YGO Writer Requests Advice.

Hello all. For those of you who have noticed, my writing career has all but fallen by the wayside. There is a slight problem with this...

I love writing. I love being involved in a long project, and yet it seems I'm hopelessly doomed to lose hope two or three chapters in.

This is especially tough where Yu Gi Oh is concerned. I'm officially retired from the game, but it's writing the duels that I like. Capturing the energy. Writing the descriptions.

The trouble with this is that of course between the card games themselves, there has to be an interesting story. No one wants to read mindless duel after duel without a bit of background.

And of course it kills me that I have so many ideas for characters from the series' themselves that I never could weave into a plot line. The Mai vs. Devlin duel from Revival didn't make sense at all, but I shamelessly squeezed it in.

Anyway... I suppose I'm just looking for where to go next in my career, or simply give up, but if I did start something, I have no idea where to go next.

I don't know if I'm looking for inspiration or advice at this point. I just feel very lost. But everyone on the board has been so wonderful, and I know it's not a problem I face alone as a writer.

I ask for help now, for someone to please help me find a direction.

On a completely different topic, if anyone is ever interested in helping me salvage Revival, PM me. I know the plot's been spoiled, but it's always a burden when the creative energy of a vision never gets released.

Well i cant say ive been reading all that many Fics so not sure if this has been done but one theme ive kinda been working on for myself lately is an Anime or Manga etc, brought into the real world.

What if for example you were sat at work/school and an Onix burst out up through the parking lot etc. Obviously you would have to rework thatfor Yugioh but if you've ever seen 'Last Action Hero'. Its a Schwarzenegger film that although was cheesy, had a pretty cool premise.

You could for example have a bunch of YGO Villains get into this world with all their soul stealing powers etc and there be noone to defend against them. The only 'duellists' the world would have to offer would be a bunch of people who once played a trading card game. Not people who have played it all their life and worship it as pretty much the #1 sport in the world etc.
Im no good at getting points across clearly (possibly why i dont write solo, though i plan on trying soon ) but i hope you get the general idea.
