Well I don't know how many of you have listed 'persons who inspire you' (or whatever is the English term used, my Facebook is in Finnish) on Facebook, but if you haven't you still can tell about them in this thread.
Here are some of mine:
Fjodor Dostojevski
An appreciated Russian writer whose book Crime and Punishment saved me when I had to choose a book from a list at school.
J.R.R. Tolkien
Read my fanfic Maids Of Might. It's essentially a Tolkien parody. Also note I read the books much before I watched the movies.
Kazuki Takahashi
I have to admit I haven't watched much of Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, but I'm a fan of the early manga drawn by this great mangaka.
Mika Waltari
A Finnish writer who never visited Egypt but managed to write an awesome book called Sinuhe The Egyptian. I don't recommend you to watch the Hollywood movie about it, it sucks, but the book, on the other hand, is fantastic. I read it for the first time when I was 11. It had a big influece on the comics I drew.
Naoko Takeuchi
Sailor Moon. I'm still waiting for a message from a Finnish manga publisher if they decide to ask me to translate these from Japanese to Finnish.
Nikolai Gogol
Dead Souls = great humor.
Nobuo Uematsu
This person is responsible of one of the greatest videogame soundtracks ever. I should list also all my favourite Classical music composers here though, I don't just know where to start.
Satoshi Tajiri
The father of Pokemon. According to Wikipedia, he has an asperger so he's like a soulmate to me in that aspect as well.
Shigeru Miyamoto
I'm not so much of a Zelda fan, but Mario on the other hand, Mario!!
I'll maybe post more later.
People who inspire me:
Stan Lee, co-creator of several superheroes I like. A couple friends of mine even got him to record a personal message to me. That is so cool, isn't it?
Anyway, let's see...
Not many movie stars inspire me. Or celebs in general. A lot of my friends on TGWTG do. There'd be too many to list. I would say Doug himself inspires me. However, that's too cliche at this point. Besides, on that site, it's best to be inspired by friends who can and will help you out. No matter where they are on the totem pole.
I'm inspired by some artists like Conor Oberst, but also the Obama family is inspiring as wellas far as TV goes, I think Jon Stewart is brilliant, I respect when someone can sarcastically rant and crack jokes with a completely serious face on.

You Are Awesome.
I have a lot but, here's a few:
Linus Torvalds - Author of the Linux Kernel
Richard Stallman - Creator of the Free Software Movement
Jarkko Oikarinen - Creator of IRC
Other inspirations are probably various co-workers who are much much more experienced than me.
Must resist whoring out my country...
Failed! But I didn't even remember about Oikarinen!
I see some of you would list here also their friends and colleagues so I must point out that all the girls I have had a crush on fall into this category as well.
Alan Watts, John Lennon, Carl Jung, Larry David, Trey Parker, Jerry Seinfeld, Stephen Fry, kurai, my mother.
