WHSmiths - Uk Peeps

Well well well, of all the places to go shopping for cheap video game stuff.

I was out shopping today and found myself walking into WHSmiths, and to my amazement they had on sale, 2 Gamecubes, never opened, brand new for £20 each. Naturally I asked why there where so cheap and the woman behind the counter told me this:

"They're old stock, so they've been reduced to clear"

£20 each! They also had GCN & PS2 controllers for £4 each, and a brand new Xbox for £50.

I always thought Game and Gamestation where the best places to go for vid game stuff, but obviously not.

Has anybody else looked in there local WHSmiths lately? Just wondering if it's only mine that does this or if it's the same country wide.

I havent checked, but I'd assume its only yours. My WHSMITHS doesnt sell consoles, only games. And besides, old stock can only really refer to one specific store, can't it? Your area doesnt buy enough Gamecubes.

The nearest WHSmiths to me (in Bangor) hasn't ever sold consoles. They do have some ridiculously priced games, though. I don't really buy anything from there apart from magazines.

The smiths where I am refused to stock Xbox and now doesn't stock anything Gamecube related. Sigh.

You should check GAME's Online Website lately. They have some good games much cheaper than normal in a Summer Sale. Like .hack//Infection for Playstation 2 is normally £39.99 or £32.99, well it's only £19.99 in their Summer Sale. I've never seen a GC for so cheap before. If I saw a GC really cheap like you did, I would buy it and sell it to my friend for more.

I was informed by a friend that WHSmiths had some GBASP's for £30, so naturally we went along to check. There weren't any though, the woman said that she thought it was a gamestore that came in and bought them all

lolol, that would be really annoying, god damn Game merchants =/

I was in WHSMITHS earlier, unfortunately i hadn't read this thread and was unaware of such a deal. I will check it out asap after my exams have finished providing that my local doesn't have the items in question out of stock.
