What Are Referees?
A referee is the person who interpreted the attacks made by all battlers and decides exactly what effect they have, before writing out a descriptive piece detailing the battle. Referees have the power to decide who wins a battle, and are therefore entrusted with great responsibility. As a referee, you are expected to be unbiased and consistent.

Reffing A Battle
While reffing a battle, you are required to give a description of how you see each attack panning out. This gives the referee a lot of freedom to write creatively, and the battlers the freedom to be far more strategic and clever in their battle plans than the games ever do. And because of this, you will often see many attacks interpreted differently by different referees, in different situations. It is perfectly acceptable that you ref your attacks differently than others would, as long as it remains unbiased, consistent and logical.

The most important factor when reffing, is to remember what game you are playing. This is ASB, not Pokemon Red, Gold or Sapphire. Damage should never be pre-calculated; attacks do not have set amounts of damage. When an attack is used, you should take into account things such as accuracy of the attack (whether it hit full on, or just brushed the opponent) and the type of the opponent (water attacks do more damage to fire types)

If you are at any time unsure of how to ref an attack, look at the ASB Attack List for a good guide. However this is merely a guide and does not have to be followed exactly.

Another important thing to know about is "damage caps." It is generally recommended that ASB refs apply a 30-50% damage cap during all normal battles (unless the battlers request it be removed). The most widely used value is 40%. A damage cap simply means that a pokémon cannot receive more than that set amount of damage in one round, regardless of any and all circumstances. Damage caps are completely omitted in events such as Gym Leader Tourney battles (esp. since damage is purposely increased there).

If you receive complaints about your reffing, you are expected to explain your actions to the battlers, so that everybody knows where they stand. If as a battler, you feel a ref’s explanation is biased, or unfair, report to the head ref who will sort the issue out and have the final say.

The Reffing Tower
The Reffing Tower is where you come to become an approved ref. The difference between an approved ref and an unapproved ref is quite simple; an approved ref gets extra rewards for their reffing. Approved refs are ranked, depending on their ability and their activeness. There are four difference attainable ranks, those being Rookie, Intermediate, Experienced and Master. There is also the Head ref, a position one individual holds, they have the final say on every reffing matter. If you have any complaints about reffing, you go to them. The other sort of approved ref is a "free style" ref. This is a position that is available only on request, and is merely for the ability to call yourself approved. Free style refs do not receive added rewards.

The reffing tower is also used to request a referee. If you wish to request a new or sub ref, please post a link to the battle, saying whether you require a new ref or a sub ref.

Becoming A Ref
To become and approved ref, you must ref the mock battle at the bottom of this post. The Head ref will then analyze your reffing, and decide whether or not you are worthy of a spot as an approved ref. A newly approved ref will start off in either Rookie or Intermediate level; this is at the Head Ref’s discretion. If you fail the test, you must wait for a new mock battle before attempting again. If you just joined ASB, it would beneficial to you if you viewed other reffings before jumping in on your own. It’s not mandatory but it would help you see how the reffings are done.

Now That You're A Ref...
If you wish to gain promotion, then you must ref the current mock battle (provided you haven't already reffed it). Please also include what rank you are currently, and what rank you are attempting to achieve. When deciding whether you are worthy of promotion, the head ref will also study your general performance, to ensure you are reffing all battles at a good enough quality. It is also possible to be promoted due to sheer hard work.

You must always post links to the battles you are currently reffing to receive your reward, and update your posts every few rounds at least. You should keep all this information in one post, until the head ref posts a new mock battle (this will be in a new post too); then you can make a new post.

As a referee, you are expected to be active. If you go for an extended period of time without reffing (unless you’ve posted in the Absence Tower), you will be either demoted or fired and will have to re-do a mock reffing in order to be rehired. .

