybe put quick attack in there...) alot of people will say to use choice band... bleh, super fang kind of negates using that... but whatever... still has sex appeal, like butterfree, :*

fearow, aka dodrios beta male... inferior to it in every way... but same type of set, drill peck, return, quick attack, hp-ground/blah @ choice band

arbok, 2 sexy abilities, shed skin, or intimidate... it cant shedrest... not enough staying power... anywhos, i suggest something like sludge bomb, earthquake, glare, frustration/snatch/iron tail/whatever

nidoqueen, sludge bomb, earthquake, shadow ball, counter, charm, ice beam, thunderbolt, fire blast/flamethrower, focus punch... etc. (most likely sludge bomb, earthquake, fire blast, focus punch/counter/filler)

    nidoking, im with her

clefable, BELLYMASH... no, ummm... some form of wish/moonlight, encore, toxic, substitute, light screen, return, fire blast, belly drum (wish/drum is not legal), meteor mash, thunderbolt, ice beam, calm mind... lots of stuff, lots of variations, hopefully you can make at least 3 moveset roles for him...

parasect, spore, aromatherapy/filler, giga drain/hp-bug, stun spore/counter... 4x ground resistance comes in handy... but being weak to rock tends to negate it somewhat... heh, i wub parasect, but realistically theres better options

    venomoth, uu... dont

dugtrio, earthquake, rock slide, hp-flying, toxic/blah @ choice band/soft sand people will try and trick zards who think they have choice band, after owning some magneton or something... and fail do to soft sand... (which is still a reliable ohko on raikou) anywhos, becomes a very real threat if you did not realize it has arena trap, owned by p2...

    persian, uu... fastest sleep inducer

primeape, cross chop, earthquake, rock slide, hp-ghost @ choice band... 317 speed/vital spirit (eat it sporegle)... nice

arcanine... while i would recommend toxic, fire blast, hp-grass, extremespeed... alot of people tend to use howl, extremespeed, hp-blah, overheat/etc. which makes me sad... oh well, relatively poor movepool, good stats...

poliwrath, BELLYWRATH, belly drum, brick break, return, earthquake (some prefer hp-rock over quake or even brick break...) water absorb gives it the potential to drum twice if a certain skarmory ruins your fun... if youve battled my uu team you have probably seen its potential, anyways... even at max speed timid jolt/jolly aero is still faster (after salac... it is 2 less then the requirement to pass thm with salac...)

victreebel, swords dance, sludge bomb, return/hp-whatever, sleep powder/synthesis/leech seed/etc. also the sunnybeam set works ok w/victreebel as well, its faster (less into speed for precious chlorophyl/198 combo...) & same s.a. as vileplume... ahh well... also can encore, and stuff...

rapidash, uu, fire blast/overheat, hypnosis, charm, double-edge

slowbro, tends to have calm mind, psychic/x, surf/x, rest... x = fire blast, flamethrower, ice beam, focus punch (regice/blissey) or you know, you could be original and use a set abusing curse, it does learn quake and other goodies...

    farfetch'd, uu

dewgong, uu, one could use horn drill/sheer cold, one could just as well use perish song (to wobbuffet) but generally your gonna be looking at toxic, surf, ice beam, rest

cloyster, spikes, rapid spin, toxic/torment(pointless... but people still use it...), surf/ice beam... i prefer surf... anyways, isnt hassled by any magnet pull, so imo, the best spikespinner in the game... it did lose explosion, but heh, it still holds its own... reliable defense to spikespin... sexy... shame more people dont use cloyster

gengar, special = psychic, thunderbolt, will-o-wisp/giga drain(lame)/focus punch(blissey), explosion/destiny bond(lame) physical = sludge bomb, shadow ball, will-o-wisp/focus punch, explosion... sometimes bolt... people underestimate physgar, keep in mind 250 attack w/stab does only 4 avg dmg less then 394 s.a. w/out stab... and you have the ever sexy explosion, and the unexpectedness that comes with... gengar is very popular, it has levitate now... but it poses no serious threat, people seem to ignore the fact that most of the things people use to counter it are owned by focus punch... (snorlax, blissey, regice...)

