Default Goodnight! (nsmbwii versus crown34) (REF: Oslo)

    1 on 1

    DQ: 6 days

Arena: Port Royal from Kingdom Hearts 2, the area itself is based off of the 1st Pirates of the Carribean movie. The area is surrounded by a portion of the ocean, and is pitchblack in darkness.

Despite this, you have a little bit of (unwilling) help from the local Heartless! An Illuminator floats by your Pokemon and helps brighten the area, but if attacked, it will run away for a round. It can be useful to see where you are going, but it also makes you an easy target for others.

The challenger chooses their 1st Pokemon, and I attack 1st.

Alright Crown... I'll send out Stitches, my male Cacnea with Sand Veil.

Stitches, start this off with Leech Seed, then Worry Seed him. Finally Dark Pulse the creep.

If he tries any status mumbo jumbo, switch a move with Magic Coat.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 1 ‡

Welcome to Port Royal! This lovely seaside settlement will serve as the location for a blistering Pokemon battle between two esteemed trainers, Nsmbwii and Crown34. What kind of battle will be fought? What kind of show will they put on? Whose dreams of victory will be destroyed like so many doomed ships against these rocky bluffs! Let’s find out!

Crown34 is the first to release, summoning a wide-eyed phantom to the field. Nsmbwii retaliates with a squat little cactus. They’re each joined by an illuminating imp that hovers behind them. Cool! Time to get this match underway!

Stitches begins by spitting out a shimmering green seed that flies through the air toward Dusclops. The Beckon Pokemon dekes to the right in hopes of avoiding the attack, but his movements aren’t quite fast enough: the Leech Seed latches onto Dusclops’s shoulder and refuses to budge. Uh-oh.

    Stitches: <-6 EP>
    Dusclops <LSd>

Not quite finished with his gardening, Stitches attacks his foe with a second seed, this one black and glowing. It takes root right beside the Leech Seed and begins exerting its own mysterious influence over the specter. Dusclops balls up his fists in rage until one of them erupts with orange flames. He trudges toward Stitches and assaults the wee Cacnea with a Fire Punch, sending the little guy skidding back in the sand.

    Stitches: <-12 HP; -6 EP>
    Dusclops <-6 EP; WSd>

Stitches crosses her arms sternly. Well, two can play at that game, Mister! Suddenly, the little cactus lets Dusclops have it by targeting him with a black surge of energy. Dusclops doubles over as the Dark Pulse strikes, fuelling his desire to exact vengeance. He approaches Stitches once more and thrusts his arms forward, once more sending the Cacnea tumbling backwards. Rude!

    Stitches: <-8 HP; -8 EP>
    Dusclops <-12 HP; -6 EP>

The Leech Seed shines, draining Dusclops of health <-3 HP> before transferring it to Stitches <+3 HP>.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 2 ‡

The next round begins with a fun little trick: Stitches hops in the sand and does a quick spin, causing three Cacnea clones to materialize out of nowhere. Dusclops, now a little bewildered, shuffles up to one of them and goes for a Fire Punch. The flaming swipe slices cleanly through the illusion, thereby destroying it. Stitches and his clones share a look of relief.

    Stitches: <-6 EP; 2 clones>
    Dusclops <-6 EP>

Anticipating his foe’s next move, Stitches darts forward with a ridiculously fast Sucker Punch. The strike hits Dusclops’s belly and the ghost doubles over. He looks back up in a hurry to try and see which of the clones caused the hit, but he can’t tell. Taking another guess, Dusclops goes for his second Brick Break of the battle—which, too, eats clone. Stitches’s Illuminator giggles, clearly amused by the proceedings.

    Stitches: <-8 EP; 1 clone>
    Dusclops <-12 HP; -6 EP>

Rinse and repeat: Stitches bounds forward for a second Sucker Punch, this one hitting with as much success as the last. At this point, Dusclops is downright pissed off. Letting out some frightening hoodoo ghosty roar, he barrels toward one of the Cacneas and absolutely smokes the thing with an Ice Punch. Of course, it manages to hit the real deal and Stitches is tossed back into a rock. Ow. The remaining clone sadly vanishes having witnessed the assault of its master.

    Stitches: <-12 HP; -8 EP; 0 clones>
    Dusclops <-12 HP; -6 EP>

The Leech Seed activates again, sucking Dusclops dry <-3 HP>. Stitches cheers <+3 HP>.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 3 ‡

Pleased with how things are going, Stitches just keeps on truckin’ and unleashes a black beam of light at his foe. Dusclops suddenly stops cold, dazed momentarily by that attack.

    Stitches: <-8 EP>
    Dusclops <-12 HP; Fln>

Yay flinch! Stitches does a little dance and decides to go for broke, aiming another Dark Pulse at Dusclops. Though the attack still does formidable damage, sadly Dusclops is not rendered incapacitated and proves this happy fact by thrusting his fists at Stitches. The little Cacnea skids backwards in the sand and thanks his lucky stars he hasn’t yet evolved into Cacturne or else those Fighting-type attacks would really start to hurt.

    Stitches: <-12 HP; -8 EP>
    Dusclops <-12 HP; -6 EP>

Dusclops raises an icy fist, ready to wallop that Cacnea something nasty. However, Stitches vanishes on the spot. Dusclops blinks. The hell? Without warning, Cacnea reappears behind Dusclops and assaults the Ghost-type Pokemon with a full-bodied tackle that is simply bristling with sparkling black energy. Dusclops retaliates by hitting his foe with that Ice Punch he’s been charging. Suddenly, as the move makes contact, ice crystal materialize around Stitches and trap him within an icy tomb. Dusclops’s Illuminator giggles. Not good.

    Stitches: <-12 HP; -6 EP; Frz>
    Dusclops <-9 HP; -6 EP>

Dusclops mutters as the Leech Seed torments him further <-3 HP>. Though Stitches is Frozen, he still reaps the benefits <+3 HP>.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 4 ‡

As Stitches remains frozen within all that ice, Dusclops waits for his cactus foe to do something to thaw himself out and… nothing. Hrm. Giving a shrug, Dusclops strikes at the ice prison with another Ice Punch. The reverberations travel through the ice and make their way to Stitches who I’m sure can definitely feel them.

    Stitches: <-12 HP>
    Dusclops <-6 EP>

Once again, Dusclops strikes the ice with another powerful punch. How long can Stitches take this?

    Stitches: <-12 HP>
    Dusclops <-6 EP>

Suddenly, the ice begins to melt. Large chunks begin to break away from the whole until Stitches can finally wriggle free, climbing out of the ice. Once again, he’s ready for battle. He decimates Dusclops with another Dark Pulse while the Ghost merely retaliates with yet another Ice Punch. Fortunately for Stitches, he does not return to his frozen state. That would be a bitch.

Stitches: <-12 HP; -8 EP; Frz no more>
    Dusclops <-12 HP; -6 EP>

The Leech Seed drains a little health from Dusclops <-3 HP> and transfers it to Stitches <+3 HP>.

    ‡ Round 5 ‡

It ends here. Dusclops’s fist bursts with icy energy; however, before the bulky ghost can take a step toward his cactus foe, Stitches vanishes on the spot. Dusclops blinks. That is, unfortunately, the last he ever sees of the little Cacnea who materializes behind him only to bring him down with a mighty Faint Attack.

    Dusclops keels over. That’s that.
