Familiar Stranger

From Weekly Jump, Volume 41/2004, pages 14-15:

This movie's been created by US-Japan team. We should be happy that Kazuki Takahashi also joins the team to design such beautiful monster line arts for the movie. This movie is scheduled to be in theaters in US, Europe and even Canada this summer, but it's not yet scheduled for released in Japan.

When Yugi has finished solving the Millennium Puzzle, an dormant evil is awakened. Its name is Anubis and it gives Kaiba new powers—the Blue Eyes Shining Dragon and Pyramid of Light (Hikari No Pyramid)—with which to defeat Yugi.

Among the new items introduced in the movie are the Duel Stadium, a giant glass dome that will be the primary dueling arena in the movie and the Pyramid of Light, which causes Yugi's spirit to get lost within the maze in the "Soul Room" in his own mind.

New monsters introduced in the movie are Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon, Magician's Valkyria and Magic Hierophant Black, "evolved" versions of Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Dark Magician Girl and Dark Magician.

Release date has been confirmed as 13 August 2004.

That would be good, for once the whole thing wouldn't be like the show, having to wait a whole week to see if the "Heart of the Cards" (aka cheating) gets Yami the card he wants. Which he always does anyway, so why do they bother with these "cliffies"?

Expect him to lose after Battle City, to keep from totally spoiling when it happens, I wont go into much detail about it. Yet I will say this, when he loses it wont be becuase he is throwing the match, it wont be becuase he wants to save some one, or becuase if he doesnt something bad happens. He ends up losing the match becuase he gets greedy during the match, he lets his need to win the match over take his rational thought, and that's why he loses, and when he loses, he loses much more than just the match. That's all I will say about it unless you want spoilers.

Also, he technically lost in that duel against Kaiba, when he threastened to jump off the roof unless Yugi called off his attack (which he did) Although, Yami would've attack anyway if Yugi hadn't intervened...

Yami and Yugi are considered one being because Yami is more of an extension of Yugi.

No they're not. Yugi is Yami's reincarnation, and 'just so happens' to have the original soul contained within his magical brain teaser.

They share one body, but they are technically not the same person. If you wanna go with what the dub (dunno bout the original, prolly there too but whatever) says, then yes, they are halfs. However, Yami doesn't truly need Yugi to exist. Case 1) duel with Pegasus when Yugi almost goes bye-bye. Case 2) Malik and Marik (or Marik and Yami Marik if you go by that). Battle City Final Rounds. End point.

Actually, Yami is the fast thinker. Yugi isn't as quick under pressure/brave. That's why Yami does so much better.

The reason it is not being released in Japan is becuase the countinuity would be ruined. In Japan they are starting the memory arc next week, which doesnt flow with the movie seeing how the movie takes place after Battle City, and Japan is way way wayyy past that. Plus the movie is adding in another Sennen Item, in the manga and the original Anime there are only 7 Sennen Items. 4 Kids is really just using this movie to make a quick grab at money before Yu Gi Oh's popularity goes down, and I think they allready know that the movie would fail in Japan since they allready know what really happens after Battle City.

But the thing is Yu Gi Oh has many new episodes they can show, it has atleast 70 after Battle City, and that is just Doom and Kaiba Corp Grand Prix, the Memory arc hasnt even started yet! Plus add in the new Manga Yu Gi Oh R that they just announced, they could go on for many many years. But here is the question I have...

When does this movie take place? after Battle City, Kaiba leaves for the United States to set up Kaiba land. A few weeks later the god cards are stollen and Yugi and the gang head to America to get them back thus begins the Doom saga. Yet in the movie description it says that it takes place after Battle City, but Kaiba is in it. So does it take place during the Doom Saga which wouldnt make any sence? Or does it take place after the Kaiba Corp Grand Prix which is so far down the line kids wouldnt understand. Also the villan in this movie is some one that Atemu defeated while he was Pharoah, the guy also holds the 8th Sennen Item and gives Kaiba the "Blue Eyes Shining Dragon" card, Well the problem is that in the manga Atemu only defeated Zork, and it would be awesome if Zork were to come back and be in this movie, but this guy is defnently not Zork. So who is he, and when did Atemu actually defeat him?

Uh, ya know. Kazuki Takahasji created this movie, so your calling him a loser. I personaly think its a great idea to add more Millennium Items. But, it will be something unoriginal, like "The Almight Millennium Sword!"
