Yea I know its really weird,I love Dustox but I cant get one :'(
ANy help?
What determines whether Wurmple will evolve into a Silcoon or Cascoon? And no, it's not whether it evolves during the day or at night, because I've gotten both during both times. It also has nothing to do with gender. What's left?

All I know is that I can only catch Silcoons during the day, and Cascoons at night. You might wanna just catch one at the right time...
Yeah, when I'm completing the Pokédex I just catch one Wurmple, evolve it and then catch a wild cocoon of the type it didn't evolve into. I'd love to know what determines it, though. Maybe it has something to do with the hidden value that determines gender/personality? If you have the time to experiment, try several different combinations of gender and nature and see if that yields any patterns...another hypothesis I have is whether the Wurmple used Tackle or Poison Sting more often, but I doubt that's it...

I know it has nothing to do with the amount of times an attack was used, because I used Rare Candies (I know, I cheat, sue me). The other ideas are good though.
I have a question, though: does the Nintendo Guide say how to get it to evolve one way or the other? Before we go out trying to do all sorts of crazy experiments, we might want to chek with those who made the game first...