Rewards
Your reward for being an approved ref is a free catch or evolution after reffing a certain amount of battles. In the case of a DQ or forfeit, the battle has to be at least half completed (ex: if there is a DQ in a 4 on 4, at least 2 Pokemon have to have been knocked out in order for you to use it as a reward link). The amount of battles required depends on your rank (see below for details). When you have reached the required amount, please post links to all the battles, and the Head Ref will then approve your prize. This is the battle amount each rank needs to complete before coming to the head ref:

The rooftop of the tallest building in the Switzerland of Marvel and DC (Goldenrod City). A square shape with no barrier or wall at the edge. There is a ventilation pipe blowing out steam in one corner, while the roof access door is in the diagonally opposite corner. It's a fine day, and no criminal masterminds are around to interrupt the battle

Now that Contests are beginnng in ASB, it has come to my attention that we should have people who are able to ref contests asides from myself (Chris 2.0). More information on Contests is here.

Just like with battles, to be an approved Contest Judge you must ref a mock battle. See below for the Mock Contest and post here in this Tower to get your Mock Contest checked. There will be similar (albeit condensed) ranks for Judges as much of it is down to opinion and personal takes on things. Again, check below. This Mock Contest will, like Battles, be updated to ensure you can gain promotion.

Any questions PM Chris 2.0. Remember, if, when reffing a Contest, you do not think a combo is feasible, then you are in your right to say that a combo would not work. (Eg...Thunderbolt and Flamethrower together, you get the picture. Or something just mind-boggling) If any arguments occur PM me and I shall determine whether or not the attack combo could be pulled off.

A reffed Contest can go in your reffing status just like any other reffing. You can use it towards your reffing quota. Point prizes and such are all in the link above.

Round 3

The rain keeps on pouring down in the small field as the two pokemon stared each other down as they awaited attacks to be commanded. Prickly suddenly lowers its body to the ground as it is surrounded in a yellow circle as electricity shoots up into the sky. Kawaii looks up into the sky and darts off it’s feet to attack Prickly, as it tried to run as fast as it could being slowed down by the rain and mud forming on the ground. Thunder shot down from the cloud in strikes as Kawaii jumped up to tackle Prickly. As soon as it jumped up a good piece of the thunder hit her, but she still managed to tackle Prickly hard to the ground, knocking him of his feet.

Prickly rolls back onto its feet and sends out a circle of electricity, as its moves quickly closer to Kawaii, she shoots out an Ice Beam quickly at Prickly. As they move closer to each other they just miss each other and arrive hitting their destinations. Prickly was hit, but not badly hurt from the Ice Beam, and Kawaii was paralyzed decently.

As the final attacks are ordered, Prickly spits out disgusting Toxic out of it’s mouth. Kawaii tried to make a move to attack Prickly physically, but was held back by being paralyzed. As the toxic flew through air it slowly withered down to the ground from the pouring down rain as Kawaii just stopped trying to run away as she saw it was gone.

Arena: A grassy field in a random town, the weather has been horrible for this match, as the rain hasn't let up at all since Bill's Azumarill performed a Rain Dance at the start of the match..

Bill: "Okay, Prickly! Let's use the rain to our advantage with a Thunder attack! Follow that up with a Thunder Wave and a Toxic to put this cat out of commission!"

Ted: "I don't think so.. Kawaii, run as quickly as possible to avoid the Thunder, tackling that Jolteon! Then use an Ice Beam and an Iron Tail!"

Kawaii:88% Confident

ROUND *Random round number*!! BILL VS TED!

-=Pre-Battle=-

The rain continues to pelt down on this battle folks, as the poor citizens of Random Town shut themselves in, fearing the storm. Prickly the Jolteon doesn't seem to mind the stormy weather, and enjoys the cooling water against his wounds and tired muscles.

Kawaii, on the other hand, is a bit spooked by a bolt of thunder, but regains her composure and restores her cute little smirk. She shakes off the rain, and lifts a paw, ready to start, as Jolteon barks a bit.

-=BATTLE START!=-

Prickly snickers, and lets out a loud yelp between breaths, a huge arc of lightning soaring into the clouds, raining small bolts around the arena. Delcatty gasps a bit as a bolt nearly strikes her and dashes off, the main column of electricty missing her by inches, but the cat charges on, and ramming her whole body into Jolteons side. The cries of both are heard all through the city, as Jolteons sides are forced inwards by the cat, and as the cat makes contact with the REASON this dogs nickname fits so well.

Delcatty pushes herself to her feet, grumbling a bit, and suddenly, a quick jolt of pain shoots down her side! Like a thousand knives in her poor little legs! Delcatty makes a quick pass with her tail, and is a bit confused to find not one spine from Jolteon in her legs, and, even more painful than any spine, the realization hits her - It's paralasis! Jolteon cackles as best the dog can, the rings of electricty pulsing from his ears and mane, surrounding Delcatty. Being an electric-type however, the traveling current of the water only causes minor discomfort. Delcatty grits her teeth, mustering the frozen orb on the tip of her tail, and the blue beam fires off as a cold, chilling wake-up call to Jolteon. The beam pushes Jolteon through the mud, creating frozen ground and puddles, making the surrounding battlefield that much more treacherous.

Delcatty stiffens her tail once more, as Jolteon begins sloshing something in his mouth, shivering a bit as he steps forward. Kawaii's tail glows, then then turns a hardened silver-ish color, like stainless steel, as Jolteons lips seem to bleed a purple goo. The globule of toxins is fired off just as the strike of the tail comes down, cutting through the ball and smacking directly into Jolteons jaw, as Delcatty feels her tail muscles tense up...

Arena - Puddles are frozen around immediate area, as is mud and ground. Storm seems to be letting up, ice has some blobs of poison still lingering.

Round 3

Trying to take advantage of the pouring rain, since Kawaii was doused with water. Prickly signals to the sky and a giant lighting bolt comes streaking down at Kawaii, who was heading toward Prickly trying to tackle it. Though before Kawaii can Tackle Prickly, the lighting struck Kawaii who was a walking lighting rod by that point. The suprised Kawaii, never saw it coming as she was shocked by the lighting strike. Kawaii didn't even have a chance to finish the Tackle attack.

Prickly is tired from having to expend energy from using Thunder, and can only muster a small wave of electrcity which doesn't even reach Kawaii. Kawaii takes advantage of this, and conjures up a beam of ice, which strikes Prickly and makes him shiver.

Prickly does come back by spewing out a glob of poision, but the endless rain dilloutes the poision before it was any threat to Kawaii. Kawaii tail glints with a sharp edge as she hurls her tail right into Prickly's stomach dealing decent damage. The Round ends with Prickly on the ropes.



Post-Battle Stats

Prickly, the male Jolteon Health: 37%, shivering, cuts on stomach

LeGeNDaRy: Intermediate. That was very good and the only thing I can dish out is that Thunder comes from the Pokemon, not the sky. Many anime episodes have proven that.

TMM: eh, Intermediate. I hesitate to give you that because one, Thunder is one solid attack and doesn't break up into little sections. Also, as I said to LeGeNDaRy, it comes from the Pokemon and not the sky. Finally, Kawaii should've received more damage than that, or at least move a bit slower and deal less damage due to her paralysis and fatigue. However, I've seen your reffings and they're good so that's why I'm giving you that rank.

Jolteon100: Rookie. Again, Thunder does not come from the sky. Also, Prickly was rightly fatigued but it doesn't take much to summon a thunderwave, especially in the rain. A bit too much damage to Kawaii but I can see it happening. I'll want to see some more work until you try again.


And I apologize if I've done anything faulty. First timer ^^

We're still in this grassy knoll...I mean field. The rain is still pummeling the grass, making lots of puddles and very slippery grass. I mean, come on...rain is wet! Although it looks like the clouds might be thinning...

Pre-Battle:
It's not been an easy match. Both Pokémon are being hindered by the torrents of rain. The constant downpour is making the grassy kno...field start to look more like a small lake.

Even though he's getting soaked, Bill manages to think up a strategy. "Okay, Prickly! Let's use the rain to our advantage with a Thunder attack! Follow that up with a Thunder Wave and a Toxic to put this cat out of commission!" The yellow Pokémon gives a short sound of acceptance at the commands.

