I caught Mew today with the glitch! Wanna know how?

To do this the glitch way, you can not have fought the Gambler outside the Underground Tunnel leading to Celadon or the Youngster with a Slowpoke you find after Nugget Bridge.
Step 1: Save outside Underground tunnel that goes from Lavender to Celadon.
Step 2: Take 1 step down and push start before the Gambler sees you.
Step 3: Fly to Cerulean. Your start button will not work.
Step 4: Go up Nugget Bridge and into the bush-maze. Fight the Youngster with a Slowpoke.
Step 5: Fly to Lavender and go through the west exit. Your start menu will pop up. Cancel it with 'B'.
Step 6: You will randomly encounter Mew after you close the start menu. It will be at Lv.7 and will know Pound. Catch it!

You are supposed to be able to get every Pok'emon in this way. Fly from the Gambler and fight a different trainer to experiment.

Just so you know, that all could have been said in one post, you didn't need seperate ones. In addition, a lot of people know about that glich already. There's even an FAQ for it on Gamefaqs.com that tell you all on the pokemon you can get from the glich.

To answer your question, yes I have Mew. Cool feeling isn't it?

It's the ninth thread from the top on the RBY page. So, yeah... most of us already knew. ^_^;;

And no, I haven't done it. I'm not much for glitches, and besides, I did a temporary swap with a friend's legit Mew years ago to fill my 'Dex.

I think I caught mew in Route 8 once. But when I learned the trick can also be performed in Route 24 before you even fight Misty, I've always caught my Mew there. Why wait that long?

I got a legit one in both Yellow and Red at some Pokemon Mew Event in Newcastle. Both LV 100 and still got them!

Oh I remember when I first got this code last year, I was so surprised that it actually worked! Until then I always thought Mew only appeared in the cartoon/anime

I sent my Pokémon Red to the other side of the World, ILikePokémon;P in Australia and got it back with two Mews in it. That was 2003 if I remember correctly.

The Pokemon people never really came near me, so I never had an opportunity to get a legit Mew.

Sooooooo I found other ways. And I didn't feel morally distraught over a stupid piece of computer memory inside a stupid piece of plastic. I just wanted to be able to walk into the junior high cafeteria and be like, "IIIIIII've got a Mew. Be my best friend."
