    Default Ariados EV's

    Ok, this is my second EV question for a poke in the last week and I kind of feel like I'm abusin TPM right now but I've come to a serious dilema. I have a Baton Passin Ariados and I can't decide where to put the EV's. I was thinkin in defenses but I really don't know. Here's the M/S and tell me what you think:

    @Salac
    -Signal Beam
    -Sludge Bomb
    -Spider Web
    -Baton Pass

    I put Salac so he can BP if he gets in trouble. SBeam is good for STAB and maybe more stat increases. SBomb for STAB. And SW cause it's his sole purpose trap opponents. I raised one of these guys to level 74 in Ruby, but I didn't think I should worry bout EV's. I hatched another and I think I should train this one to it's full ability since he's such a cool poke and he'd be worth the effort if he can trap just one Kyogre for my Shedinja! Thanks for the help in advance!

    It's Silver Wind that has the stat boost, not Signal Beam. Signal Beam just has a 20% confusion chance.

    I don't think Ariados can even survive a Surf from Kyogre... it might be possible with maxed HP and Special Defense, but that means you have yourself a very slow Ariados... and note that, even with a +Speed personality and max Speed effort, Salac Berry is still only going to bring it up to 294 speed at most (less if Ariados has a low Speed DV). That's really slow. Your EVs are going to be spread pretty thin.