Ted's response is fast and furious, "I don't think so.. Kawaii, run as quickly as possible to avoid the Thunder, tackling that Jolteon! Then use an Ice Beam and an Iron Tail!" The soaked kitty gives a loud 'mew' of approval.

And with a loud ring of the bell, the third round of this action-packed battle starts!

With no time to waste, Kawaii starts running at Prickly, focused only on hitting him and possibly canceling the Thunder. Prickly, however, is looking up towards the sky, not noticing the cat charging him.

Unfortunately for Kawaii, the terrain is not helping. All the puddles are lowering Kawaii's ability to run quickly. Suddenly, a quick streak of electricity shoots out of Prickly into the clouds. Two seconds and a lot of cloud flashing later, a huge bolt of Thunder comes down and hits...a puddle that Kawaii had just started jogging through. Ouch, bet that kitty was wishing water didn't conduct electricity right now.

Kawaii's definitely a sour puss now (pun most definitely intended). She climbs out of the puddle, her eyes narrowed at Prickly as electricity still sparks over her fur. Prickly lets out a soft laugh and starts charging up his needles for the Thunder Wave.

As the electric surge starts flowing towards Kawaii, a rush of ice comes hurtling at Prickly. The Ice Beam hits dead on as Prickly was too distracted with his Thunder Wave to dodge. It's not for nothing, though...some of the electric surge slaps into Kawaii as she keeps pushing her Ice Beam. All around the Ice Beam, the rain is turning to hail and the puddles have started freezing over.

A crackling noise draws the attention to Prickly. Uh oh! It looks like Prickly's soaked coat of fur needles has started freezing! As the Ice Beam subsides, we see that Prickly can still move, but barely as all his needles have frozen together. Kawaii looks over, smirking even though she's twitching from the Thunder Wave.

The sky starts to lighten...it looks like the Rain Dance has almost finished. The rain comes down only half as heavily.

Prickly's fur starts cracking, and it seems to be because he's moving, possibly to finish his attacks. Walking a little more carefully, Kawaii moves closer to Jolteon, her tail slowly turning silver in color. Looks likes she may have the advantage this round. She comes within 10 feet of Prickly. Five feet. She's less than a foot away...

SPLURT! Without warning, the Jolteon launches a yucky purple substance. With what seems like lightning-fast reflexes, the Delcatty smacks him across the face with her iron tail. Most of the poison gets deflected off of the metal tail, but some manages to hit its target. Recoiling, Kawaii's tail returns to its normal form. Quickly she dodges a few feet away in case anymore Toxic comes up.

By now all the rain has stopped. The sun is now peeking from behind the clouds and we can see it sparkle in Prickly's ice-fur.

Arena:
The rain has gone away finally, but the sun isn't hot enough to evaporate the puddles or even melt the ice yet. The puddles still litter the field, and there's a row of ice across a couple puddles, with tiny hail needles scattered around it.

VirtualPlay: Intermediate it is. I still don't like the Thunder thing but as long as it gets the job done, that's ok. Good job with the weather issue, not many people picked up on that. The damage seems a bit high but that's just me. Good job

Round 3 sets up as both pokemon receive their orders. Prickly takes little time unleashing a massive bolt of electricity from himself. Trying to use the wet coat of Kawaii, he opes for a good, and effective, hit. Kawaii is not to be outdone, however, as she charges full speed, hurtling herslef at her attacker. The bolt of electricty manages to graze the ever quick delcatty, giving a bit of a static shock. She manages to hit prickly head on, knocking him back. As prickly gets up, Delcatty is a bit angered at her look, as her once smooth hair is now on-end with static shock.

Kawaii makes her next move by firing an ice blue beam at her opponent. The rain adds to the effectiveness of the beam as it reaches prickly, who has since been emitting electrical charges, on direction for kawaii. once again the rain and ice help it travel ever so quickly to Kawaii, as she is immediatly paralyzed. On the other end, Prickly receives yet another full on attack, this time from a beam of ice. He falls to the ground, as is stunned to feel his left front leg has been frozen solid to the ground, oh my.

