Zippo has evolved into a Charmeleon (I think) and they are all still hanging around with their Trainer. Okay, so you don't see them recently, but he has quite a few Pokémon (including a Larvitar). You won't see the same group every time.

Remeber, the last time Richie saw Ash, Ash had Charizard, Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Pidgeotto. Now Ash has Bayleef, Cyndaquil, Totodile and Noctowl. Different times, different teams. It is just one of the things that makes the world an interesting place to be.

And he also has either a Tentacool or a Spearow.

Of course...unlike some of the trainers we see...Ritchie's team changes as often as Ash's....atleast it appears that way. Last time we didn't see Happy...he may not even have it with him.

i think Butterfree may have elft, just like Ash's. it was the only Pokemon not sen in the saga, and it probably had Mating season, like ash's. dispite the fact Richie had Butetrfree after ashs's left, it is still probable mating season came around in the 3 years between the gang meeting Ritchie again.

We only see Zippo <yes hes a Charmeleon now>, Cruz <Pupitar>, and Sparky in the Lugia Saga. We really don't know what other Poke's he has now.

i think if he had any more Pokemon they would be shown; Richie has been reseaching Lugia ever since he finished the league.

It's possible Ritchie cab send his Pokemon to some professor as well. So he could have plenty of Pokemon behind the scenses. And as he was researching about Lugia for a long time and was on the Whirl Islands for all that matters, he could have caught some water pokemon. It could just be possible
