    Default final fantasy team help

im gonna make a final fantasy team for both ru/sa and fr/lg, and need help. i dont want to base it on specific final fantasy characters, rather on job classes.
    for example:

    Blissey
    White Mage
    Softboiled
    Heal Bell
    Ice Beam
    Thunderbolt

    Kecleon
    Thief
    Return
    Shadow Ball
    Substitute
    Focus Punch

please give me some ideas of pokes that could be used for this (and the job they correlate to), and ill post the final result when ive got my perfect team

Wow. This could be a very interesting theme team! You could try a lot of things, here.

Maybe as Thief, Kecleon could use the actual Thief attack? Or better, use Trick and give the opponent a Choiceband. Up to you really.

Anyways, you already have a White Mage, so I don't know if you'd want other kinds of mages... you could get a special sweeper and call it your black mage, unless you've got Blissey to cover that too.

You could have a Pokemon that knows Substitute... and that would be your summoner. Heheh.

As for warrior, dunno if you're looking for a real physical sweeper or one that actually resembles a warrior - Farfetch'd has a weapon! Metagross, Salamence, Flygon... warriors of the Pokemon world. Zangoose seems like it would fit well, perhaps?

I'll post later if I have more ideas! Right now I think I'll try and design a Viewtiful Joe team
    Working ;D

A Baton Pass Ninjask might make a good Bard. RPG Bards suck at fighting on their own, but they can enhance their teammates...

Well, Ninjask with Fury Cutter could make a good Ninja.

Blackbelt is entirely up to you, so you have a lot of choice. Hariyama, Medicham, Machoke. Any of them will work. Just make sure you have a move that uses fists and hits more than once.

I like Vigoroth as a Beast Master. Seems to fit for some reason.

Wobbuffet as a Defender. Destiny Bond, Counter, Mirrorcoat and...something else...

Umbreon as Dark Knight and Espeon as Paladin.

    Raichu as Engineer.

Bagon as a Dragoon. Bagon can't learn Hi-Jump in any way, can it?

You need a cuddly little berzerker. I recommend Zangoose.

The Dragoon's high-jump ability is best emulated by Fly or Bounce. You decide if it's worth it. Salamence, maybe, since it learns Fly naturally?

A more thiefy thief than Kecleon:

    Sableye
    Thief
    Snatch/Skill Swap
    Taunt
Shadow Ball (serious set)/Secret Power (theme set)

Actually, Secret Power could be used anyway, to keep them off guard as to what the heck Sableye is attacking them with (it may not be obvious). Very thiefy - low power attacks with useful effects.

I'd put Faint Attack ahead of Secret Power if you're going for sneaky attacks.

We're missing a key element, though. Who would be a good archer?

I'm thinking Dodrio, but I can't for the life of me think why.

Well, an archer should only use non-contact moves, but they should have a normal one, an attack boosting move, and two elements.

    Swift would be good.
    Ice Beam could work.
Flamethrower if you can get it on the same Poke.
    And...Bulk Up?

Can I just say that a Pokemon without at least one attack is bad because if this was the last Pokemon in battle it would stand no chance of winning. It has nothing to hurt the opponent not even Toxic. I think you should stick Psychic on there somewhere so it can at least do some damage if it needed to.

I avoided that because of already having Thief. Two Dark attacks leaves it more ineffective than it needs to be vs Dark, Fighting & Steel. HP <something useful> covers that, and also may not be obvious to the opponent what type it is being attacked with (which is sneaky in itself).

But all a matter of opinion.
