I used to have one, but it broke down. Then I got another one, it broke down again. Then I got a gold version, and it worked fine. Has this ever happened to anyone?

You mean you two copies of Pokemon Crystal that BOTH broke down? That must be unlucky cocidence. =\
Say, where did you get your Pokemon Crystal copies? If they have been used already, then there is a good chance that they might crash compared to brand new versions.

wat he meens is dat his pokemon crystal broke down so he got another and it broke down. i know, quite sad...
Seems its not just u. I found that my version of Pokemon Crystal had its internal battery die (couldn't save games) after a few months. It really annoyed me.
[i]had something like that happen to me, but only with my red cartriage. other than that my crystal always worked fine.

You're joking!? I thought the games would last forever unless you dropped them in the bath or something equally stupidly destructive. So eventually will all our carts break and be unplayable? Is there anyway to fix them? I hardly play my Red or Silver games anymore but I've got my teams saved on them and my 'Mon, I'd hate to lose all that!Originally Posted by SoulflameNinetales
I haven't checked my Silver or Crystal games, but I know that the clock got screwed up somehow on Gold (see the "'TIME NOT SET'?" thread if you want more details). I still haven't decided whether or not to risk resetting the clock, so I'm not certain if the game's screwed up for good.
If it's a battery problem, and if for some reason you really want to avoid losing your data, you could try finding a place that'll replace the internal battery. But I don't know if anyone would be able to do that, and that might not be the problem with yours, anyway.
I'm pretty sure thats whats wrong with mine, it still plays alright, it just doesn't keep save information once you turn off the power.
Ive reset my clock on gold and it worked fine for me. Take the risk me sonOriginally Posted by mr_pikachu