    hypno, uu... not sexy

kingler, uu, swords dance, return, crabhammer, mud shot... could also knock off... tis a shame kingler/crawdaunt dont have better movepools, it would be their tragic flaw

exeggutor, uu, sunny day, solarbeam, hp-fire/psychic, sleep powder... very sexy

marowak, earthquake, rock slide, double-edge, swords dance/focus punch... still kicking...

hitmonlee, uu, bulk up, brick break/hi jump kick, hp-ghost/earthquake, mach punch/rapid spin/counter (the biggest difference between the three is their personalities, and their slightly changing defenses... all have mediocre good speed... lee has limber, chan has keen eye, top has intimidate... lee has worst def, chan is middle, top has best, they all have superb s.d. lee has best attack, then chan, then top... thats about the biggest differences)

    hitmonchan, uu, see above

    hitmontop, uu, see above above

    lickitung, uu, good movepool tho

tangela, uu, sleep powder, giga drain, reflect/amnesia, leech seed, could also go for sunnybeam set... but theres better options for the chlorophyll abuser

kangaskhan, uu, return, toxic, shadow ball, rest... (is what i used... pretty sexy, early bird, pulls it off allright) a nice BP target in a sense...

mr. mime, calm mind, psychic, thunderbolt/substitute, baton pass... sadly i wouldnt consider it uu... encore strategist...

scyther, uu, endrever has been used... but people tend to use swords dance, baton pass, silver wind, hp-flying

jynx, lovely kiss, calm mind, ice beam, psychic... sometimes carries shadow ball...

electabuzz, uu, cross chop, ice punch, thunderbolt, light screen/toxic/filler... whatever you use for the last slot, you probably wont end up using

magmar, uu, why cant he learn overheat? i dunno, cross chop, fire blast/flamethrower, hp-ice (salamence tend to enjoy his company...), thunderpunch... relatively poor movepool... could also use confuse ray...

tauros, return, earthquake, hp-ghost, fire blast/facade/iron tail @ choice band

lapras, uu, ice beam, thunderbolt, surf, rest... also sleep talk, dragon dance/return, sheer cold, perish song, lapras is very versatile, and sexy as ever...

    ditto, uu, TRANSFORM

vaporeon, surf, ice beam, haze, rest... also wish/toxic, occasionally acid armor...

jolteon, thunder/thunderbolt, hp-ice, filler, filler, fillers could be wish, protect, toxic, agility/baton pass... doesnt really matter, has a reliable ohko on dugtrio w/nevermeltice (if hp-ice obviously...) w/timid, and is faster, also, use (31,30,30,31,31,31) if your gonna use hp-ice and wanna compete with aerodactyls...

flareon, uu, overheat, return, shadow ball, toxic/curse

omastar, rain dance, surf, ice beam, spikes/filler... very sexy if i may say so myself, and i can

kabutops, uu, no more swords dance, X(... ancientpower, toxic, protect, confuse ray/knock off

aerodactyl, hp-flying, ancientpower, earthquake, iron tail/return @ choice band... people use hp-flying over hp-rock, because you can have max spd w/hp-flying (30,30,30,31,30,30) this way both jolteon & aero have max spd, and both ohko one another, how sweet... although i personally dont like to use jolly aerodactyl, it is the only way it can 50/50 with jolteon, i tend to use adamant, i have no trouble counterring jolteon

snorlax, curse, return/double-edge, rest, fire blast/earthquake/brick break/shadow ball... blah

articuno, uu, ice beam, reflect, roar, toxic... supporter

zapdos, thunder, rain dance, hp-water, light screen/protect/thunder-wave/toxic... or bolt, hp-ice, filler filler

moltres, sunny day, fire blast, overheat, hp-grass... poor poor movepool...

