Default TheBlueAvenger versus Knight of Time! (Ref: Wolfsong)

Okay, I have a free spot, so I think I'll start another battle!

    Rules:
DQ: 1 week (ref and battlers)
Banned Moves: Recovery (ie Moonlight, not like Giga Drain), Substitute, Attract
Pokemon: 2 Pokemon per trainer, all out at once.
Damage Setting: Sudden Death (In an effort to move things along, all Pokemon will take double damage from attacks, including things like poison and burn.)
Arena: The Glitz Pit. The Pokemon do battle on a stage in front of a giant TV screen that shows up close their every move. A huge audience watches the battles, and will sometimes throw things on stage that could be beneficial or could hurt (Berries, trash, etc.) Other than that, there are no surprises. Initially, moves involving a body of water will fail, but if the stage is broken through, pipes will burst and a pool of water will begin to fill up. Also, ground shaking moves are permitted. Also, due to the fact that the Pit is inside a building, weather moves will be ineffective.

I'll send out Pokemon first, and you'll attack first. For this battle, I will use Arven, my female Clefairy, and Sedgewick, my shiny male Koffing.

    Any takers?

I'll gladly take you on Jeff.

    Go, Chansey and Sabre!

Chansey is obviously my female Chansey, and Sabre is my male Absol.

I'll get my moves in later.

    Edit: Okay, time to begin.

Sabre, immediately start off by Taunting your two opponents simultaneously. Just like your partner was able to pull of a Taunt of both opponents in our last double battle, you should be able to do it. Then, we need to focus on Clefairy. Toxic her, then give her a good Slash with your head scythe if you can, otherwise, get her with one of your razor sharp claws.

Chansey, start off your part of the battle by making a few clones of yourself with a Double Team to surround Arven and Sedgewick. Then, if Toxic fails to get Clefairy, Toxic her yourself, otherwise, cripple her with a Thunder Wave. Finish by squeezing Sedgewick with a Psychic.

Sedgewick, I want you to Taunt your foes, both of them, as well. That should shut down some of their attacks this round. Next, send a Sludge Bomb at Sabre, then one at Chansey.

Taunt (both) ~ Sludge Bomb (Sabre) ~ Sludge Bomb (Chansey)

Arven, let's start this off right. Let's begin by using Calm Mind to ignore the Taunts being thrown at you. Then, if you're unaffected by Taunt, use a Cosmic Power; otherwise, try and hit Chansey with an Ice Punch. Finally, when Sabre comes in to attack you, nail him with a Meteor Mash.

I've been asked to ref this and i'll accept it. Just bear in mind some time it takes me longer to ref than others depending on the amount of homework i have due. However, I'll try not to have a super long amount of time between reffings. I'll try to get a reffing up soon, but i have one more battle i'm reffing as well. ^^

Sorry about the lateness but for some reason, I just couldn’t get started. ^^; Also bear in mind the double damage stuff is something I’m not used too ^^; As for as poisoning go, I normally start at 1% with toxic and double it each round so that’s why its at 2% this round and doubling and as for as regular poisoning, its usually 2% but for this battle its 4% the entire way x.x;; Hope that this is ok, sorry about taking forever.

Would either of you mind if i set a damage cap of between 40-45%? I just feel that its too much damage coming in with double damage to not have a damage cap?.

A dull chatter erupted through the arena as the crowd was waiting for the participants of today’s events to arrive. The screen of huge television was blank as someone’s mind when a teacher asks them a question out of the blue. Just about the time that the crowd was beginning to get restless there was a flurry of action on stage. As the trainers arrived, the screen blinked to life showing a close up of each of the participants. The first trainer, TheBlueAvenger, stepped forward and released his two pokemon. Out of the brilliant ruby red flashes of light emerged a cute and lively little clefairy and a shiny and not to pleasant smelling koffing. The crowd began cheering wildly again while a select few held their noses. Now it was time for the Knight of Time to send out his chosen pokemon for this magnificent battle. After thinking for a few minutes, he promptly plucked two pokeballs off of his belt. Soon, the cheery nurse pokemon, Chansey, appeared followed seconds later by the silent, dark absol. The trainers waited for the cheering to subside before they issued their attacks.

    TheBlueAvenger Vs. Knight of Time

Arven the female : 100% Ready to battle

    &

Sedgewick the shiny male : 100% Ready to battle

    Vs.

Chansey the female : 100% Ready to battle

    &

Sabre the male : 100% Ready to battle

    The attacks are issued:

Knight of Time: Sabre, immediately start off by Taunting your two opponents simultaneously.

TheBlueAvenger: Sedgewick, I want you to Taunt your foes, both of them, as well. That should shut down some of their attacks this round. Next, send a Sludge Bomb at Sabre, then one at Chansey.

