Fighting is a Physical Attack. Not all types that are super effective against Rock are Special Attacks. For example, Ground and Fighting aren't.

physical: fighting, normal, rock, ground, steel, poison, bug, flying, ghost...

special: water, fire, ice, electric, psychic, dark, dragon, grass...

that is just off of the top of my head, if i am forgetting a type would someone list it... lol, anyways, they are not based on special being good on regular or whatever, they are based on types, all types are good(super affective) against some other type ('cept normal) and all types are bad(not very affective) against some other types... and some types are immune to one another...
