Default When Making a Ruby/Sapphire Team

I know I've posted multiple topics the past few days, but this is the last one. I hope I'm not annoying anyone with my questions.

Anyway, I'm curious. When you create a team, what do you make sure is included? Do you use a rough outline, or just go with what works?

I myself like to have a few certain types of Pokemon. It makes my team feel more ballanced, and that's how I like it. This is how I decide what to use.

    Fire
    Water/Ice
    Rock/Ground/Fighting/Steel
    Ghost/Psychic/Dark
    Electric/Grass
    Flying/Dragon

I find this generally works for a decent team. What do you folks require when you create a team?

I HAVE to have a fire, water, electric, and ground on my team. It depends if some of the pkmn are duel types for the rest of the team.

    Physical Sweeper
    Special Sweeper
    Physical Wall/Tank/Annoyer
    Special Wall/Tank/Annoyer
    Spiker
    Hazer/Roarer/Whirlwinder

I try to fit one from each of those Jobs in my team because then it turns out to work quite well because a Team of Sweepers can just be stopped by a Team of Tanks but those Tanks couldn't do anything alone.

I pretty much pick 2 or 3 base Pokemon, and build around those. I try to counter their weaknesses using types whose weakness the base ones can counter. Like a big web. I also try to go for different "jobs", and try as hard as I can not to repeat a "job," or at least not too many times. I've seen a lot of different styles too. Like building a team off of a game, movie, or element. Even I've made a water team, and an "anime Ash" sort of team.

I just slap together my personal favorites. I tend to go for strange bug, ghost and poison types so it doesn't work out too well, but even if I lose (which is often) I enjoy playing with pokemon I like. It's in the movepool, natures and EV's that I try to bring some balance and strategy to the deal.

At least 2 immunities to spikes.
    No triple weaknesses.

    Otherwise, it's pretty much open.
Dignity (n): the time elapsed between passing an attractive girl and turning around for another look.