dragonite, while i would recommend dragon dance, earthquake, ice beam, thunderbolt... others would recommend a dragon dance set (dragon dance, earthquake, hp-flying, ice beam/filler) or to go all special ice beam, thunderbolt, dragon claw, thunder-wave... he can still haze, but never will... oh well... works ok as an anti-gyara/sal

mewtwo, calm mind, psychic, ice beam, recover... who cares

    mew, who cares

meganium, leech seed, razor leaf, synthesis, protect/toxic, pretty good supporter, can also light screen/reflect & use counter

typhlosion, uu, hi my name is forgotten

feraligatr, uu, focus punch, earthquake, hydro pump, rock slide... it lost curse, i am sad

    furret, uu

    noctowl, uu

    ledian, uu (worst pogey ever)

ariados, uu, sludge bomb, signal beam, night shade, thief (sludge bomb/signal beam = all it has going for it)

togetic, uu, why couldnt it abuse serene grace

ampharos, uu, focus punch, thunderbolt, hp-grass, reflect/toxic/thunder-wave

sudowoodo, uu, i employ anti-standard toxicblock sudowoodo... (toxic, block, rest, rock slide...) with some lucky flinching it is very anti-annoyer

    politoed, uu, wrath is sexier

jumpluff, encore, leech seed, sleep powder, giga drain/reflect... very sexy, more people should use this duder

aipom, uu it should have some signature move like... hand-tail *****-slap

    sunflora, uu

yanma, uu, too bad it cant baton pass speed boost... if you wanna use it... signal beam, hp-flying, return, reversal, could possibly be useful with some attack passed to it...

quagsire, curse, toxic, earthquake, rest... water absorb abuse, also yawn/focus punch combo is pretty sexy

espeon, calm mind, psychic, baton pass, reflect/hp-fire/elec/water/blah pretty sexy... people will run into some trouble taking it doen because it is a more defensive zam, and most people use their zam counter to beat espeon, except they rely on a little less defense, and sometimes it gives you the edge... play wisely

umbreon, mean look, rest, baton pass, toxic/taunt/curse/charm same boring umbreon

    murkrow, uu...

    slowking, uu, see slowbro

misdreavus, uu, mean look, perish song, protect, hypnosis/torment/imprison/destiny bond/pain split/taunt... people will just end up using hypnosis, or pain split (eps help considerabley) or possibly imprison for an anti-missy missy, except i doubt it would work too well on anyone with a brain

unown, uu, hidden power, man, that was as hard as coming up with a set for ditto

forretress, spikes, rapid spin, earthquake, light screen i recommend this because hp-fire magneton owns it... light screen on switch is better thens couting for quake as it is supportive, it does however delay spiking a bit, if you dont wanna use it and quake blindly, possibly be outpredicted and end up wasting a turn & whatnot, you could also use toxic, counter, reflect or explosion...

dunsparce, uu, glare/secret power, headbutt, ancientpower, ice beam... you might end up using secret power & rock slide, over headbutt/glare or whatever, choices are obvious, abuse serene grace as much as possible

gligar, uu, hp-flying, earthquake, toxic, counter

steelix, uu, explosion, toxic, roar, earthquake... could also use rock slide, block, taunt & double-edge

granbull, uu, bulk up, return, brick break/shadow ball, earthquake/overheat

qwilfish, uu, sludge bomb, shadow ball, spikes, hydro pump

scizor, swords dance/agility, baton pass, silver wind, return...

shuckle, toxic, sandstorm, rest, wrap... or you could use encore/bide/wrap, or just encore... whatever

sneasel, uu, brick break/hp-ground/quick attack, return, shadow ball, focus punch @ choice band... otherwise it still sucks

ursaring, return, earthquake, hp-ghost, focus punch @ choice band... or bulk up w/out it...

piloswine, uu, earthquake, blizzard, double-edge, reflect/light screen... no more curse, 8(

octillery, good bp target cause of suction cups... movesets tend to look like surf, ice beam, flamethrower, return... people ignore thunder-wave, but whatever...

delibird, uu, arial ace @ choice band (hustle abuser...)

