Is electrode worth using??

Is Electrode worth using? Mine has:

@focus band
-attk+spd
Explosion- i know he has yucky attack stat and - attk but its better to go ut with a bang when youre gonna die n-e-way than be killed.
Mirror coat
Thunderbolt
Screech/Light screen/?

He has got not great stats except speed, so should i use him?

Electrode isn't that bad. Screech + Explosion, the onyl way to pull off Expolsion on his low attack, is great and sometimes unexpected. Plus his High speed makes him a good anti-starter. Should you foe start out with a spike or a status inducer could coul really much them up. He ca also Pseudo Pass Light Screen which is nice. Now if he could only learn Reflect.

Electrode is the only Electric pokemon who doesn't learn Thunderwave. If it did it would have at least one use, paralyze starters before they get off safeguard. Needless to say, there are a lot of better choices around.

poor electrode. he was such a good thunderwaver, but now he can't do that, and he really has no offensive strength...he's more defensive, but his defenses are poor and he's very vulnerable to a common type... certainly there are better electrics out there, even with the crappy variety.

yup... and you wont be able to pull off a screech/thunderwave unless the opp is trapped, but i admit it is quite fun if its the last poke, lol... screech, screech, explosion, lol... just to rub it in, electrode isnt cmpletely unusable and sometimes making someone get a ground out worx to your benefit really well, if you know how to use it to your advantage and most do... but there are plenty better electric types out here, with much better movepools IMO... oh well... your guys choice, but its not completely undusable...

I've got an Electrode on my team, and i think you'll find that if you don't pick a Pokemon purely on what number is next to its attack you'll find that most (not all) when well trained and used properly can cut the mustard just fine. Electrode is one of these.

I used electrode for a very short time in my team (very very short) w/ tbolt, light screen, screech, explosion.

Usually it would go something like this.

Electrode used screech!
XXX's defense sharply fell!
XXX attacked electrode, and due to his crap defenses, he was almost KO'd.

XXX return!
Go Random rock,steel, or ghost pokemon!
Electrode used Explosion!
Random rock, steel or ghost pokemon laughs!



He is just too predictable, as everyone knows that you will use explosion after taking a hit/screeching

yeah but its fun with a meanlooker in 2v2, lol... my friend used that on me... confused both of my dudes, and will-o-wisped them so they didnt do much, then he screeched'em both rested and exploded... it sucked, he didnt win, but he did it...

no focus band doesnt work when you kill yourself

It's has a high speed so put powerful yet accurate moves on it.Put some strategy in the moves though.Use its speed to your advantage.

It's speed helped it as a start to screw with other starters. Mostly with Twave, now that it can't learn it. it basically sucks.
