    Default Mod VS Mod: Ref Mod

    That's right. Dan we've fought twice in ASB and both matches have died on us. And both times we were pretty much even.

    So how about we settle this with...

    *DUN DUN DUN*

    A 12-12 Pokemon match.


    RULES:

    12 Pokemon Each
    One out at a time
    DQ Time: N/A
    Banned moves: Rest, Substitute, Attract, Recovery Moves (Recover but not Giga Drain), Counter, Mirror Coat, Endeavor, Bide (moves of that cheap nature), Destiny Bond, Perish Song.

    Arena: Indigo Stadium. Basic arena.

    Referees: Obviously with us using 12 Pokemon each, NO referee in ASB would be able to stick at it for such a long time. Therefore we are expecting more than one. If you want to ref for us, please go ahead, but try to be regular in your updates.

    If you can't ref anymore, then tell us and we'll sort out how much you'll get.


    Dan, we'll wait for a ref then PM ALL 12 CHOICES to the ref, in the order we will use them. This is so that we don't become slaves to type advantages.

    Indeed it is Dan, and I'll stick with it every step of the way.

    Offering my skills (Which *will* get better, I promise) for the ENTIRE match. I'm offering to do every bit of it, down to the last one. *nods* I'm convinced this is a good idea. It'll help my skills out alot.

    Man you couldn't plan those pair ups, lol.

    OK Spyte, lets start off with a low lying Haze to hide in. By the time Marowak works out what's going on or spends time blowing it away, you'll be on him and have in in a Wrap. With that done, Crunch down on the shoulder of his bone carrying arm.

    I kept looking at those pairings and would go "Yes!" or "Damn!" But that's all part of the fun ^^


    Swords dance to clear the haze and boost your attack. When Spyte wraps around you, don't worry. Use a thrash to deal damage and throw the damned thing of. When it comes in for a crunch, protect.

    Hey, it never hurts to be a spectator for any battle, so I'd like to be one too!

    Just a prediction, but I'd be surprised if your battle lasts as long as (or longer than) my old battle with Meowth_Kitten (that battle topic isn't existant anymore, but it lasted for months, despite the fact it was a 2 on 2 battle. It was the longest battle I had, time-wise, at that time) guys.

    Ok, so this took longer than usual. Apologies!

    [center]Spectacular Mod Match Up: Dan vs. Chris! Round 1!

    Indigo Stadium. What a fabulous place. Many trainers won and lost glory here, each striving to become the best. That was years ago, however. Today, it is just a regular battle stadium. It stands mostly empty, until the *big* challenge comes.

    This is one of those *big* challenges.

    A lone figure walked into the main stadium area, carrying two reffing flags. He stopped in the abrupt middle, and a microphone appeared in front of him. The figure was dressed in Sith Robes, and his voice was as cold as ice.

    "Ladies and Gentlemen, I welcome you to this one one of a kind match-up. We will begin shortly. In the mean time...You all wish to give me your Pokémon!" He said, waving his hand around. Then, remembering that his Force Powers wouldn't work here, he shook his head, and continued on.

    "You know them as the this forum's mods, along with TML, who should be here somewhere...anyway, the point is, you're here to see them battle, right?"

    A loud roar filled the stadium. Everyone was ready.

    "Good! Now, let me introduce our first combatant! He is from England, and loves to Role Play...is that something we should be telling little kids...what...not *that* kind of role play? alright then. and Pokémon alike. He surfs many forums, and is a mod on more than a couple. His name used to be ViNe WhIp, and he's fun to talk to on MSN, we have Dan, also known as RaZoR LeAf!"

    Dan entered the stadium on one side, head held proud, his chosen twelve walking/floating/slithering/whatever behind him. Tremendous applause greeted his entrance. He entered the designated trainer's box, and his first choice, a Seviper, slithers out and prepares for battle.

    "Now, for our second combatant. I don't honestly know much about him. He's a mod of this forum, and a spectacular strategist. He is the one who issued the challenge to Dan. I introduce Chrise, also known as 2.0!"

    Christ entered the stadium opposite Dan, his chosen twelve behind him. Both mods walked forward, shook hands like true gentlemen, and went back to their respective areas. Nodding, they gave me the ok. Chris's first choice, a Marowak, walked honorably forward, holding its bone out like a fencing saber.