On the giant screen there was a close up of each trainer and then his pokemon. It wasn’t until each pokemon nodded showing that they fully understood their orders before the image scaled back enough to show all four pokemon. At first it looked as if none of them were doing anything. Then, just as Arven had closed her eyes, Sabre began to taunt both Sedgewick and Arven at the exact same moment that Sedgewick began taunting both him and Chansey. At first Arven tried to use calm mind but as Sabre’s taunts reached her ears she found she could no longer concentrate. Just as Arven was unable to focus using calm mind because of the taunts, the same held true for Chansey and her double team. She just stood there rooted in place glaring angrily at Sedgewick. Chansey was going to make sure that he paid dearly for his insults. The crowd booed because nothing much happened after the first round of attacks.

Arven, still somewhat stung by the taunts ran over to Chansey and punched her with a fist that was encased in ice. Sabre quickly spit a glob of toxic purple goop all over Arven before she had a chance to move away. Chansey gasped from the cold but found that she too was still under the effects of the taunt and found that she was still too upset to use thunder wave. Sedgewick inhaled deeply while he floated to where he could easily target Sabre. Once he had a clear shot, he spit a glob of black liquid out of his smoke holes and it landed on Sabre’s back and splattered all over his fur.

Meanwhile Arven had been busy concentrating on coating her fist with a powerful layer of metallic energy, and now she was finally able to attack the one that had insulted her so. Arven waited patiently as Sabre came charging at her and as soon as she raked his claws across her she slammed the fist that was covered in steel energy into the absol’s chest, wisely avoiding the area where the sludge bomb remnants lingered. Meanwhile, Sedgewick had turned his attention to chansey and he quickly spit a glob of the same black liquid all over her. As soon as the attack hit, Chansey blanched a little bit as she became poisoned. However, she didn’t let that stop her. Chansey’s eyes narrowed, as they began to glow an eerie violet color and Sedgewick felt as if he were being squeezed from every direction until at last the pain stopped. Meanwhile, Arven gasped as she began to feel the effects from the toxins. As the round comes to a close, the crowd cheers excitedly becuase they know that it is going to be an interesting match.

Arven the female : 84% badly poisoned (4% next time) no longer affected by taunt

    &

Sedgewick the shiny male : 64% relieved that the psychic attack is over no longer affected by taunt

    Vs.

Chansey the female : 60% poisoned (4% every round) no longer affected by taunt

    &

Sabre the male : 60% annoyed no longer affected by taunt

40% damage cap is okay with me. Thanks again for reffing.

Okay, Sedgewick, this round, we're gonna make things interesting. Try and bowl over your opponents with a Rollout! Just go for whichever happens to be closest.

    Rollout x3 (closest foe)

Arven, start off with a Cosmic Power. Then, bring out some clones with Double Team. Finally, let's have some fun - Metronome at whichever foe Sedgewick isn't rolling at. However, should Rain Dance be used, replace Double Team and Metronome with a Thunder towards whichever foe Sedgewick isn't attacking.

Cosmic Power ~ Double Team/Thunder (different foe than Sedgewick) ~ Metronome/Thunder (different foe than Sedgewick)

Okay Sabre and Chansey, time to begin some major trouble for Arven and Sedgewick.

Sabre, for your first action, if Sedgewick is heading toward yopu with his Rollout, be ready to stop him in his "tracks" before he hits you by generating a good Thunder Wave, otherwise, be ready to Torment him.

As for you Chansey, if Sedgewick rolls your way instead of Sabre, I want you to be ready to Thunder Wave him yourself, otherwise, give Arven more trouble by using Thunder Wave on her instead.

Then, Sabre, right now we have to cause some big damage to Arven, so if she made clones, obliterate them with a chilly Icy Wind, to get her back from when she Ice Punched you, otherwise, bring down your claws on her (preferably on at least one arm) with a wide Slash. Then, give her a(nother) Slash with your claws, (again) aiming for at least one of her arms.

Chansey, for the rest of the round, we have to get Sedgewick weakened quickly. Squeeze him much like he was inside a trash compactor with another Psychic, and then, unless that Psychic forced damage caps, crush him more with another Psychic, otherwise, go over to Arven and give her a Brick Break.

Sorry about the delay, but the semester is finally over and my back is getting better as well. Muscle spasms in the back are quite painful x.x;;. Things seem to be finally slowing up.

Also, as you said in the description of the arena, weather moves won’t work ^^;.

