The episode just ended. I would rate it a 9/10. Battle was pretty intense. I can't wait for the Blaziken vs. Charizard fight. Post your thoughts and discuss away!

Sweet battling episode. I loved how Keckleon used his tounge, he really does resemble a chameleon. Snorlax looked really funny when hypno used dream eater, and then the look on Hypno's face just before snorlax was priceless. Can't wait till the Charizard vs Blaziken battle, looks like its gonna be sweet. I give this episode a 9/10

I missed this episode because of nubby WB in Phoenix ;/ it pushed everything like two hours back, so pokemon was on at 7:00 AM :X It does this randomly, for no apparent reason...

I was kind of dissapointed with the battles, honestly. They were only a move or two long. Hopefully, Charizard Vs. Blaziken will be much longer and more enjoyable.

Well, here in California, the episode is at commercial brake. Here are some things I have noticed so far:

    1. Hypno's voice isn't right
    2. There was some new music
    3. They all acted like they have never seen a Kecleon before
    4. Deila has my exact digital camera, the Sony DSCP71, except it's silver!

Another good battling episode. Just a few minor problems:

    1. The narrator said that Harrison has Pokemon that Ash has never seen before. But Ash HAS seen both Kecleon and Blaziken prior to this battle.

    2. Harrison's Steelix used WRAP attack on Snorlax. Shouldn't it be Bind?

My one question: Why didn't Ash use Kingler in this match? All his other Pokemon got to fight in the conferece, yet Kingler only made a brief cameo. What's up with that?

I agree with you. I expected 6 vs 6 battles to be really detailed. The battle followed a pattern:

Kecleon Vs Pikachu: Pikachu wins. (Ash)
Sneasel Vs Pikachu: Sneasel wins. (Harrison)
Sneasel Vs Totodile: Totodile wins. (Ash)
Hypno Vs Totodile: Hypno wins. (Harrison)
Hypno Vs Snorlax: Snorlax wins. (Ash)
Steelix Vs Noctowl: Steelix wins. (Harrison)
Steelix Vs Snorlax: Snorlax wins. (Ash)
Houndoum Vs Snorlax: Houndoum wins. (Harrison)
Houndoum Vs Bayleef: Bayleef wins. (Ash)
Blaziken Vs Bayleef: Blaziken wins. (Harrison)

I hope the next episode is better.
Blaziken was definitely at a high level, and was really impressive. That's the only part I liked.

    I would rate it a 6/10.

The battles were too short. They weren't evenly paced like the Orange Island Leaque or Ash's battle with Gary. However, this is all to impress people with Blaziken's strenght in the next episode. I expect the next episodes eppie long battle will more then suffice for these short and undramatic battles.

Meh, considering Harrison is the kid from Hoen, then I'd expect him to have more Hoen Pokemon. Kecleon sure is cool...in the anime. Too bad in the video games that it can't turn invisible or use it's tounge for anything other then a pathetic lick attack.

I know that last week we saw a Magnitude work on Charizard, and that even though it is a flying type peopel argued that since it was on the ground then it was vulnerable to such an attack. Okaaay...but Noctowel was flying when Steelix used dig. Dig hit Noctowel pretty darn hard, and it should have had no effect.

This was an alright episode. The funniest part was Professor Oak's reaction to Totodile, "It appears...to be...dancing?" LOL!

Okay, so shiny Pokemon are evn more rare in the anime then they are in the video games. Ash releases his shiny Noctowel in front of millions of spectators, and no one blinks an eye. Even Jackson's Magneton got a word of amazment from the announcer that it was shiny. Has anyone ever noticed Noctowel is shiny after its introduction episode? Sheesh.

What really ticked me off was that Blaziken's beak never opened, and yet it was saying it's name like crazy. It looked weird. It needed to move its mouth when it talks. Does anyone else think this thing looks like a human wearing red pants and a mask? Since when do chickens have arms?

I don't mean to be so critical, but after the amazing episode last week I can't help but see this one as a step down. I'd give it a 7/10.

Yes! I commented that she's got a digital camera and not a film one when I watched it and heard it beep. That is so cool.

Next week? Charizard vs. Blaziken. Okay, fire vs. fire is a pretty even match..but Charizard is also a flying type and poor old Blaziken is fighting. Flighting can't stand a chance against flying. My money is on Charizard!

    1. Yes, that is an error. He has seen them alright.... *shrugs* but given that Harrison is from Hoenn, he could very well have used something Ash has never seen before.... besides, he never BATTLED a Blaziken or a Kecleon. The only R/S Pokemon he'd faced then are... Latias and Latios

    2. I think that was a dub mistake, given that in the Japanese version, they gave the name for Bind. I can name a few examples where they bastardized the attack names, such as Mary telling Mareep to use "Speed Star" which is the Japanese name for Swift, and Bugsy telling Spinarak to use "Poison String" which I think was either String Shot or Poison Sting.... I thing String Shot.

