Military has always been able to be used domestically (National Guard anyone?). They did use troops to force desegregation in the South, remember?
All they are doing is defining policies for stuff that is already in practice.
As of May 13, the Department of Defense is now able to bypass Posse Comitatus and take part in domestic situations like insurrection, civil unrest, public disasters, etc.
As far as I understand, this mandate (not bill) is illegal. And its implications make me more nervous than they should.DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE
