Ok Barrrnacle, lets try and mow down as many clones and hopefully hit Hibou a few times too with a bullet seed! Then, completely close your tentacle things like in your emerald version sprite, hopefully blocking out any effects of suerpsonic (how does it hear?) and when hes done, open up on him with a sludge bomb! Finally, reflect his aurora beam back at him for 2x damage with Mirror Coat!

Both fossil pokemon look and greet eachother as do both trainers. The lake of rage has a mild current and a subtile breeze waves over the faces of both trainer and pokemon. As the water splashes around they stare, wait and let the match begin.

*Round One Begins*

Both pokemon wait for commands and then start the assault. Hibou immediatly creates several copies of himself with Double Team. Barrrnacle grunts as she shoots out seeds through her ‘mouth’. The seeds were propelled forward into the series of clones, but no avail as 5 copies disapeared and only the real Hidou and one copy remained.

Hidou, who was satisfied with his first attack, smiled and released a high-pitched screech towards Barrrnacle. She freezes and tries to put her tentacles over her ears and stop the confusion. Again, no avail as the supersonic hits her mentally and she becomes confused. She tries to fire a Sludgebomb, but gets starteled in her own confusion.

Hidou has never felt better and gets overenthousiastic. He fires off an Aurorabeam, but didn’t notice that the confused Barrrnacle had somehow created a mirrorcoat around herself. The aurorabeam bounces off Barrrnacle and backfires to Hidou, who gets hit right in the head. The other clone dissapears as Hidou lays on his side. Barrrnacle is confused, but smiles.

Alright Barrrnacle, good job. Sure, we're confused, but that doesnt mean that we still cant tough it out! Begin with a Confuse Ray, to throw your opponent off, and follow up with a body slam. Finally, Giga Drain! If he tries Mirror Coat, replace your attack with Rock Slide. If he tries a high powered sp. atk (aurora beam or moreso) use mirror coat as well.

Both pokemon are ready for another set of attacks as Barrrnacle starts off. She fires off a multicolored beam of confusion towards Hidou who quickly follows command and dives underwater. Barrrnacle is confused and grunts.

Next up, Barrrnacle lifts herself up and smashes down in the water, trying to Body Slam Hidou. Hidou has no intention of letting her succeed in her attack and curls himself up into a ball and rolls out of the water in a fast storm. Barrrnacle was caught by suprise and was smacked behind. Hidou smiles, but continues to roll.

Barrrnacle gets up and waits for Hidou to come. Hidou, like expected, rolls forwards even faster now and tries to hit Barrrnacle again. She however was prepared for the roll out and used her tentacles to attack herself to the poor Omanyte. Life energy was sucked out of Hidou as Barrrnacle is restored.

Start off with a Rock Slide, hopefully taking care of some of the clones and laying a bit of damage down on Hibou. Then, Dive underwater, avoiding supersonic as Hibou did the previous round, however, if this by any chance would not work, cover your ears up with your tentacles. Finally, Dive underwater to avoid Mud shot. Even if it actually does sink, it will do so slowly and will be easy for you to avoid. If you werre already underwater, use a Secret Power.

Hidou immediatly starts off by setting up 5 clones. Barrrnacle, who has no intention of letting Hidou get away with his tactics, picks up rocks from around the lake and hurls towards the army of Omanyte with great force. 3 Omanyte dissapear before finally the real one gets caught by a rock and all the rest vanish.

Hidou is rather pissed by this unfortunate event and releases a high pitched tone all over the surrroundings. Barrrnacle quickly hops into the water and puts her tentacles in her ears, avoiding all confusion. She smiles.

Hidou believes his Supersonic was a succes and hurls up Mud from the lakeshore and throws it into the lake. Barrrnacle who was prepared for this, absorbs the water from the lake and blasts a strong water-based Secret power to the surface, right onto Hidou. The mud slowly sinks in the lake, irritating Barrrnacle.

Well done Barrrnacle. Now, cling to the lake's bottom and Stockpile. If he comes down after you, use your signifigantly longer tentacles to constrict him and suck his life away with Giga Drain. (combo) If he doesn't, then stockpile a second time. If he tries to relax on the second or third action, secret power him again. Otherwise, use a Spit up on your third action, literally spitting up out of the water.