    "Ladies and Gentlemen, prepare for harsh and fierce battling of the likes you have never seen before. This battle is going to stretch to new hieghts! I now officially declare this match, 12 vs. 12, begun!"

    Loud roars echoed through the stadium as shouts of "Go Dan!" and "Go Chris!" came from all sides. The Ref, a young man of about 17 named 'Darth Skrusti', stepped off to the side of the field, and entered the luxurious reffing box. The two Trainer's boxes and the reffing box lifted into the air so they could see all of the action.

    "Now trainers, you know the rules. You each have 12 Pokémon at your disposal, and the order you send them out has already been decided. There is no way to get disqualified from this match, and the following moves are banned: Rest, Substitute, Attract, Recovery Moves (Recover but not Giga Drain), Counter, Mirror Coat, Endeavor, Bide (moves of that cheap nature), Destiny Bond, Perish Song. Now, good luck to the both of you!"

    Dan was the first to speak, his voice amplified so all could hear it in the thundering stadium. "OK Spyte, lets start off with a low lying Haze to hide in. By the time Marowak works out what's going on or spends time blowing it away, you'll be on him and have in in a Wrap. With that done, Crunch down on the shoulder of his bone carrying arm!"

    Chris heard these orders, and responded accordingly. "Swords dance to clear the haze and boost your attack. When Spyte wraps around you, don't worry. Use a thrash to deal damage and throw the damned thing of. When it comes in for a crunch, protect!"

    The ref raises his flags, and seeing both Pokémon are ready, immediatly drops them.

    Spyte is the first to start as he belches out a thick, fog like substance. The Haze spreads lightly over the ground, settling about a foot off of it, hiding Spyte quite well. That is, until Marowak started to dance. His wild, erratic movements caused the spirits to imbue him with fighting spirit, and the constant spinning created a small wind, blowing most of the Haze away. Slightly surprised by this, Spyte slows down a little bit, wondering what happened. He thought the fog would remain.

    Not the least bit deterred, however, Spyte rushes forward as quickly as he can and Wraps himself tightly around Marowak. Marowak just grins underneath his skull, and starts wildly Thrashing about, trying to break free of Spyte's hold. Spyte grimaces and winces as he is pounded repeatedly, but tightning the squeeze causes Marowak to gasp as his rib cage is pushed inward, poking his lungs.

    Spyte, grinning like only a Seviper can, pulls her head back, and that's all the time Marowak needs. Concentrating, he forms a barrier around his body, which pushes Seviper off with alot of force. The Protect barrier in place, Marowak laughs as Spyte tries to slither up and bite down on Marowak's arm, only managing to make his head ring as his teeth are stopped about 3 inches from the skin.

    Hissing angrily, Spyte backs up, standing about 10 feet from Marowak, waiting for his next move. Marowak continues to laugh at Spyte, and both Pokémon turn to their trainers for their next orders....

    Let's try attacking from afar this round, until your chest feels slightly eased.

    BTW is Marowak's attack boosted? And Marowak is Male, IIRC. 16 Pokemon's genders are hard to remember.

    Marowak begin with an earthquake. Follow up with a flamethrower and end with a bonemerang. If it tries to protect, then just relax. If it uses rain dance, change Flamethrower to ice beam.

    ok, so i lied. Asayake/Vermillion, could one of you please ref this battle. something very horrible happened to me, and i dont have the strength to ref. I'm sorry, I just need this one reffing done. and could one of you perhaps ref Classy_Cat18 vs. Wolfsong for me? i'd be much obliged. I'll be back in time for the next reffing, I hope. And could someone let Blue Avenger know if he wants to discontinue our battle, tis fine with me, because I might not post for a while. See ya guys....sooner or later.

    Round 2 of the Spectacular Mod Match up! Begin!

    After last round, the two combatants stare daggers at their opponents, hearing their orders from their trainers, even though the crowd was roaring louder than they had roared before.

    Chris 2.0 Yelled out "Let's try attacking from afar this round, until your chest feels slightly eased. Marowak begin with an Earthquake. Follow up with a Flamethrower and end with a Bonemerang. If it tries to Protect, then just relax. If it uses rain dance, change Flamethrower to Ice beam."\

    Dan thinks for a second, then responds in kind to his Seviper. "Start off with Glare to throw off that Earthquake. Now use Rain Dance, then Mimic the Ice Beam."

