As the UK's new PM has become one of the latest of leaders to publicly condemn the actions of Israel in their raid of a flotilla of aid ships heading towards the Gaza Strip, I thought it was time to create a thread about it.

Obviously whose account to believe, the Israelis or the volunteers, but whatever the case, it turned out to be a pretty catastrophic turn of events for all involved.

Today the Israeli ambassador to the US likened the aid volunteers to the Nazi, which personally I think is a disgusting analogy, but it seems the Holocaust card is already in play.

Don't see the problem, Israel was trying to enforce it's Blockade, they came on expecting to turn them back and were not expecting a shit storm. The crew was prepared to give them a shit storm. They attacked the Israeli's and they had no other choice but to resort to their hand guns or get killed, seeing how they came down with only paintball guns expecting a relatively peaceful situation.

I misread this thread as 'Godzilla Raid.' You can imagine my confusion when I clicked the first link.

It amazes me to no end how everyone is/was condemming the Israelis before the whole story came out. First the two groups involved with the "peace activists" and the ships have ties to terrorists. Second there were at least one or two countries that refused to let them dock for that reason. Finally both the Israelis and the Egyptians offered to let them dock/enter the country if they would have allowed a full search of all ships involved. This offer was turned down. Now if you ask me why would you turn that down if you had nothing to hide?

Bottom line: don't judge the Israel until you know the whole story and more details are known. I especially love how some media outlets are reporting this to be a horribly violent act on the part of Israel, yet they entered the situation expecting "peace activists" and carrying mainly non-lethal weapons for the most part. Plus let's not forget the video that the IDF released with their troops landing on the ship and getting bashed in their heads with metal pipes and being tossed overboard. Those are the types of acts that don't seem "peaceful" to me :-/
