Unless I have finally lost my mind completely, at least one old thread from The Writers Lounge has gone oddly missing. I recall entering four Fanfic contests in 2004, and I had two of the little image prizes in my sig. One of them is still there, but the other one was blown away because of the new sig character limits. (As if to mock me, the beginning characters of the image's web address are still there - see for yourself!) I cut the sig down to fit the rest of the image address in there, but when I looked for the thread of the second contest that I won, I couldn't find it. The thread seems to have vanished, taking all traces of the prize image with it. Frankly, I'm stumped. I've been checking thread after thread between the May and September contests (as I'm absolutely certain that the contest in question occured between those two), and I've also searched through threads following the September contest in case someone made a late reply. I've even run an advanced search on the forums to find anything and everything in TWL that mentions the word "contest", and I've scoured the FF Archives as well. But I still can't find a trace of the thread in question.

I'd like to have the image in my sig, if possible, because I am still proud of that contest win. If the thread is just gone, I guess nothing can be done, but I'm hoping that I've merely somehow missed something. Or perhaps I've simply lost my last bit of sanity. If the thread is indeed gone, though, then other threads might also be missing...

Anyway, I guess I just wanted to ask in case anyone happened to have seen the thread. I know it's unlikely, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks.


P.S. This topic might also fit in one of the Binary District sub-forums, but I figured that since it was a question about a Writers Lounge thread, it was probably better suited here. I apologize in advance if this thread has to be moved.

EDIT: Tragically, though, the Fanfic Trivia Game appears to have been lost entirely, as it does not appear in the link. (It also appears to be missing from TWL here.) It seems that a lot of threads with replies immediately before the loss of the server are missing.

Now that is odd. For me, the fifth topic is "TWL Awareness". (If I exclude stickies, it's "DISCUSSION of the week!??!?!!?!! ...." instead.) The FF Trivia Game doesn't show up at all on my screen. In fact, the most recent reply that appears on a non-sticky topic is from September 3rd, 2004 in "Fan Forum E-zine: September I". On the other hand, stickified replies end for me on June 5th, 2005. Very weird.
