Things should be starting up in the next few hours. Figured I'd get a topic going for it just in case anyone wishes to discuss any of the big news that is likely to come out of there. Overall for those of you who are interested in the convention what is it that you are hoping to see or are looking forward to?

For me answer should be obvious: it goes without saying that a WoW expansion will be announced. The real question however is what is the thing going to be called? Normally we see the title leaked due to trademarks getting filed months in advance but this time around I don't think anyone is 100% sure. There was The Dark Below filed in the normal window but then Blizzard seemingly decided to get cute with their trademarks since they obviously know it's one of the things folks will keep an eye on (obviously no one expects the next expansion to be called Corgis Unleashed but it still ranks up there as a big WTF moment ). Since then we've had Reaper of Souls which I myself pegged as Diablo related before it was indeed confirmed as a D3 expansion. Finally in the last week we have Warlords of Dranor getting filed worldwide.

I think at this point WoD is the safe bet for the next WoW expansion title but it does raise a curious question: why wait so late to file this time? Obviously trying to keep it under wraps is one goal. However there's a massive issue regarding what happens if the name gets grabbed by another company. Since the title itself does reference Dranor/Outland I think it's one of the few times Blizzard may have felt safe with such a late filing.

As for what it'll be about? I'm thinking a possible Cata style revamp of Outland since it is currently the oldest content in the game. I've also heard rumors of a time travel based expansion since Dranor is what Outland was known as before it was destroyed. Rather than make wild guesses however I think I'll just sit back and wait.

Either way I'll be making a stop at Gamestop later to drop my first $5 down on a pre-order once it's officially announced

Well looks like WoD is indeed the new expansion for WoW. Ton of stuff to cover so I'm just going to link the trailer and WoW panel for now. I'll edit in bullet points a bit later for anyone wanting to see things at a glance or who wants to know about a specific feature.

World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor


Time travel expansion dealing with an alternate timeline/dimension where Draenor never became Outland. Garrosh prevents the orcs from becoming corrupted by the Legion and becomes the leader of a new "Iron Horde." His intent is to link the timelines/dimensions, destroy the Alliance/Vol'jin's Horde and take Azeroth for his own Horde.

Feel free to discuss other aspects of the convention but keep in mind since I'm not as familiar with Blizzard's other IP's that I may not be able to offer much in the way of discussion. If nothing really new gets added by Monday then I may simply convert this strictly into a WoD topic.
