Just discovered that (at least in Sapphire) Counter will work vs a Hidden Power that is of an elemental type (in the case I encountered, HP Dragon).

Always thought that it depended on the type of HP, but obviously not.

Anyone know if this means Mirror Coat never works vs HP, even elemental types?

The same phenomenon occurs in GSC as well. Counter takes the type listed for Hidden Power in consideration - it's listed as Normal, even though it's obviously not - and since Normal is a physical type, all Hidden Powers are Counterable.

For the same reason, Mirror Coat will never work against a Hidden Power.
