Because, omg, have you SEEN the trailer thingy?! This is gonna be the first of a few topics I've got in mind focusing on upcoming games - mostly biased towards the PS3, heh. Cos there's some ace shit coming out.

Basically, Dante's Inferno is an upcoming PS3 game which looks to die for. It's one of a set of about five upcoming games that're making me want to seriously save up for a PS3 of my own.

Anyway, the premise is that you play Dante, who is chasing his beloved through the nine circles of Hell to rescue her from Lucifer. It's got narrated parts of the Dante's Inferno poem, and it's a hack-and-slash format game, with huge-ass enemies.

Do people who've played God of War agree with the commenters on that page that it's almost identical to GoW? Personally, I think the gameplay looks smooth, the boss battles look absolutely epic (sort of in the area of Shadow of the Colossus, I think, with the sheer size of them), and I really like the look of the special button-combo/press things to do finishing moves. Sort of like Mortal Kombat.

The game is a total God of War rip off. If it tried to do something a little more original I would be interested.

I first saw this in GameInformer a few months ago.

I like the mythomological concept, and I've never played God of War myself. Huzzah for non-cynicism!

Well, I've never played God of War myself, although I HAVE seen someone else play it. Can't say I noticed that many similarities, but hey, what do I know?

Mostly, I'm taken in by the poem part. And the awesome-looking scythe! It reminds me of Sparda's weapon that you get at the end of Devil May Cry.