As prickly tries to free his frozen appendage, fatigue beggining to set in, he notices kawaii heading at him with full force. Her tail has become somewhat of a metal-like substance and she is running towards him ready to hit. This is unfortunate, as prickly is ready. Before she can hit him, she is blasted in the face with a purple goo, shot out of prickly's mouth. She winces in pain as the poisen seeps in and she is unable to complete her attack.

With the rain still pouring down, albiet lighter than it has been for the past two rounds, both pokemon lookd ecidedly soaked through. While Prickly the Jolteon doesn't seem bothered, the feline Delcatty, Kawaii is most displeased. None the less, the battle is what concerns her the most. Sparking of electricity from Prickly's body alters the cat pokemon to the incoming attack ad she runs away. Confused by her trainers instructions she turns around and runs towards Prickly. Is she to escape the attack by runing away, or Tackle her opponent by running towards him? She decides, with the aim of the battle to come out victorious, Tackling is the best option.

Prickly on the other hand, has no such confusion over his attacks, and a solid blast of electrical eergy sparks from his spiny back and courses through the rain drops, jumping swiftly from drop to drop before crashing into the fast approaching Delcatty. With the ground as wet as it is, Delcatty skids and crashes into the Jolteon when the attack strikes her. Her fur agitated by the static, standing on end briefly before the rain flattens it again, she growls at the electric Eeveelution. The small beads that hang from her crest glow with a pale blue light, and as she opens her mouth a freezing ray of ice energy shoot out. Hitting rain as it moves, small clumps of ice fall to the ground.

Pridckly regards the attack with fear, but retaliates with another electrical attack, this time a short burst of white lightning. Still conducted by the rain, the white lighting sparks into the Delcatty's body and harshly strikes at the nerves in her front legs and head. The Ice Beam on the other hand strikes full force into the torso of Prickly, knocking the thunder pokemon back and leaving a layer of chilly frost over his fur. The rain seems less heavy now, it's coming close to the end, as the clouds over the arena begin to whiten, exhausting themselves of water. Still, it's enough to keep both pokemon wet.

Stumbling to move in close for an attack Kawaii can't muster the control over her front legs so soon after the paralytic attack, and so can't attack. Prickly smirks at his enemy's misfortune, and takes the opportunity to further annoy his foe. Approaching slowly, but keeping a good enough distance, should she regain control again, the spiney yellow canine spits a large globule of thick oily poison over his foe. While the rain manages to disperse it slightly mid flight, and wash some of the poison from Kawaii's body, it sinks in, leaving a nasty black stain o the pokemon's fur, and a horrid poison flowing through her veins. Kawai coughs and retches as she begins to taste the poison. Prickly backs off, and sits down ready for his next orders, his breathing laboured as he tries to regain his breath.

TML, I would highly suggest that you don't tell people stuff like "thunder comes from pokemon, not the sky", "not many people picked up on the weather thing" (ie, ie) until the next mock battle is posted. That's unfair on the first bunch of people who posted their mock reffing and got numerous mistakes, and giving hints to the later ones that post theirs, knowing where the others went wrong so they don't make those same mistakes. Obviously that's going to give the people who post theirs later an advantage, giving them a rank that they probably don't deserve.

Actually, I'm not even worried about that. If someone makes that kind of mistake, I'm not going to grade them lower. I'm looking at whether the attacks hit or not and the ref's interpretation of everything. If they say it comes from the sky, big deal. I know I'm making a fuss about it since I watch the anime but whatever. I understand what you're saying though

The billowy gray clouds continue to loom overhead, pouring forth their rain and thoroughly soaking the entire arena below. Under the shadow of the clouds, Prickly stands panting slightly while Kawaii shakes herself vigorously to shed the water off her pristine coat. Both combatants receive their commands and Prickly instantly commences his first attack, building up a massive electrical current. Kawaii also leaps into action, charging quickly and hoping to Tackle the Jolteon. Prickly unleashes his Thunder and the fierce bolt of lightning surges forward. Aided by the rain, the bolt strikes Kawaii hard, despite her effort to evade the attack. Her vision suddenly turns white as the powerful current courses through her drenched fur.

