    Default for us oldies :)

    How to be a 20-something

Thought it was cute and pretty spot-on. I really laughed at the comment about the duvets, since I had no idea what a duvet or a top sheet really were until I started working at my current job and had to start selling them!

Seize the day guys. We've already matured enough to know that there's no such thing as staying the same. Change is good. Be happy. If you live in a shitty apartment in the ghetto be proud of the fact that you're on your own. Most other 20-somethings don't wash their sheets once a week either. Listen to lots of loud, wailing music 'cuz how many old people do you know that do?

....Finally get off your ass and work out after reading this post. Losing weight only gets harder.

I've dropped about 100 lbs. It's easier for guys than girls.

Also, despite what the article suggests, I've never had acne. I don't really find a lot of the satire to apply to me. I am married, own a house, and I'm the Purchase & Supply Administrator for the largest community bank in Virginia. Not bad for being 25.

Not much of this actually applied to me either but I think I'm just a freak. I never hated my parents or saw them as ruining my life because as a teenager I was already being forced to deal with adult problems. I never randomly dated people just for the sake of it, because I can't imagine wasting time with someone I don't love. I didn't get to go to a 'good school' that my parents paid for, I have to pay for my own college now, so I don't take success for granted. I have more good friends that I can count on at this point in my life than I did in high school or my early 20's. I'm not permiscuous, I've never smoked pot, and I know what a duvet cover is, AND OWN ONE!

I do however love candles, want to marry and start a family in the not too distant future, travel and see the sights with my friends and the one I love, invite my parents over for a nice homecooked dinner, strive to succeed and grow at work and in my classes, take up new sports and new hobbies, and volunteer my time and talents to causes that are close to my heart. This year I will be 27, but maybe according to this paper I just skipped over my 20s and have been in my 30s for a few years now XD

Despite the fact it didn't strike home or make me feel nostalgic, it was fun to read that to kinda see what a 'normal' 20 something is like.

None of this applies to me. Except for the living with my parents bit, I don't make enough to move out by my self. :|

Eh, I can see how this would apply to alot of people, but not everything. I moved out of my dad's place when I was 25, and I'm going to be married in 3 months. I currently live in an apartment in the "kind of" ghetto, and am moving to the "Mature and Gentrification" apartment on April 1st. I never dated anyone for the sake of dating and a warm body, but I did have a few flings in college in between girlfriends.

<rant> I think it's a little rude to include the bit about dating a Republican in the article. Politics have zero relevance in the entire article, and it's a bit of an obvious cheap shot. Not all members of the party opposite yours are "bad people". </rant>

I have a good job as a Recruiting Director for an Educational Staffing Company, but up until last May I was Asst Manager at a Papa Johns.

I agree with some of the article, but other parts of it are a bit of a stretch I think. The author should do a better job masking his/her sarcasm too.

Not sure whether I should commit suicide or feel proud that a lot of that shit doesn't apply to me.

I actually find it kind of funny that it doesn't include something about job turn over in there 'cause you do tend to switch jobs a lot unless you can put up with the job you're at for an extended period of time.
