I just recently purchased a box, and it keeps saying "Disk is damaged" with brand ****ing new games. One of my friends had this problem as well. suggestions?

Sounds like your XBox is faultly, if you just got it exchage it at the store you bought it at.
CHOMP~
Did you buy a used X-Box? First generation X-Boxes had this problem, and the only cure is to return it and get a new one. I bought a used X-Box, and had thesame problem with brand-spanking new games.
If you bought you X-Box new, then either return it if you can, or ship it to Microsoft for repairs.
Sounds like you got SCREWED. This calls for a evil laugh. MUAHAHAHAHAH. Oh,I can't really help you. I think you can send it back if its new and get it repaired though.

after I cleaned the lens, the problem didn't happen as much. before, it happened about once every five minutes, and now it only happens about once a session (or not at all), but when it does, it's still ****ing annoying.
yeah, my roommate's xbox has started to do this. i dunno. we play madden a LOT, so the disk is bound to get a little damaged. but, this situation sounds a little different.
Burning in water, drowning in flame
it happened to me too last week, after returning home from our holiday, the car went over this huge pothole and it hasn't been able to work since. it was often doing it before the pothole, but about a 25% chance. it now doesn't even make the "loading disc" sound.
my xbox is a first gen thompson, had it since early 2002. the xbox tech support people told me they would fix it for me for about $125 AUD including postage and handling. but i really want to go to a samsung, but i doubt they would do that to fix it.
what do you guys have to say.![]()
