Round 1

The two competitors are sent out as Razor Leaf and Cutsie Pie greet each other and send out their pokemon, ready to defile and desecrate an ageless monument! Should be a good time!

Joltik starts things off by scurrying away, skittering behind a stone pillar. Ponyta pays it no mind, lifting her head to the sky, causing clouds to part and sun to shine brightly. Unseen to the horse, however, is that Joltik has constructed a clone of its' own to take attacks. (-15% Joltik, Sub +15%, 7% energy, both competitors).

Ponyta snorts and stamps a bit, as her "opponent" shuffles from behind the stones. With a whinny, she opens her mouth and releases a jet of flame, searing hot, and destroying the substitute almost instantly. Ponyta is a bit shocked by how little of a fight Joltik puts up...causing her to not suspect the jolt of thunder that causes her muscles to seize up! Ponyta turns to see an adorable little spider smiling innocently, as its' fuzzy body dissipates the spark. (4% energy Joltik, 18% damage Substitute, 6% Energy Ponyta)

Joltik leaps back, and begins to stir up an annoyingly high pitched screech, both trainers covering their ears as the high pitched squeal wreaks havoc on Ponyta's eardrums. Ponyta, however, does not seem too dazed, and manages to just barely loosen her msucles enough to let rip with another blast of intense fire, engulfing the poor Joltik with a jet of flame. (17% damage Joltik, 5% Energy, 6% damage Ponyta, 7% Energy)

Quick word of warning to my battlers (Now that it's relevant): To keep things fresh (and interesting), using the same move multiple times in a row will have diminishing returns (increased energy for decreased damage). It starts small, but it will add up.
This is more a word of caution for how I ref than chewing anyone out, really. If you feel your best course of action is Thunderbolt x3, go right ahead! I'll set a cap (usually the high end of the lower damage and low end of higher fatigue)
HOWEVER, this is in a row. So if your orders are "Psychic ~ Recover ~ Psychic", there's no penalty.

Round 2

The second round starts with a flash (and an Anchorman reference because Will Ferrel is always appropriate), as Joltik darts around the arena, refusing to stay in one place for more than a moment. Ponyta calms her mind as Faraday darts around, however, and opens her eyes with a glowing yellow pulse. An errant look is all it takes as Faraday finds her little legs to be far too heavy, yawning and taking an adorable little nap. D'awww. (-7% energy Joltik, SLP; -3% Energy Ponyta)


Ponyta stamps her feet as her muscles begin to tense up. She bites her lip (figuratively, of course) and fights through it, managing to just barely avoid her muscles seizing up. She lets loose a jet of flames, blazing through the Joltik. Again, no resistance, but this time for good reason, as Faraday is sent tumbling back. Oof!
(-17% Joltik, SLP; -6% Energy Ponyta)

Ponyta waves her tail back and forth, muscles seizing up completely this time, as Joltik sound slumbers in his burning bed. The two battlers end the round the exact opposite of how it all began, with no actions being taken.
