The Mountains
“Get it! Fire NOW!” Arrows rained down upon the madly dashing figure, as it seemed to gracefully avoid the shower. Several people, clad in leather-bound armor were madly wandering about the forest in pursuit of the dashing creature. It was apparent however, that this creature knew the forest well and was easily getting away. Swiftly passing the trees, weaving in and about the great massive trunks of the olden trees gave him safe passage. The humans eventually gave up their pursuit, as one of them turned to a darker-dressed figure.
“ We lost him again.” The darkened figure nodded, narrowing his eyes as he slung his quiver about his shoulder.
“He’ll return… he always does. Besides, eventually our works will be completed and we can find them, and finally claim our land.” His low voice seemed to growl as he looked to the others. With a very definite authority, he ushered them to head back down the mountain.
“Back home, men.”
----
The figure continued to run for the rest of the day, swift as the night overcoming the land. The ‘figure’ of course, was that of a centaur-like creature. His main body was that of a deep ginger-black horse, of course except where the horse head was supposed to be, was the torso and upper half of a human. However, he also had wolven and hawk-like features as well. Even slight hawk wings protruded from his horse-like body, although it was clear that he could not fly.
Swiftly however, he came to a clear jutted rock which overhung outwards from a steep cliff. The jutted rock overlooked the entire valley below… which seemed to be almost surreal. Trees of all origins grew below… intermixed with intertwining rivers and a few light ponds. Lush patches of valley-like grass sprouted about, along with several forest-like areas of beautiful arrays of flowers. However, the most magestic of all this were the several glimmering palace-like structures which seemed perfectly intermixed with the forest. It was obvious a great kingdom was imbedded in the forest.
The figure seemed trapped however, standing upon the jutted rock with seemingly no way to get to the lush kingdom below. Yet with out hesitation, suddenly he leapt forward… as if committing suicide. His body plunged below, until he slowly opened his smaller-portioned wings which allowed his fall to come to a slower pace. It almost seemed as grace rested upon his shoulder, as he plunged into the small pond in front of the main portion of the land below. Instantly his wings folded back up, and his legs wildly went about so that he swam back up to the surface. Swimming for a little bit, he came to the rocky outcropping of the pond and his horse hooves instantly found footing there. Hoisting his body back out of the water, he shook his fur and then swiftly went into a gallop.
An extremely small, stoned-clad path showed his way as he ran through the thick, intermixed forest. Vines hung low about his head as the forest seemed to hum and buzz with excitement. He passed a few similar creatures who seemed to be attending to the trees, who stared as he whirled pass. They knew who he was… and it wasn’t long until he ran over a small river, finally reaching a grand structure. It was obviously the root or the center of the forest… white, ceramic-looking walls glittered in the sunlight as he approached. The structure was quite tall and the origins of its construction was a mystery. The stone path widened infront of the palace-like structure as he neared, slowing his gallop as he went up steps. There were no doors… so he swiftly entered the structure. After passing many large corridors, painted beautifully and embroidered well… he finally reached an opening in the middle of the palace structure. It was there, several centaur-like creatures stood, as if waiting.
“Ah, Churoan… you have returned.” A large Centaur-creature came forth, bowing lightly to Churoan who did the same. He was obviously male, having male humanoid-features as another, lighter figure came forth as well. She smiled quite lovely, eagerly speaking.
“Tell us the news.. is it true that they’ve finally passed the second mountains?”
Churoan gravely nodded, taking in a breath.
“ The humans are upon the second mountain as we speak. I do not know why they are so intent on taking over and destroying the forest. However, they are searching to get rid of us and the Gods so that they can fully claim the forest and destroy it. They ran into me, and I fled their arrows… but it doesn’t matter now. They’re heading to the top of the second mountain and plan on destroying Vieniia first.”
Many faces turned pale and grew shocked and worried. Churoan gave a grave nod once more.
“ Excuse me for saying so, but we cannot hide any longer. We must join forces with the Gods and fight.”

Yes, in celebration of my health… (long story) I’ve made a new RPG to kick off my return. You can look in the AWAY topic for the story. Anyways, this is a new idea I had… and you can thank the movie, Princess Mononoke, for this idea.
Basically, here’s the plot:
There is a great city, to the west of a series of mountains in where humans live. They live in a valley, where they mine the forest for many different minerals and sell it all around the country. They are quite wealthy and powerful… although they currently are at war with a farther off kingdom due to the dispute or fight over the ore-enriched mountains. Yet, these humans are less worried about the war and are more into taking over the mountains for good. There are 4 mountain ‘lines’ and the humans have destroyed, or completely dried out the 1st mountain line. They have begun to enter the 2nd mountain line, but there they have met resistance.
Gods, four in fact, live in the mountains. One god lives on one mountain for each mountain line. The first God, Hurakon, was destroyed by new human technology (obviously forms of guns). Hurakon was the God of growth and harmony, and was the least destructive of the Gods. Three of the other gods represent other things as well.