After the attack subsides, Kawaii’s fur still crackles with electricity. Prickly gives a smirk of satisfaction, though the attack has drained another large portion of his energy. The Delcatty glares angrily before opening her mouth as if to yell. But the only thing that comes out is a blue glow, which freezes the raindrops in front of her into ice. A jagged beam immediately forms and is blasted into the Jolteon’s chest, creating icicles along Prickly’s upper body. Feeling cold and numb, Prickly closes his eyes and concentrates on generating a Thunder Wave. The electricity shatters some of the ice on his body and is then discharged into the air. The slender blue bolts wrap around Kawaii like electric rope and the Delcatty tenses up as the muscles in her limbs are immobilized.

Smiling once more, the electric Pokemon prepares a putrid, venomous fluid in his mouth and spews it forward. The sticky purple fluid splatters across Kawaii’s face and she desperately tries to shake it off. Fortunately for her, the pouring rain rinses some of the poison away, but a small portion has already entered through her nose and ears. She sneezes violently as she tries to prepare her next attack, but her tail is stunned and immobile. Her legs are also paralyzed and as she tries to move forward, she merely topples onto the wet grass. Anger seethes within her as she attempts to stagger back up. Across from her, the Jolteon pants heavily from exhaustion but is pleased with his feline opponent’s crippled state.

The rain showers down on the battlefield of the two trainers, their Pokemon facing off, preparing to launch their attacks. Bill and Ted shout their commands, and the two beasts leap into action. Prickly leaps into the air and fires a bolt of lightning at Kawaii, who attempts to evade, but to no avail. The joslt of electricity sends Kawaii rolling to the ground, but she quickly gets up and shoots an icy blue beam at Prickly, freezing the droplets of water falling through the sky. Prickly tries to move out of the path of the beam, but the blast hits his right back leg, freezing it.

Prickly quickly strikes back, shooting another jolt of electricity at the cat, paralyzing its body. To finish it off, Prickly launches a purple blob of poison at Kawaii, who accidentally swallows some, poisoning her. She splutters and shakes off the rest of the goo, gettting ready for the next round.

Linc: I'm sorry but I can't approve you. To start things off, Prickly went from 60% to 72%. Now, I don't know if that was a mistake or not but Prickly didn't have any moves that let it regain health. If anything, he should've lost some due to the ice beam. Also, Prickly's Thunder did way more than it should have; 36% is too much. And when you did toxic, I didn't quite understand how Kawaii could've gotten it in her mouth. Perhaps she was panting and it came flying at her unexpectedly but wouldn't the natural response be turning away or closing the mouth? (just my theory)

When I started ASB, I carefully looked at ref's reffings for a while to see how it was done since I didn't want to jump in right away. Not saying it's bad to do so but if you're new, you have less of a grasp on the reffing concept than the others, all of whom I'm familiar with their reffings. Take time to examine and then when the new mock trial comes up (which should be in two weeks or so), try it again

Yeah, uh... for the health thing, for some unexplainable reason, I thought the higher percentile of the Health, the more damage. I'll look over some reffings and try again for the next mock battle. And the Toxic thing, I said blob and in my mind blob means 'big ball of goop', so I imagined that it covered most of Kawaii's front, so she accidentally swallowed some. If this sounds like complaints, they aren't I'm just explaining my errors. Sorry if I cause any trouble. ^^;

As the Rain continues to pour onto the battlefield, Prickly begins charging up , and sends forth a thick volley of electricity, which is seemingly headed for noone in particular, due to Kawaii's headfirst charging, which connects, and knocks the Jolteon backwards, and off his feet.
Angry, Prickly jumps to his feet, emitting a mysterious wave, while Kawaii spits out a beam of rock hard ice.
The wave and beam seem to leapfrog over each other, and both connect, leaving Prickly shivering, and Kawaii's body tingling.
Panting now, Prickly begins building up some nasty toxins in his mouth, as Kawaii charges, her tail glowing brightly.
As Kawaii leaps in the air though, her tail dulls down, her body freezes, and her mind panicks. Prickly almost grins as he spits the poisonous sludge onto his foe, as she hits the ground with a "THUD".
The rain continues, although slowing a bit, as both competitors face each other down.

