As the E-reader hasn't been released in Australia yet and the only release date we've recieved was "Late 2003", I was thinking about importing one but first i need to know if an American E-reader would work on an Australian GBA?

DON'T IMPORT IT!
Your e-reader may (and probably will) work fine on you GBA since GBA games and accesories have no region lock. However, e-reader cards do have region lock, so if you import a US e-reader you'll only be able to use US cards with it.

Are you completely sure?So the E-card pokemon sets wouldn't work with it? Or is that just the E-card games like DK?
