    Default Umbreon the tank?

I was looking through The base stats at Pokefor.tk for a tank, when I saw umbreon. Its base def is 110 and its HP is 95, wich makes me think it wouldnt be too bad a choice, since most of the others are rock/ground, and I dont want half my team to be weak too water. Would umbreon be a viable choice?

Heres the pokeon Im considering now.

    Groudon-Att Sweeper
I know he's legendary, but I really like his graphic, compaired to the rest
of the R&S pokemon that I hate.

    Milotic-Spc Sweeper

    Ninetails- Trapper

    Umbreon- Possibly tank

    Crobat- Hazer

    Belossum-Aromatherapy
Im not sure I even want/need one of these.

Groudon is going to screw Milotic over with it's Auto Sunny Day Ability(unless it has Rain Dance). And you forgot about Umbreon's 130 base Special Defense.

Either change that to Vileplume, or forget it. Bellossom doesn't learn AT.

Crobat isn't suited to hazing, with that amazing speed, and good attack, it makes a better physical sweeper.

Yes, I is teh noob, thanks for the reviews,
So... Umbreon would make an ok tank?

Should I forget a second physical sweeper and go for a spc sweeper since I already have groudon?

Umby can't do much attack wise, but is a pain to take down. Mostly used to pass a Mean Look to something else. Unfortunatly until the relese of FRLG, Baton Pass can't be obtained (Eevee learns it)

    Mean Look
    Baton Pass
    Screech/Charm/Taunt
    Rest/Moonlight

Screech will help a physical sweeper out when you've BP'd to them, but you'll probably find more use in Charm (to help out sweepers with crap defense) or Taunt, to stop your opponents phazer foiling your plan with Roar/Whirlwind.

An old GSC annoyer could work, but it doesn't fair well vs. steel or poison types.

    Mean Look
    Toxic
    Confuse Ray
    Rest

Basically trap your opponent and give them a slow painful death with Toxic, while preventing 50% of attacks and damaging your opponent from confuse ray. Rest off any damage they cause while you're waiting.

It's also worth remembering that Umbreon is only vulnerable to Bug and Fighting attacks, so if it has a +Defense personality it can be a total cow to take down (just like a Milotic with +Special Defense...)

Actually, I'd rate Milotic as a better tank anyway, especially with Recover and either Double Team or Attract. Confuse Ray can be bred on to it as well (Lileep/Cradily -> Corsola -> Feebas). As a pure Water type it's only x2 vulnerable to Electric and Grass, so with Milotic's excellent Special Defense (base 125) and a Calm nature (-Attack, +Special Defense) you can train up something very hard to drop - only the top STAB Electric or Grass types will be able to kill it in less than 3 hits (giving you time to Recover anything else).

Milotic is probably a touch slow to be a true Special Sweeper - many opponents will be going first. Alakazam, Magnetric, Sceptile, Starmie and Salamence generally are better choices for this role, just from the Ruby & Sapphire set.

I prefer to use Starmie in the tank role. I know it isn't obvious choice because it's defences aren't huge, most people use them as special sweepers. However, this set works wonders:
    Starmie@Lum Berry
    -Surf
    -Ice beam
    -Cosmic Power
    -Recover
My starmie has a decent 240 sp.att, with 230 in both defences(and cosmic power ) and 287 speed. It is very potent. It can also learn c.ray over Ice beam.

Meh, I like umbreon more, Also, Having calculated the IV's on the oddish I hatched. It is modest, and has 31 IV for Special Attack, that is the best possible right?

Thats good news for the vileplume then, but I cant decide whether I want to use banette or gengar, Shadow ball would help give me a move that would be SE against psychic and ghosts, but at the same time, I already have two Phy Sweepers, and I could always use a second special sweeper for balance. Of course, I think gengar is poison also, and that would be 3 x weakness to psychic. I guess Ill go banette
