Mystery Gift problems

My friend and I connected our wireless adapters and tried to Mystery Gift. It asked us some kind of question about choosing between "card" or "news"... what does this mean? Regardless of which option I chose, both our GBAs appeared to freeze up saying that they were searching for a friend (it's not like it was a range problem with the wireless... he was sitting 2 feet away from me and we managed to do the chat option earlier in the Union Room sitting at the same places. So... how exactly do you Mystery Gift? Is it no more than once daily with the same person like GSC?

And also, does anyone have a list of the Mystery Gift items?

This was pulled from the GameFAQs boards. But since I haven't looked into it myself, I don't know how accurate the info is.

Mystery Gift is in no way like g/s's mystery gift.

The info its searching for is not from other FR/LG games, but from official wireless stands with downloadable content called "Joyspot*".

Japan has joyspot, which is a place where one can meet, and do whatever over the wireless adapter(It also makes the distance of the WA larger aswell, but only aslong as your near a "hotspot").

Aswell as being able to download new content, such as news, and the 2 secret tickets(For deoxys and lugia/ho-oh).

As of right now, only use of it is at the pokemon center NY store, and they havent set up a "Wonder*" station yet.

So its useless at this time.

Also, once somebody gets the news. There able to share it with others, hence why it's able to search other FR/LG games.

*Wonder is the american joyspot.
*Joyspot is the japanese name.
*Hotspot is another term for a location with Joyspot.
