Silver and Emerald aren't compatible, or am I totally misreading your question?
Hi guys, I recently bought Pokémon Emerald of eBay and it says USA on the bottom, I am having trouble trying to get my Pokémon Silver (which is EU and so are my DSs) to recognise it to migrate the pokemon over. Although I have only just started my journey (but I am able to trade says the lady in the Poké-Centre) so I dont know whether that is the problem? Also I tried linking it up to my Pokémon Colosseum game (EU) and it says that it is connecting on the gamecube but it just takes forever, I think I left it for about an hour and it still didn't connect properly. I was trying to "go to adventure" so I could play Emerald on the Pokémon Box and still no dice. The GBA comes up with Pokémon Box but doesn't do anything apart from load for an hour and doesn't actually load. I know that GBA games have no reigon lock and everything but is there any particular reason why the DS can't see it to migrate or why the thing takes forever to not actually load? Am looking forward to seeing your help.

Well for some reason Silver can't see Emerald. So I'm wondering if its because the games from the USA. And thats having a knock on effect on the other games.
Gameboycolor games and GameboyAdvance games aren't compatible, so there is no way you can trade over something from Silver to Emerald.
Do you mean SoulSilver? I remember hearing that in order to migrate from a Gen 3 game to a Gen 4 game, they have to be from the same region. However, two Gen 3 games can trade with eachother regardless of their region, so if you happen to have an EU copy of another Gen 3 game you can always trade to that game and migrate from there.

AH yes sorry I forgot. Yeah SoulSilver. It seems everytime I put the cartridge in the DS from the GBA it erases all data even if i started the journey on the DS.![]()
Did you get to Pal Park on Pokemon SoulSilver?
Before you can migrate Pokemon from one of the GBA games to one of the DS games, you have to visit Pal Park in the DS game when it's up and running (I think you need the National Pokedex first).
The other thing I'm slightly curious about, your Pokemon Emerald game's battery isn't dying or dead, right? I'm guessing the battery is fine, but if it's low on power, that may be another problem there.

Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald don't use save batteries like the Gen I and II games did, they have flash memory for their saves, so the age of the cart shouldn't be an issue.
