Tranformers: What happened?

I'm a HUGE transformers fan, and I've loved it since the early beginings. I remember witnessing the miracle of the ttransformers movie for the first time at a young age. The movie was unbelievable, and just recently i saw it again. But then it all went bad. I turn on Cartoon network, and what do i see? Transformers Armada, The Unicron Battles. I'm thinkin to myself, OMG, UNICRON!!!!!! and I watched it, but it was horrible. they've got a bunch of random transformers they made up for the series alongside the old favorites, fighting together??? And i see that a bunch of them get shot up on some planet by an Optimus prime copy, and then they get healed, and Megatron is like "Call me Galvitron from now on!" Now it may be just me, but I think they are struggling. At least stick to the roots and give us old-school fans something to appreciate. I mean I don't wanna see Galvitron and Optimus working together, I wanna see them shooting the F outta each other. And Unicron isn't supposed to be sitting there. Even in his planet form he should be killin everyone mindlessly. I'm very upset, and I want to see how many of you agree with me on this subject.

My take is that it is a completely different series than the original and through that point of view I have no immediate problem with it.

Personally, I hated transformers... But, I do however agree with your point...

The original Transformers was an American series, Armada is Japanese (an anime, actually). It's like an alternate universe thing. For more info, or to find a TF series you like better, talk to Animelee.

Beast Wars was awesome, Armada is just sad to watch. I actually have an old Rat Trap action figure.

im pretty sure The Original Transformers was an anime and Armada was english(i mean just look how bad the animation is)

Not all anime have better animation than cartoons.

No comments since i kinda forgot how the old one was, but if im right, the animation was similar to stuff like He-man, so i think Armada was anime. The new series seem to be anime too, judging by the animation.

Beast Wars was okay, Beast Machines better.

Transformers is American I believe.

And 'cartoons' aren't always inferior to Anime...Look at Futurama. I have yet to see an anime as funny as that without being off-the-wall. And the animation is beautiful. And it may be episode-to-episode, but the plots they develop are alot better than they could ever do over 20+ episodes.

I loved the Beast Wars! I collected all those toys, then they changed them to cars! Beast Wars was cooler, until they got all that futuristic stuff, then it got crazy!!!

both the original transformers AND Armada were Japanese made, but in Armada, americans remade a lot of scenes, drastically altering the quality.

Well I hear there's a follow-up series to Armada. I don't know much about it, but it's supposed to take place when the kids are grown up.

Are you sure that the original Transformers is a japanese cartoon. I'm almost postive it is an american cartoon. None of the human characters were drawn the way people are drawn in anime, plus none of the transformers shouted out their attacks which is common in animes.

Fett, you're picking at two of the biggest misconceptions in anime,

First, it doesn't look like "Drawn in anime" because it is an OLD cartoon, Also, I have reason to believe the americans messed with the original as well.

Second, THAT is the biggest misconception in anime, characters don't HAVE to shout their attacks before they shoot them, in a show like transformers, that would be pretty stupid if you ask me.
