Hello all. This is a smilie fic^__^ Its a work in the process, a mix of light hearted drama with a few laughs. I refrain from calling it comedy because I'm not very funny usually but here goes.

I hope you all enjoy.

Episode One: The Newbie

~A~

“Hi, welcome to Damo’s. My name is Jackson what can I get for you?”

“Hrmm…” (Thinks hard) “I’m not quite sure. What would you recommend?”

“I recommend that you order!” (Impatiently)

“…?”

“Heh…. Heh… She’s just kidding, no really, she’s a real joker that Teej… she’s just mucking around… I’m so sorry.”

“I’m not kidding! What do you want? Come on!”

“Maybe… I’ll come back later…” (backs away slowly and leaves)

“Why does everyone have trouble ordering? Sheesh What’s wrong with people, Jackson?”

“Oh, I wouldn’t have a clue…”

“Jackson, Teej, can I see you in my office?”

“Sure thing Damo. Have I told you that you look great today?”

“You’re such a kiss ass Jackson!”

“As opposed to just an ass.”

“Huh?”

“So. I’ve decided to hire someone new. I think we could do with an extra team member.”

“Great! Hire someone young, fit, single, good looking…”

“Hello? I already work here!”

“…. No.”

“We’ll be trailing some people tomorrow, so get ready. And be nice.” (looks at Teej)

“What?! I’m ALWAYS nice!”

“Hi boss!”

“Can I get a large latte please?”

“Sure thing, boss!”

“Um….”

“That’s five dollars boss.”

“Why do you keep calling me boss?”

"Don't call the lady customers boss..."

“HELLO WELCOME TO DAMO’S.”

“Um…. Hi.”

“WHAT CAN I GETS FOR YOU?”

“Um.... a small cap please"

"NO WORRIES!" (turns to Teej) "ONE SMALL CAP PLEASE"

"Don't you speak to me like that!"

(sigh)

"Hewo. Welcome to Damo's. Can I takes what you want?"

"Hey man can I have a soy flat white?"

(looks at touch screen) (runs to Jackson) "Excews me, but whats a soy fwat white?"

"Learn to speak properly!"

"..."

"I don't know. That's almost the whole list of applicants."

"You can't be serious. They were the best?"

"Well, there's one more coming in..."

"Hi, I'm here for a trial shift...?"

(jaw drops to floor)

(raises an eyebrow) "Have you ever worked with coffee before?"

"Not really... I once worked at a cafe... but didn't stay there for long."

"How come?"

"Oh, lots of things. Dodgy bosses, poor training, silly pay."

"Well, Jackson, do you want to see how she goes?"

"You bet I want to see how she goes!"

"Jackson you are disgusting and sick!"

(giggles)

"Hi, welcome to Damo's. My name is Rachel. Can I help you?"

"Sure... I'm not sure what I want though?"

"Did you want to try a caramel latte? They're nice on afternoons like this one."

"Hmmm.... sure."

(whispers to Teej) "She's amazing! Hardly any training needed!"

(whispers) "She'll crack. Just you wait." (grins)

Huhuhuhu ... fun read! I love seeing a smiley fic back on TPM. More, we need more!

These were fun ... I loved the newbie coffee peoples, the Furret with the cute speech impediment and the typically male character of Jackson. For some reason the smiley for the Grimer makes me crack up: IT'S LIKE IT'S SCREAMING WITH HAPPY NEWBIE JOY.

I had a great time at Damo's; I shall certainly return for the next cup of hot, comforting coffee.

Wed ~ I didn't realise you'd never seen a smilie fic before. The first one I ever wrote was called Living in Pichu's House. That's around somewhere, just search it up. I'm glad you find it cute! ^___^ I don't know why you like the Ekans though ^___^

Kyuuketsuki ~ The saddest part about that person calling ladies boss was that we had a trainee do just that. Sigh! Every time a customer walked in, he would say "hello boss" regardless. To tradies and stuff, that's ok, but to smart business women?? Ermmm awkward!

Gav ~ Yay I'm glad you enjoyed it too! My characters are actually exaggerated personalities that I already work with; so Jackson, Rachel and Teej are all based on people at my store. Jackson is pretty much wanting to be a "man", and desperately trying to get with any pretty girl. Damo is.. well I'm not sure what role I'm going to have Damo play. He might just be a voice of reason every now and again... Or a witty side character... Not sure. But yeah

Mew Master ~ What is your name anyway? I'm bored of typing Mew Master. Lol I might just type MM ANYWAY... I've never seen bob from monsters vs aliens but the grimer smilie makes me giggle. I quite liked it

Wasn't it called "The Misadventures of Hiro" where the GSC Boy sprite was used as the main antagonist and basically made fun of the GSC storyline?

There was one by A Grilled Fish, but it wasn't The Misadventures of Hiro. It was one about a Magikarp.

I remember Living in Pichu's house. It was fun to read. And so it this one.

I liked the part where the Rhydon asked for a small cap.

I remember A Grilled Fish ... Man, what happened to everyone? The magikarp fic was funny from memory.

Was it The Adventures of [something parodying Ash Ketchum] and his friends, Cloudy and Sock!? That was a parody, can't remember if it was a smiley fic or not.

Tara: I like the personality exaggerations. With the boss thing, I thought he was only calling the females 'boss', and I thought he was like ... subserviant to them or something. Makes much more sense now with the explanation you gave to Kyuu.