mantine, toxic, haze, surf, ice beam/confuse ray

houndoom, fire blast/flamethrower, crunch, pursuit, hp-water... is the set i would recommend, i used houndoom for a while... people tend to use sets with will-o-wisp though... id just as soon use counter

porygon2, ice beam, thunderbolt, toxic, recover... goodbye dugtrio/wobbuffet, you have been tracerfied

stantler, uu, a promising psych up duder... especially w/hypnosis... 2v2 possibilities

smeargle, spore, belly drum, baton pass, taunt/whirlwind/recover/return @ salac berry... be afraid

miltank, milk drink, heal bell, seismic toss/curse/focus punch/shadow ball, return

blissey, heal bell, toxic, ice beam, softboiled... also has been seen using light screen, and thunderbolt, as well as aromatherapy (if it uses this your opponent most likly has someone w/sound proof on their team... i.e. exploud, mr. mime or electrode...) & occasionally snatch (to steal your last minute rest while you die from toxic...)

raikou, calm mind, thunderbolt, crunch, rest @ chesto... works fairly well, of course you could just put hp-ice/grass/water over rest...

    entei, uu...

suicune, gmcune = surf, calm mind, roar, rest (works well with spikes support...) toxic, mirror coat & ice beam are also ok... also notable, is salacune (another one of my inventions) calm mind, surf, ice beam, hp-elec (gets 264 speed, 300+ s.a. while sustaining good hp & 264 defenses... allowing for more of a set-up... kind of a, when it rains it pours type deal

tyranitar, rock slide, earthquake, dragon dance, taunt/rest/hp-flying/ice beam

lugia, aeroblast, shadow ball, earthquake, ancientpower @ choice band... sexy, yes?

ho-oh, calm mind, sacred fire, thunderbolt, psychic/whatever

celebi, ummm, still lame... can calm mind pass... could come in handy, same ol, heal bell, leech seed, recover, blahdoodley set as before...

    Go Jumpluff!!

While I would prefer to be able to use Lickitung, there's nothing that this guy can do that Snorlax can't do better at the same speed. Plus Snorlax has the advantage of my favorite Yawn/ Focus Punch Combo (this works well with Block or without). Even with Sleep Clause you should still be able to pull off two good Focus Punches if not more.

Hitmontop with Bulk Up & it's high special defense (even with low HP) is overlooked too often.

I also like the Wish/ Protect/ Toxic combo on Clefable (but that's me).

yes, i did leave out some movesets, that is only because in all seriousness, they have nothing over there relative competition... (i.e. why beutifly when you can scyther...) only in the extreme cases... like if they had one advantage over someone else there included...

also, i appreciate you reading it

Happy to read it. Good stuff... keeps those of us who follow the Metagame, but don't play updated to the most current happenings. So thank you for writing it.

P.S. - Thanks for saying nice things about Jumpluff too!

Just wondering what would be better for a Hitmonchan; jolly nature (max speed) with bulk up, or adamant nature with agility? I do plan to use a chan, my favorite Pokemon, one day. I am leaning towards the jolly one with bulk up. Other moves would be run of the mill, brick break, EQ, HP ghost.

*reads about Ledian* aww, poor thing... you'd think they give something with fighter glove hands a good attack stat.

Very good stuff, but I have to ask you:

    1. Where's grumpig?

    2. Why not overheat on magcargo?

Why in the world have you put Crabhammer on Crawdaunt? It has less BP AND lower accuracy than Surf. The only reason I can see using it is the Critical Hit ratio, which doesn't matter much when you miss all the time anyway.

grumpig ? he should be in there

edit: i did leave him out... odd, ty for noticing

overheat on magcargo ? he tends to abuse fire blast a little better, as occasionally he will need to use it multiple turns while out, well more then occasionally

crabhammer ? its not a whole lot less bp, and they will rarely be using it anyways, and if they do, the ch rates come in handy over the otherwise routinely crappy dmg they would do (as they are very well aimed phys, but have poor movepools)

I couldn't find grumpig when I ran a search, and he's not between weezing and sandslash (where he is in the pokedex).

i wouldn't put any Special Attacks on Crawdaunt anyway, his SP Attack Stat isn't very good. I'd rather load him with some Physical Attacking moves, his attack is good.

crawdaunt has no other physical moves... and youd only be using crabhammer if say... golem was out... as there is little reason to use it, but there is little reason to use something over it...

