    Default Duplication Trick

Hi, has anyone heard of the Duplication trick with Ruby, Sapphire, Fire, and Leaf? It has something to do with using Colosseum, and then turning the GBA off at a certain point when saving. I am not trying to get flamed or nothing but they are all talking about it on GameFaqs. Some people confirmed it, while others did not. If anyone knows anything about it, can they help me and this forum as well? Thanks.

    Default Duplication Trick

Ok, I found a little more on this subject as I posted a little more on GameFAQS.
From what I am told, this is all you have to do.

    Steps:
    1) Have the pokemon you want to dupe in your GBA.
    2) The pokemon in colosseum will become the pokemon in the GBA so make sure its something you don't want like a weak guy from the earlier parts of town in Ruby/Sapphire/Fire Red/Leaf Green.
    3) Begin the trade from colosseum.
    4) When its time to save it will take about 6 to 7 seconds.
    5) Right before it finishes saving you have to turn off the GBA.
    6) It should say on the TV "Trade Successful" or something along those lines.
    7) When you turn on your GBA it will say "Save Disrupted" or something like that and it will revert to the previous save on there. You "should" have the duplicated the pokemon, having it both in GBA and Colosseum.

Can anyone confirm this, I'd like to but I can't seem to get the timing right.

EDIT: *When I say trade in colosseum, I hope you all know I mean to go to Phenac city to do so.*

Trying things like this will only lose your Save Data in the end and you'll feel sorry. What's the point in doubling a Pokemon anyway?

Well the Ruby and Sapphire games save twice so technically it isn't really doing anything. I mean I am a little worried and the reason is I could use another Masterball.

That's like the dupe trick from r/b/y... Save yourself the trouble and just shark if you're going to risk corrupting your game for something useless anyway.

Edit: Just read the whole thing. And my point stands even stronger. A duped Masterball isn't worth a corrupted Memory Card.

I am considering whether I want to risk my game, but I have a question for you. Are you saying that you never did the Missingno trick to get a practically infinite amount of items? Didn't that also have a risk? I'm not trying to fight, I'm just curious. It technically doesn't have any harm because the game saves twice. It always has a backup, so its almost impossible to lose the game.

I used Missingno. But that glitch doesn't make you go through hoops of crap to get the job done. That's why I didn't shark in Red or Blue. But in G/S/C, and that clone trick being so cumbersome and unstable...

I see what your saying. It makes sense not to do it. I do see what you mean, but it'd still be cool to get some clones, if there wasn't any side-effects. I guess close this whenever. Thanks for the contributions.

I honestly think that the dupe trick in GSC was fine. This is a little lengthy, I'm still yet to try it myself, but I intend to.

Like I said before... The only was this could not work is if you have no save file and start a new one. It has 2 files in case of corruption whereas most other games don't.

If you want a duplicate Masterball, just restart your Ruby/Sapphire game. Each restart potentially gives you 1 Masterball, 1 of each unique TM, a starter, a fossil and a Deepsea Fang or Claw. No tricks, no risk, no sharking.

You also get a new trainer ID for any pokémon you trade out of that restart - handy when doing your daily lottery.

Well, I have yet to get it to work, but it has been confirmed. If you want to try it, so be it, but I warn you.... Try it first with crappy pokemon and on a game that maybe you wouldn't want. I am not responsable though, I'm just trying to help.

I must've used the dupe trick in Gsc hundreds of times, and nothing ever happened to my game file. It would be really handy to be able to duplicate things in r/s actually, for me, beacuase then I can keep a copy of my level 100 on colluseum to battle with in 3D without having to link up to trade it over every time I want to use it on my gba.

PS. This is the first time ive posted here in a long while (1st time this year). I doubt anyone remembers me tho