Past the four mountain lines, is a great and rather mysterious kingdom. They harbor Centuar-like creatures called the Dirvons. They are just like Centuars, except for the fact that they usually have other animal qualities other than just horse and human. They have lived in balance with the forest and Gods quite peacefully for thousands of years. Their land is strange and beautiful… having great massive trees and plants which seem to be from all over the world, growing in one place. Like the mountains surrounding their kingdom, their land is mysterious and holds many secrets and strange creatures and places.
There yah go! So here are positions/character you can behold:
DIRVONS:
(I will be taking Churoan.)
- Make up your own Dirvon, freedom is granted here. Go wild with their appearance.
- There is a ‘king’ and ‘queen’, so you can be one of those.
- Dirvons have a council and pretty much any class… so go wild.
HUMANS:
- Free range here. You can belong to the army or the village that is attacking the Gods and the Dirvons, or you can be a freelancer. I want the majority of all humans to be against the Gods and Dirvons for their own reasons. (It can be you’re seeking power… or perhaps revenge. Or maybe you’ve heard a legend that you can be granted wishes or perform miracles with the death of a God…)
- Humans need a leader too. You can put that you’re the leader of the humans attacking the Gods. If you are the leader, please name your city!
GODS:
- There are three remaining Gods. You may create their name and their two representations. Every God (Or Goddess) has the form of an animal, but that animal is far larger than normal. You can alter appearances a bit as well. You are a God after all.
You can have two characters, although they must be from different categories.
Alright… now here are the forms.
Name:
Gender: (F or M)
Age: (Approx. will do.)
Species: (God, Dirvon, or Human?)
Breed: (If you’re a God… what’s your animal form? If you’re a Dirvon, please tell what animal parts you are. You MUST include some human (for the torso) and horse. 3 other animal parts are allowed. If you’re a human, then you can leave this blank or add your own heritage.)
Position: (If you’re a God, just put GOD. If you’re a Dirvon or Human… put your rank or position in your society.)
Appearance: (Descriptive please. Pictures are accepted.)
Personality: (No need to be too extensive.)
Side: (Whose side are you on and why?)
History: (Any history we need to know?)
Relations: (I will allow some humans to have known Dirvons… but no blood relations. Dirvons can know Gods… humans do not know the Gods. They have rebelled from that path long ago.)
Other: (Anything else?)
Name: Churoan V’chorix
Gender:Male
Age: About 100 years.. (considered a young adult.)
Species: Dirvon
Breed: Human, Horse (Arabian to be specific), Wolven and Hawk.
Position: He’s considered ‘the guardian’. His job is to border their mountains and keep an eye on the humans as well as interact with the Gods. His job is respected, although he doesn’t officially have much political power.
Appearance: Churoan is medium-sized for a Dirvon. He has the main body of an Arabian horse, with a ginger-black coat. However, instead of having a horse tail he has the tail of a wolf. Towards the hooves of all his legs, his fur becomes thicker and coarser like that of a wolf’s as well. He also has two golden hawk-wings which protrude from the middle of his back. They’re quite useful for long drop-offs and jumps… although he cannot fly. His human half is considered ‘handsome’ on human terms. His skin is slightly tanned and toned. His face has defined cheekbones and a slender jaw. His eyes are hazel with flecks of extreme light green and yellow, which stand out even more so with his rather thick eyelashes. His hair is slightly fluffed and has a bit of a curl towards the top of his hair, along with being a rich dark brown in color. He has a tattoo upon his right shoulder- the marking of the Guardian. The symbol is a crescent moon with an arrow going through the two pointed ends of the crescent.
Personality: He’s level headed and down-to-earth. He has good communication skills and has great knowledge of the world beyond the Dirvons. Many younger Dirvons go to him for stories or information, as well as older Dirvons. He’s compassionate and good natured, although he tends to get a bit angry and rash when it comes to humans.
Side: He’s with the forest. He’ll do what’s best for the forest. His reasons are because he’s supposed to protect the Dirvons, and they rely on the forest as well as all living things. Plus he’s on good terms with the Gods… and they protect the forest.
History: Churoan’s mother and father passed away several years ago, but they were respected ‘Tree Keepers’. Churoan was fond of learning but often would break away from groups to go exploring with his friends. He left the kingdom on a little adventure when he was merely 20 (quite young) and got into a lot of trouble with his parents and the higher council. (It’s forbidden to leave until you’re 30.) However, he accelled with learning and was quite intrepid, so it was fitting that with the death of the old Guardian, he became the new and youngest Guardian to take position- 65. Since then, he’s met all the Gods and at least been aquainted with them enough to be allowed to speak of them in each of their realms. He’s spied and traveled far to see the humans as well.
Relations: He knows all the Gods. (Perhaps better friends with some Gods than others?) All other relations are accepted.
Other: Churoan is known mostly for his speed. He needs to be fast in order to get around the mountains.