Aerial Ace wouldn't be bad on Crawdaunt... covers its physical weaknesses. the only problem is 60 BP. sludge bomb would probably be the other decent option, which could take care of grasses. it's only other two physical attacks are AP and brick break. it would be nice for water support, but AA/SB w/ its attack and SD boosting potential is better IMO compared to Crabhammer/Surf and a severely butchered special attack.

Just one question, what does UU mean,
first i thought it meant UnUsable but then you called Manectrike UU and i was like WHOA no way hes Unusable so could you please tell me what it means, or if it means Unusable why would Manektrike be that.

I'll probably post a more detailed response to this list later. For the moment, I'd like to give props to GM for putting together this huge list and keeping the quality up.

    One note, though...

butterfree, uu, best doublepowder duder ever... 97.5 (i believe even though mathematically compoundeyes + normal accuracy is 105... rsbot math-wise, it is not... anyways, sleep powder, stun spore, thief, whirlwind/whatever (262 max speed...) so its not that bad... definitely SHOULD get some uu play

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the RSBot has the math right. As I recall, Compoundeyes doesn't increase the accuracy by 30%, but rather increases it by 30% of the normal. Rather than giving the accuracy +30, it gives it +30%. 75*1.3=97.5% accuracy. 105% accuracy would be dumb- the game couldn't handle it, so I doubt that's how it would be programmed.

GD: if the base accuracy is 77%+, then increasing it by 30% would put it over 100%

i think if the base accuracy is 77%+, it probably has 99.4% accuracy, and they wouldn't put it over 100%.

the other possibility could be that the 30% means that there's a 30% less chance of missing

    75% accuracy = 25% chance of missing
    .25 * .3 = .075
    .075 + .75 = 82.5% acc w/ compound eyes
that would make compound eyes seem insignificant though

    Default moveset thread... v.2

I'd also like to make a note that Swords Dance Vileplume is illegal in both 200 and 386 play, since there is no possible breeding chain to breed it on - the only other Pokémon in its group that learns Swords Dance is Victreebel, who also has to breed for it but can't breed with anybody else who knows Swords Dance.

  22. #22

    Default moveset thread... v.2

GD: if the base accuracy is 77%+, then increasing it by 30% would put it over 100%

Stun Spore/Sleep Powder are 75%, so they don't quite make it.

i think if the base accuracy is 77%+, it probably has 99.4% accuracy, and they wouldn't put it over 100%.

Why would it reduce accuracy to 99.4% when they could keep it at 100%?

the other possibility could be that the 30% means that there's a 30% less chance of missing

    75% accuracy = 25% chance of missing
    .25 * .3 = .075
    .075 + .75 = 82.5% acc w/ compound eyes
that would make compound eyes seem insignificant though

That just seems illogical. *1.3% accuracy will lead to fewer moves hitting the accuracy cap than +30%, though I don't know whether they'd care. Still, 1.3% leads to less brokenness and I find it more logical than any of the alternatives.

Question: does anybody know how the interaction between Compoundeyes and evade increases works? Does it still increase your chances of hitting? It seems like it should, but a lot of things go counterintuitively.

    No Sword's Dance on Kabutops?!

    WHY?!?

    Edited for more drama

  25. #25

I'd say the fact that Kabutops is no longer capable of obtaining Swords Dance is a pretty good reason.

That was, in fact, what I was complaining about... My bad for not being more explicit -_-'
Sword's Dance just always seemed such an appropriate move for Kabutops, and hella useful in game terms; Kabutops just seems wrong without it.

kabutops will never have the glory that was once fleeted in GSC. to that effect, the pokedex that i've used to try and find a way to get swords dance on armaldo also has no viable way of legaly getting swords dance on him either. this is very dissapointing since he should be sleeping around with scythers and pinsirs, he is a bug now isn't he?

you're right, that's also because the pokedex im using is missing parts for certain pokemon. the breeding information doesn't contain any of the water3 pokemon that anorith can breed with, so i wouldn't have known.

hmm, what is the breeding chain that makes Double-Edge + Curse legal on Wailord in 200?

Also, Rhydon cannot learn Double-Edge. The best self-inflicting damage attack it can learn is Take Down in R/S.

If I am not mistaken there is no legal breeding chain in 200. You can only breed both moves legally on Wailmer with a Smeargle in 386.
