    Default Battle Tower Pokes....

Yeah, it's been a while, but I've just developed a new appreciation for this game^_^

Anyway, I've recently started challenging the Battle Tower, and currently have 28 straight wins...

    My team consists of...

    Salamence, Lv. 50

    Dragon Claw
    Crunch
    Flamethrower
    Headbutt

    Metagross, Lv. 50

    Take Down
    Psychic
    Meteor Mash
    Iron Defense
(I added take down as well because of his Brave personality)

    Breloom, Lv. 50

    Mind Reader
    Headbutt
    Mega Drain
    Sky Uppercut

Now, thing is, Breloom's the weakest member of my team, seeing as I've come in contact with a few close calls. Now, I'm thinking of replacing him with

Milotic Lv 45(willing to raise it to Lv.50)

    Surf
    Attract
    Recover
    Ice Beam

...It has a Modest personality, which is a big plus(I would get a breeded one, but I've breeded so many Feebas that I have a box with ONLY Feebas in it....none of them are Modest, so I started catching some, and at level 22, I found a Modest Feebas..)

    BUT, It's stats...look pretty bad(I think)

    HP 156
    Attack: 64
    Defense 82
    SP. Atk 107
    SP. Def 133
    Speed 85

So....I'm not sure what to do...If these stats are bad, then should I spend my time trying to breed a Modest Feebas, keep Breloom and give it a better moveset, or keep this Milotic?

Just to let you know, Salemence is my front line fighter, Metagross second, Breloom third....I need a suggestion...I appear to have very bad luck when breeding Feebas....

Good team although i too dont much like breloom, youve given it a good moveset though.

Salamence always works, he is a bit like raquaza appart from the fact that you can enter the beast in the battle tower.

I love Metagross good dual type too.

I would suggest replacing breloom with Milotic, and dont look to down its stats arent that bad, no need to get a new one.

Keep up the good work and the gold shield will soon be yours.

You WILL get the nature you want. It helps if you pretend not to care. When the egg hatches, start watching TV. This will make your gameboy want attention, and it will give you the nature you desire so as to draw your attention. It took me 90 machops to find that one out, use the knowledge well. It really does work, I got my nincada's personality right on the 6th egg.

So....I guess it's kinda like when I was watching TV and training my first Milotic, going to face Ty & Gabby for the upteenth time across Mauville, where I ran into Latios in the water....^_^

Okay...I get your point...I'll try to breed a Modest Feebas...

Geez...another question though....After how many battles do you get Leftovers!? I have won 42 straight so far and it's ticking me off! I 've only recieved stat enhancers and a Focus Band....which I have already....

    Oh and ANOTHER question....

What is the maximum number of battles you can win in a row, and what are the prizes for winning the various incriments of 7 battles?

Return is an infinitely better choice than Take Down on Metagross.

Up to 35 wins in a row you get stat enhancers. Above that you get various hold items. Which ones you get are random - you could easily get Leftovers as the prize for 42 in a row.

I've not heard of a maximum for number of Tower wins in a row, though there must be some limit (255?) that the game can keep track of. My record is 104, and I consider myself lucky to have managed that.

I agree with Return instead of Take Down. More power (assuming your Metagoss is a happy camper, which is trivial to ensure), no recoil, more accurate.

Milotic will help the team - consider Double Team over Attract.

    Oh....dear...god....

    I STILL haven't gotten a Modest Feebas......

    Return....Hmm...My Metagross....

"It seems to be very happy.
It obviously likes you a whole lot."

Hmm.....and the Energy Guru plans to spontaneously go for it tomorrow, too.....

Is that status enough to be more powerful than Take Down?

    God...I need a Feebas...I'll try tonight...

Sorry to bother you guys again, but another quesiton....

What are the chances of finding a Pinsir/Heracross in the Safari Zone?

Your Metagross could be happier. At the highest level of happiness the message is:

"It adores you. It can't possibly love you any more."

Feed it pokeblocks that it likes and walk around with it with the Soothe Bell attached. I assume it has maxed out effort and so will not be able to benefit from power ups; but if not that's the way to go as well.

Pinsir & Heracross are both rare (5%), in seperate areas of the zone. It can take a few tries to get them. One of the zones needs the Mach bike to get to, so will not allow the bunny-hop trick to extend your search time (hopping on the spot will check for encounters each hop, but not count against steps taken).

Taking your Metagross with you on these expeditions is a good way to make it happy...

Soothe Bell? Check. I was aware of that message(I get it from all of my main pokémon) But I just wanted to know how I could up NeoTank's(Metagross) happiness...

Maxed out effort....that's through the use of Proteins, Carbos, etc.?

Ah, and what do you recommend, Leftovers or Shell Bell? I currently have a Shell Bell attached to Neo, which restores HP when I attack, but I suppose Leftovers is better because it restores every turn whether you attack or not?

Oh..and how many turns does it take to have an "uber" defense through the use of Iron Defense?

Shell Bell or Leftovers - no clear choice, except that you probably should have both in a Battle Tower team. Which ones get it depend on attack potential and HP (usually give Leftovers to the highest HP one.)

Iron Defense raises Defense by two stages each use, and the maximum alteration is +6 or -6 stages, so you will max out in three uses.

Leftovers may be the better choice if you plan to use Iron Defense - at least you will be getting back HP while you set up your Defense. I'd put the Shell Bell on Salamence in this case.

Consider Fly over Headbutt for Salamence - the 2 turn move does not matter as much in Battle tower since the computer opponents VERY rarely switch, and it is a reversable option. But with STAB it is his highest physical attack except Hyper Beam or Double Edge.

Hmm...I think I'd prefer Fly over Hyper Beam(TM) with the STAB....I'm usually made to regret all wasted turns using Hyper Beam, assuming the pokemon I use it on isn't taken care of....(knowing my bad luck)

I see your point with the Leftovers....Salamence is an all out attacker, so it's only logical to give the Shell Bell to her...By the way, can you obtain a Leftovers anywhere outside of the Battle Tower?

The only Leftovers outside of the tower are in one of the rubbish bins on the ferry. You only get access to that on your first ferry trip, so I assume you missed it. See if you can find someone to trade with - any Battle Tower junkie is likely to have a spare one or three.