Both pokémon listens carefully what their trainers tell them to do. Running through the rain, Kawaii faces her enemy with a mad dash. Prickly summons lots of electricity through his body and lets out a giant jolt of electricity through the air. The lightning bolt arcs and splits into many thunderbolts, which rain down onto Kawaii. Fortunately, Kawaii picks up enough speed and dodges the lightning bolts as they strucks the ground, but Kawaii continues to run as she hit onto Prickly head first.

Tired and exhausted, but seeing Kawaii so close to him, Prickly tries to muster another jolt of electricity. Then, two sharp lightning streaks arc from both sides of Prickly. Quickly, the two lightning bolts unite together on Kawaii, causing sharp pain to her sides and immobilizing her, preventing her from concentrating in call upon the ice elements.

Grinning, Prickly gurgles some venomous poison from his previous meal. Kawaii tries to recover from the previous attack by rapidly shaking her head. Her muscles start to tingle, but with a mad shout, she focuses all her power into her tail, making it hard as iron. Then, rushing forward, she does a mad somersault into the air and with her tail aimed directly at Prickly. Quickly, Prickly spits the goo at Kawaii and splatters all over her tail, but the her fast rushing power and heavy rain quickly cleanses away the poison before it sets into her skin. And at the same time, Kawaii lands her tail fair and square onto Prickly's body, causing significant damage as he yelps and rolls away from her. Kawaii feels her muscles start to seize up and Prickly crawls back up to his feet, both still eager to battle, but rain continues to pour into the arena...

ARENA: A grassy field in a random town, the weather has been horrible for this match, as the rain hasn't let up at all since Prickly performed a Rain Dance at the start of the battle...

After Round 2

The battle of ROUND 3

After a great round 2 both pokemon stare into each other. On one corner is Prickly. A tired Jolteon resting for some energy. On the other corner is Kawaii. A female Delcatty who had just her first round.

After hearing their commands Prickly jumps to the sky, just above Kawaii. She tries to jump to tackle her down and make her flinch but there was no avail.
A blinding yellow light emerges from Prickly's body as he releases a gigantic thunder attack. Just as Kawaii falls to the ground and into a puddle, electricity surges through her body, conducting with the rain and the puddle she's on.

Prickly comes back down, extremely tired from the energy he used, starting to rest a bit. Kawaii takes this into advantage for revenge. She releases a blue and white beam from her mouth directly at Prickly. Prickly takes the beam full out trying to endure it. As the beam ends we can see a very cold Prickly. His legs frozen. Though he doesnt need to move to send out electricity. Again Prickly's body surges with electricity as he releases three rings. Two of them hit Kawaii as she starts to stiffen.

Kawaii moves first again but the paralysis gets her front legs as she trips and falls onto the wet grass. Prickly starts to see the sun emerge from the clouds, hoping it would unfreeze him. He immediately turns back to his opponent and his body glows purple. Purple toxins start drooling from Prickly's mouth. He spits the toxins and they hit Kawaii. The toxic attack starts to burn her skin, entering into her blood.

So we end the third round as the sun emerges from the clouds.

Prickly: 45% VERY Fatigued. Legs frozen
Kawaii: 50% Not so confident, paralyzed, poisoned.

While Prickly summoned a Thunderbolt, Kawaii dashed at her opponent and hit him pretty hard and barely avoiding the Thunder attack. Prickly was feeling even more tired after their collision, but since Kawaii was nearby he got off the Thunder Wave easily. Kawaii then used an Ice Beam on the wet Jolteon and he was frozen solid. Being frozen Prickly was unable to execute his toxic attack, and he was too far away from Kawaii for her to do her attack.