My one answer: Kingler was probably still injured, but yeah, he should have used it...

I enjoyed this episode, the battles were great. BUT, it looses about 10 points for Ash having Noctowl face a Steelix and loosing. It's one battle and it's chance to shine in the league, and it goes up against the one Pokemon that a Noctowl can't possibly defeat. It made me want to kill the writers with my new Hammer! They should make Noctowl win, please only for me?

I always felt that Blaziken did more of a internal growling/cooing that didn't require to open its beaks. And Blaziken doesn't need to feel down about being fighting. Remember, it can clear a 30 story building. That's like 300 ft.

I think they should have one of us kids help them when they dub the episodes, name the Pokemon, or name the attacks. I am sure most of the errors would go away then.

And for everyone betting your money on Charizard pulling off the victory, I suggest you get out of town and change your name so the betters don't come trying to get their money for Blaziken.

I LOVED IT! I give this 1 trillion/10. Its the most awesome battle I ever seen! And Blaziken's appearance was the best. I can't wait to see who wins

    The battle was okay.

    - Hypno using Dream Eater... that must be the 1st time it's used in the Anime. Looks very nice.

    - Totodile beating Sneasel was a surprise considering they overrated Sneasel in the previous episode. (Before the league started)

    - Poor Noctowl... so useless... lol

    - I loved the way Bayleef beat Houndoom. Really smart!

Other than that... most of the Pokémon fainted from 1-2 attacks which made it really darn short.

9/10 - Few dub errors but it's okay

Yeah, here's hoping in future games Pokemon with long tongues like Lickitung, Politoed and Kecleon get a powerful tongue move like Tongue Lash or something...

Doesn't it really make more sense that a giant snake exploding from beneath the ground would be able to strike something only about ten or twenty feet above it? I mean, would you think it would make sense for a Bonemerang by a Marowak to miss a Flying type just because it is a Ground type move? Really, it is quite logical that a Ground type move that moves through the air should be able to hit a Flying type.

What really ticked me off was that Blaziken's beak never opened, and yet it was saying it's name like crazy. It looked weird. It needed to move its mouth when it talks. Does anyone else think this thing looks like a human wearing red pants and a mask? Since when do chickens have arms?
Are you sure? I thought when it first came out it did open its mouth to issue a loud cry. Anyway, as someone else noted, birds don't need to open their beaks to make noises.

Next week? Charizard vs. Blaziken. Okay, fire vs. fire is a pretty even match..but Charizard is also a flying type and poor old Blaziken is fighting. Flighting can't stand a chance against flying. My money is on Charizard!
Except that Ash's Charizard doesn't know any Flying type attacks except Fly. Also, the anime hasn't paid any attention to Blaziken being part Flying type. So expect a very fierce, very even fight.

    Anyway, my thoughts:

Interestingly for once Ash seems to remember Kecleon, as he says its name and notices that it doesn't completely disappear without needing to be told by anyone.

Great battles, though not the best (not enough movement), the real fight is next week.

Technicality but still a dub error: Steelix can't learn Wrap, the move used on Snorlax was Bind. And Steelix has to be about the only Pokemon on earth capable of binding a Snorlax.

Things to note: This episode debuted Dream Eater and had a Hypno battle for the first time in the series AFAIK. Also, more Pokemon using unusual moves like Houndoom's Counter (an egg move in the game) and Sneasel's Metal Claw.

Delia appears to be getting a bit obsessive with that camera.

Another of Ash's Pokemon's gender's is proven(sort of)! Oak referred to Snorlax as a "HE!"

What kind of "building" do Jessie and James seek to build anyway? A TR base, a beauty salon, a TR base disguised as a beauty salon?

Blaziken was awesome, and clearly shows how high-level, fully evolved Pokemon are in a league of their own when it comes to battling. It was amzing how it tore apart Bayleef's Razor Leaves with a dizzying barrage of talon-tipped kicks, then caught her Vine Whip effortlessly before knocking her out in one blow.

Though Bayleef was very cute in how she celebrated winning over Houndoom. I've never seen her so happy!

And let's not forget Totodile's HAPPILIY INSANE DANCE OF GREEN WEASEL DEATH!!!!

I loved this episode! It was really good, the final battle of the Johto League!

Well, we saw Pikachu kick Kecleon out of the match, but Kecleon did manage to do some crafty moves with its tongue. Sneasel and Totodile was a funny match, Oak's comments to Totodile were funny. Noctowl is useless. Well, it isn't useless, the writers make it useless.

Blaziken and Charizard's match is gonna be the best ever.

    10/10!