And damage cap is set at 40% though its still weird for me to have to double the damage dealt

After the replenishing refreshment break, the crowd begins to grow antsy. As they wait for the battle to resume, there is a dull roar of “let’s get this show on the road”, and “Where is everyone?” Finally, the televisions blink back to life. Arven is still feeling rather good about her status in the battle although the other pokemon have taken quite a beating. What will happen during this round? Stay tuned to find out.

Sedgewick kicks things off by floating to the ground and gathering up momentum, rolls towards Sabre. The absol sees that the koffing is rolling his way and his eyes narrow. Sabre hears the sound of electricity crackling as he concentrates on his next attack. Sabre releases it at the exact moment that Sedgewick slams into him. To his credit, Sedgewick didn’t cry out. In fact he rolled off preparing to come back for another hit even though he was now much slower and his muscles were threatening to freeze at any given second. Meanwhile, Chansey was also sparking with electricity. Arven didn’t seem to notice this as she had just closed her eyes. Unfortunately, before she could even begin to start her attack. Arven’s muscles completely locked up and she wasn’t able to do a single thing.

Sabre now focuses his attention on Arven who has up until not been the target of many attacks. Her muscles relaxed enough for her to create four clones. Not to be distracted, Sabre briefly glows a faint white color before a bone chilling gust of freezing cold wind that raced towards Arven taking out her clones and also hitting her. She glared at Sabre and made a comment that could barely be heard over her chattering teeth. By this time, Sedgewick had finally once again reached Sabre and rolled into him before rolling off again faster than before but still not as fast as he had been on that first attack. Chansey now turned her attention to the purple bag of gas. Her eyes glowed a violet color as Sedgewick was grabbed and lifted up into the air by a similarly colored glow. The koffing tried to get away but the psychic hold was just too strong.

Sedgewick, meanwhile, kept trying to break free and was continuing to struggle against his captor’s psychic hold until his muscles froze up on him. Chansey didn’t let up on her attack until she had finished. Once she had released Sedgewick, he fell to the ground until the paralysis wore off and he managed to float a few inches above the ground. It was obvious that he had seen better days. Sabre stalked towards Arven and managed to slash her upper left arm before retreating a little ways off. Gritting her teeth, Arven used her right hand to wiggle her finger back and forth in a rhythmic motion. After a few minutes of the repetitive motion, she took a deep breath and spit out a jet of water at Sabre. The absol’s fur was completely drenched and the wet canine snarled a warning at Arven who blanched slightly as the toxins did their magic.

Arven the female : 54% badly poisoned (8% next time), paralyzed, chilled

    &

Sedgewick the shiny male :: 24% (damage caps) paralyzed, relieved that the psychic attack is over

    Vs.

Chansey the female : 56% poisoned (4% every round)

    &

Sabre the male : 38% soaking wet and not pleased about it

Btw the metronome came out as water gun.

Okay, I thought I should tell you two that my Chansey evolved a little while ago into a Blissey, but she is simply a Chansey for this battle until it ends.

    Anyway, back to business.

Sabre, we've got Sedgewick on the ropes now, but we still have to target Arven as well, so I want you to immediately Taunt them both again, and as for you Chansey, we need to finish off Sedgewick now, so use a Psychic on him, fast.

Then, Sabre, if Sedgewick is KOed, help Chansey against Arven. Since she got you soaking wet, how about taking out your Frustration on her, or if Sedgewick still didn't fall, give him a powerful Thunderbolt. Chansey, if you didn't manage to KO Sedgewick on your first action, just so that he cannot Torment you, use your own Thunderbolt on him, otherwise, Brick Break Arven.

Finally, Sabre, if Sedgewick still hasn't been KOed somehow, we have to make sure he faints now, so go for another Thunderbolt, or if you end up Tormented after your first Thunderbolt (incase Sedgewick doesn't faint), then go for an Ice Beam on him instead. Otherwise, try and Slash Arven's right arm, and maybe that way, she will have a harder time using Metronome. After all, that first Slash you used on her sure helped, despite the soaking you received. Chansey, once more, if Sedgewick is still active, bring him down with a Psychic, otherwise, Brick Break Arven.

    Sedgewick, begin by Exploding.

    Explosion

Arven, before that Taunt hits, set up a Protect to guard against the Explosion. Next, let's try and make this as annoying as possible for our foes. Metronome twice.

    Protect ~ Metronome x2

    Hi.

Amy, incase you haven't read the PMs I sent you, Jeff and I have been thinking of dropping this battle (simply so that nobody gets anything for it). Seeing as that it's been over a month since it was last reffed (and besides that, Sedgewick has evolved on Jeff's team, and my Chansey has evolved on my team), I've felt that this battle was going to go nowhere.

Amy, despite the fact this battle didn't go very far, thanks for reffing.

Jeff, I'm sorry our battle had to end this way. I'll definitely be ready for another battle with you someday.
