Just my luck, Tracer thought to himself as his mind raced with possibilities. From a mechanical set of vines and whips, to a robotic spider, and finally to top it all off, a classic tiger trap pit with moving scythes. Nice.
Trying to hack through the door wasn't working. Obviously Sigil had called in some SHIELD defenses this time, or she just messed with his datapad, or anyone did. Not that it mattered right now as they were worried about getting across a chasm with scythes swinging across it. Hacking the system wasn't an option. Hell, he might have failed them all at that point.
He glanced across the path as his mind started calculating the physics involved in the swinging scythes, and his hands dancing across the screen of his datapad.
“Still want me to make that ice-bridge?” Coldsnap shouted.
“Bugger!” Arc replied, annoyed at the loss of his cigarette.
“Cold!” Tracer shouted. “Can you freeze the scythes?”
“What?!”
“Freeze them to the wall at the apex of their swing.”
There was a bit of silence.
“When they stop!”
“Oh! Right! I can try!”
“What do you have cooking Trace?” Ruffles shouted.
“Arc! Shoot up at the mechanism when Coldsnap freezes it.”
Arc seemed to be catching onto the hacker's plan as he grumbled about his lost cigarette and reloaded his gun.
One of the scythes swung by, and keeping away from the edge of the pit-trap, Coldsnap let loose with a burst of cold air, ice forming around the spot where the scythe met its maximal height and extending it to the blade, catching it. It stopped for a moment, even as Coldsnap continued to send out a super-cold beam and freezing the blade. Arc aimed and then took his shot as he heard the gears start to grind to keep the scythe moving.
The bullet flew, and struck home in the mechanism, stopping the gears from moving the scythe. One was stopped, only three more to go...
“Freeze the next one Cold,” Arc commented as he aimed for the following gear mechanism.
Through a bit of time and team work, they managed to cross the room by using the frozen scythes as stepping stones to hop across the spike-filled chasm. Coldsnap had made a smaller bridge to help with the jumps. As they reached the other side, Arc slapped Tracer on the shoulder playfully (but still a bit hard).
“Quick thinking chap,” he said, a cigarette in his mouth.
“Yeah,” he replied, rubbing his shoulder. “Any time...”

Blue Team
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
A roar of reptilian rage echoed through the tunnel as Demon slashed apart another android. Blue team was a few more rooms ahead, making their way to the goal of this test. However they seemed to have been caught in a hallway with robots firing en mass.
Laser fire scorched his arm and Demon roared as the pain spiked through his system and then dulled, his regeneration correcting the damage.
“There's too many!” Pluto shouted as he smashed a few into a dense ball of twisted iron and metal.
“Outnumbered!” Blackout cheered. “Don't have enough cake for all of them!”
“Can you hold them off?” Thalass asked.
Demon growled as his mouth clenched around another robot and biting it apart.
“Sure, keep the dino in my way,” Pluto grumbled.
“Hey! Dino's fun!” Blackout replied.
“You've been putting him down since the test started,” Thalass stated. “Do you always treat your teammates this way?”
“What does it matter?”
“It matters to us. If we don't act as a unit, we fail, and we don't leave. I won't let your bad attitude jeopardize that.”
“Jepordize what?” he snorted. “We fail, big deal.”
“We fail, we get locked up for being who we are. Do you really want that?”
There was a tense moment between the two. Even as Blackout tried to get their attention to the fact that Demon was being swarmed by the robots as they pushed on through the hallway.
“Um. Guys. Demon. He's.... DOGPILE!” the hyper one shouted.
They turned to see a moving mass of robots ontop of the saurian student. Thalass clentched her fists and water started to collect from the air, before she waved her hand in a chopping motion, slicing two robots off of Demon.
“Get them off of him!”
“Whatever!”
Some robots were lifted up into the air, their circuits confused to their change in space. Demon managed to tear the rest off in a show of reptilian anger and animalistic fury.
“Oh No.” Blackout sang. “There goes Tokyo. Go go Godzilla!”
“Hey Dino!” Pluto shouted. Demon spun his head back, eyes lit red with rage.
Robots that he had already tore through started to collect and condense into a tight ball of metal machinery and circuitry. Pieces started becoming so squashed that they were almost concreted together. It was a very dense, very hard sphere of warped metal.
“Remember racketball?” he asked as the sphere started to float with his influence.
With a roar, Demon dashed back towards the ball. Digging his claws into the walls and ground, he pivited around the sphere, and slammed his tail into it. Being of lessened gravity, but not lessened mass, the sphere bounded around the hallway, slamming into the legion of robots like an extreme version of bowling. The sphere gained more mass as the frames were smashed into it, adding to the size.
Any remaining robots were disposed of after that initial attack combination of Demon's strength, and Pluto's gravitating abilities.
With that completed, Blue team moved on.

Hiya, yes I know I'm a bit (okay more like half a month) late on posting. But I figure I can give a little direction and post for my characters too.
The point, or direction for the moment is to continue onto the goal of this test, which is to get past all of the sections and get to the center room (which all three sections connect to), and retreive a set of data discks (so consider it a three man version of Capture the Flag), with various challenges to all students. So in the next few, you can post more of the trials, and even get to the center room. Everyone should get there at about the same time. Granted, in the center room there will be more obstacles, traps and challenges. After another round of posts, I'll wrap up the issue.
Good playing.
