Good day, kind ladies and gents of Indigo Stadium! Here, in that most wonderfully vanilla of all arenas, an epic battle will take place. How do I know it’ll be epic? I don’t, but fingers crossed. The two fiery competitors take to the field: Grass-type specialist Ayeun will be taking on Asilynne who has a vaguely Wheel of Time-ish signature and, zomg, so much Robert Jordan love. Well, ladies, let’s tarry no further! Time to begin!

The battle music begins as Ayeun and Asilynne pluck identical Pokeballs from their belts or bags or whatever. The field is alive with red flashes of light as the former trainer summons a colourful butterfly into the fray while the latter opts for a widdle wingless birdie. D’aww! This Hoenn-esque battle begins as Beautifly tries to amp up the charm. Colonel Sanders appears momentarily mesmerized by his opponent’s Attract but remains centered just enough to Dig away to safety! Before the move can take hold, Colonel Sanders zips away out of sight. Beautifly rolls her eyes.

With no target to Stun Spore, Beautifly calms bides her time and waits for Colonel Sanders’s inevitable reappearance. Her patience pays off: the ground begins to stir as the Torchic appears from the earth and tries to send her foe flying! Of course, since Beautifly is already Flying, the move doesn’t make contact. D’oh! Motivated by the birdie’s misstep, Beautifly gently flaps her wings, thereby unleasing a glittering swathe of golden powder. It settles over Colonel Sanders’s body and takes hold, causing his muscles to feel a little rigid. Not good.

Beautifly taps into some hidden wellspring of Psychic potential and hoists Colonel Sanders up into the air. Then, with some vigorous mental hoodoo, she sends the screaming Torchic in circles around the arena before eventually letting go. The Fire-type Pokemon slams into one of the barriers and stumbles backward in a daze. Giving her head a shake, she stares down Beautifly as bloodlust fills those oh-so-adorable eyes. Opening her little beak, Colonel Sanders manages to breathe out a crisp trail of fire sets the Buggie ablaze. Chirping madly, Beautifly writhes in the air until the flames are extinguished. Mmm, what smells like fried chicken?

The second round kicks off as Beautifly targets her opponent with a sudden Shadow Ball. The swirling ball of darkness hits Colonel Sanders right in his little beachball head, causing him to stumble back in a daze. When at last he’s regained focus, the Colonel hops into the air and does a little acrobatic spin. Beautifly watches as the Torchic comes out of the spin with her talons glistening fiercely. She lashes out with a speedy slash before landing with perfect form.

Colonel Sanders: <-8 HP; -4 EP>

Fluttering low to the ground, Beautifly squirt out a gooey blast of some noxious purple substance. Colonel Sanders lets out a squeal as the Venoshock washes over his body painfully, though his attempt to land a counter-strike is brought to a sudden end. Paralysis rears its ugly head and renders the Torchic completely and utterly immobile.

Beautifly, digging the momentum she’s been building her, soon glows with Psychic energy. The Butterfly Pokemon causes poor Colonel Sanders to soar up to the tallest heights of the stadium before releasing him, turning the poor birdie into a meteor screaming toward the earth. He collides with a painful impact, causing his Special Defence stat to take a hit. As Colonel Sanders peels himself off the floor of Indigo Stadium, he somehow remains optimistic. His optimism manifests itself in the form of brilliant sunshine which spills out over the match.

Taking immediate advantage of her foe’s ailing Special Defence, Beautifly keeps up the Psychic barrages. She throws Colonel Sanders backwards with immence force, causing him to once again slam into one of the barriers without reprieve. Colonel Sanders pulls himself up and eyes his attacker not with steely determination but rather with… a wink and a giggle? The hell? The flirtation seems to work: Beautifly swoons midair, very clearly falling for her opponent.

Beautifly keeps up her strategy of damage, damage, damage with another Shadow Ball. The dark, mesmerizing sphere does ample damage to Colonel Sanders who responds by commanding an onslaught of rocks to crash downward from the ceiling. They pile upon Beautifly, causing the Butterfly Pokemon to squeal and writhe in pain.

The match enters a stand-still as Beautifly wriggles free from the rocks but is to overcome by infatuation to attack. Colonel Sanders, likewise, feels his body go rigid with Paralysis. They thus engage in a weird-ass staring contest under the harsh sunlight instead.

The next round kicks off as Beautifly once again flies low and dispenses a little powdery justice, this time to invoke drowsiness. Colonel Sanders feels his eyelids grow heavy as the pale powder speckles his orange feathers with white, but stumbles forward to attack anyway. Just as mass drowsiness begins to take hold, the desperate Torchic just barely manages to throw himself forward into a Flame Charge. The attack collides with a boost from the blazing sun and, as Beautifly is sent reeling, Colonel Sanders succumbs to Sleep.

Beautifly now has complete supremacy of the field as she shows more of her Psychic prowess. Fighting through her infatuation, she causes an invisible hand of Psychic energy to squish Colonel Sanders into the ground as hard as possible. Still Sleeping, Colonel Sanders let outs a few weary cheeps.

Beautifly tries to keep up her offence, but that handsome Torchic lying there all hot and sleepy-like is just impossible to resist. Instead, she flutters down to his side and composes sonnets about his eyelashes. Do Torchics have eyelashes? Dunno, but either way, Beautifly is writing about them.

The sun continues to blaze as Beautifly perches and begins to concentrate in an attempt to overcome her Attraction to Colonel Sanders. However, the effects of love are simply too strong to simply be forgotten about and the attempt therefore fails. Colonel Sanders, meanwhile, begins to babble in his sleep. The Torchic then leaps up and drills Beautifly with a sudden Peck of his beak! The audacity of that slumbering farmbird!

Colonel Sanders: <-2 EP>

Colonel Sanders suddenly wakes up and is met with an unpleasant surprise: complete and total Paralysis lock-down. Rigid and stiff, he finds himself unable to do anything as Beautifly fights through her ongoing Attraction and tosses him around the stadium like a feathery orange basketball.

Colonel Sanders: <-11 HP; Can’t move!>

A little dazed, Colonel Sanders lets out an aggravated cheep and breathes out a gale of piping-hot wind at Beautifly. The Bug-type shrieks as the sun-boosted heat consumes her, but she manages to once more fight past those feelings of L-O-V-E and toss the Torchic upward with another Psychic flourish. Shrieking, Colonel Sanders flies up and then descends like a falling star.. and lights up with a Blazing light like one, too. With a thud, she lands hard on the ground. Eep.

Sunny Day's effects end as our surroundings goes slightly dim.
