Big O Confusion

Well, since this is my sort of first time in this forum, I guess I should talk about my history with Other Anime. Let's see.....I have seen every show on Cartoon Network since it started airing 2 days before my birthday many years ago (I think it was in the early 1990's, like when I was 5 or something). Basically, every Anime that has been shown on Cartoon Network I have seen all the way through and totally followed.

Anyways, I have missed a few episodes of Big O and have not seen them in the right order. I've seen the beginning and ending eps, but I am so confused on the whole basic concept of it all. I know they lost their memories after a war 40 years ago and that Angel was the one to have caused everyone to forget their memories with her big robot thingy at the end. (how do you spell megaduce?)

So, can anyone explain to me any info that I should know about the characters to help me understand it better? Like with the police guy named Dostin and that whole red balloon thing. Also, are there still other places that exist out of the city? I know I have heard a French speaking lady.

It's spelled megadeus, which, now that I think about it, would've been cooler pronounced (day - us).

Anyway, I, too, have been a little lost on the plot twists and such, but, as much as I know, there is at least one more country from which Angel (and her leader) came from. Although I'm not sure what you mean by Dauston and the red balloon, unless it was from the episode with the ghost and the giant toy robot bomber. I hope this small bit helps!