If he tries Mirror Coat for Giga Drain, replace your attack with Rock Slide. If he tries a high powered sp. atk (aurora beam or moreso) use mirror coat as well.

Wait a sec...how does Lileep, a Rock/Grass Pokemon learn the move Dive? It's true that Lileep can survive in water according to the in-game Pokedexes, but it shouldn't be so mobile in the sea, considering its based off a seaweed.

Also, there were four actions performed by Lileep --> Rock Slide ~ Cover Ears ~ Jump in Water ~ Secret Power.

I need clarifications on all of these before continuing, please.

Lileep cannot learn dive but either way, leaping into the water would require an action. And since it is not a water type, there is chance for it not to actually survive underwater, despite its heritage as a fossil Pokemon.

Cover and ears and jumping in the water can easily be made in one action, seeing that his tentacles can just cover his ears while he jumps into the water. He can survive in the water, but isn't mobile and I never reffed it that way.

It was more like: Rockslide - Jump - Secret power. Jumping just contained cover ears aswell.

Yeah I didn't actually mean to move dive. And I'm using Grey's original intention for using this pokemon -- undersea action in the Lake of Rage.

So lets get this in order. 'Dive' was just the command that Lileep had to do to get in the water. Dive is a verb and action, aswell as a move. The verb + action was used here. No move.

He could jump and put his ears closed at the same time? No? I believe he can.

And I remember reading Grey's story on how he would use Lileep as an arena-master in his own arnea Lake of Rage.

If you wanted him to dive in you should have thought about confusion since dive is also an attack (and one I assumed Lileep could learn) similarly to how people tell their Pokemon to rest, meaning relax and not the attack. Glad it has been sorted out.

I understand the "Dive" aspect, but I still running in the lake with ears plugged in still seems a bit convoulted though, especially in the heat of combat, since its two verbs in one action. Or at least it does in my sense. But I'll let that go.

Hibou! Let's fire an Ice Beam, but aim it on the sea above Barrrnacle rather than the Pokemon itself! Follow up with two more Ice Beams and freeze over the water above Lileep! Let's see she gets out of that one! Mwahahaha! XD

Both pokemon are fuzzed about the argument their trainers had, including the very handsome referee. They shake their heads and listen to the commands. The ref flags off.

While Barrrnacle is stockpiling on various leeches in the ground, Hidou fires an Icebeam on the Lake itself. The water freezes in an instant and Barrrnacle is trapped. She however keeps Stockpiling on minerals and insects, while Hidou fires off another Icebeam to make the lake water even more solid.

Lastly, a last Icebeam makes the water extremely solid. Barrrnacle releases his Stockpiled power in a Spit up, but only manages to make a crack in the strong, thick and cold ice.

In the Lake sits Barrrnacle who is deep below under the thick Ice/ She uses her powers to summon a Sunny Day, who at first sight didn’t seem to do much, but steady and slowly the Sun eats away the thick ice.

Both ancient fossils decide to relax for the rest off the round.

While Barrrnacle is relaxing, Hidou decides to summon rain clouds, to shroud the sun. The heavy downpour starts and takes away Hidou’s clones, making his last move seem useless, but Chris Waterimono asures us that this has a reason.

Both pokemon stare at eacother but chill anyhow. Suddenly, Barrrnacle wants to hit Hidou with 4x effectiveness and starts collecting solar energy. This is pretty tough seeing that she is under water, under ice and it’s raining. After a while, she collected enough energy and fired off a less-powerfull Solarbeam at the crack and manages to break through the ice.

Hidou runs over and collects cold energy in his ‘mouth’ again. Barrrnacle who already saw this coming already started to collect Solar energy. So when the hole got it’s first layer and Hidou came closer, she shot a powerfull Solarbeam at the little fossil.

Hidou lay back a bit of the hole, shocked, relaxing. Suddenly, Barrrnacle came to the surface and grabbed Hidou with her tentacles. Then she sucked down energy from his small body, making him suffer badly.

relax times three, but if he tries to use a special attack as powerful as ice beam or more, use mirror coat. Any mud or rocks should come down slowly and awkwardly, and on the odd chance that one comes down above you, avoid it the best you can by jetisoning yourself off the floor, like pressing your legs down from the bottom of a pool, and shoot off to the left or right. Then, if he tries to come down, use your longer tentacles to wrap him before he gets too close, and try to siphon some energy out of him with Giga Drain.