    Hissing, Spyte slithers back out onto the field, its Marowak opponent doing the same, both staring into each others eyes. Grinning, Marowak brings its leg up, and right before it can bring it back down, something happens to Spyte's eyes. The Marowak, who was still staring its opponent down, feals fearful as a blood red glow flows from Spyte's eyes. Although not paralysed in fear, he moves much slower than usual.

    As Marowak finally slams his foot down, albeit not as strongly as he normally would have, the wave of earth energy creates a plume of dust as it flies at Spyte. Spyte starts dancing an erratic, snake dance, slithering and twisting its body into odd shapes to make it rain. And rain it does. Unfortunatly, just as Spyte is finishing up his dance, the plume of dust reaches him, and he is slammed into the air by the Earthquake. Twisting and turning, Spyte lands back on the ground sideon, damaging a kidney and hurting a lung a bit.

    Marowak, pleased about hurting Spyte, but not so happy about the rain, lifts its head up, staring once again at Spyte, its fear long-forgotten. Lifting up the skull on its head slightly, a cold blue beam of ice energy blasts its way out of where Marowak's mouth would've been if we had caught a glimpse. The beam gathers in size a bit as rain freezes to it, and Spyte just watches, analyzing the move. Smiling a Seviper smile, the beam slams into him, freezing a patch of his left side solid. However, one good thing came out of the damage. Spyte Mimicked Ice Beam!

    Wanting to finish thise round with a bang, Marowak prepares its bone, balancing it expertly in the palm of its hand. The rain lashes down unmercifully, a bit of a wind blowing to accompany the rain. Compensating for all of this, Marowak takes the bone and lets it fly with a cry of "MAAAROOO!!" The bone flies across the field, smacking into Seviper's skull with a dull thwack. Spyte hisses angrily as his head is knocked backwards, and the bone goes flying. This goes in Spyte's favor, however, as he turns in just the right position as the bone flies back to have the ice broken off by it.

    Catching his bone skillfully, Marowak spins on the spot, walking back to his trainer's booth. Hissing once more at his opponent, Spyte slithers back to his trainer's box, both awaiting their next orders from their trainers...

    Arena: Small mud puddles appearing everywhere.

    Crowd: Starting to chant Marowak's name.

    Weather: Raining for 4 more rounds

    OK Spyte start off with Ice beam, aim for the head. Then go with a Haze again to hide yourself. Get in close and use that Poison Fang you were blocked from doing in the first round.

    Fire a flamethrower to counter the ice beam. Sing Spyte to sleep, then use earthquake. If it doesn't go to sleep, dig to evade the poison fang and come up that turn if you can.

    Other: Teeth hurting a little bit, hates his Marowak opponent even more due to the bruised kidney and lung.

    Round 3 of the Spectacular Mod Match Up! Begin!

    Spyte and Marowak stare each other down, neither take any quarter as they wait for the other to make their move. Finally, they unleash their called attacks at the same time. Spyte remembers how to perform an Ice Beam, thanks to Marowak, and he blasts out a ray of freezing energy which gathers strength and size as it rushes across the arena, picking up rain drops along the way. Marowak stands his ground, and lifts its helmet again, breathing out fierce flames which are severly dampered due to the rain. The Flamethrower is more a gush of flames than a stream as the rain takes its toll. The fire melts some of the ice, but, definatly not enough to stop the attack. Marowak is thrown backwards, having taken the Ice Beam straight to the chest. He stands up groggily, clutching his bone for support.

    Hissing pleasantly, Spyte releases another fine Haze from his mouth, the purple mist-like substance floating over the arena, giving it an odd feel. The crowd starts to chant Spyte's name now, and he slithers along the ground quite happily, looking for Marowak. Marowak is now standing again, although his chest is very, very cold, and takes a deep breath, which causes pain to shoot through his lungs. It seems the beam of ice did something to poor Marowak's lungs! Ignoring the pain, he tries his best to sing a soothing melody, but the pounding of the rain, plus the pain, overcomes poor Marowak, and he gives up Singing, panting.

    By now, Spyte has found his opponent, and is deftly creeping up on him. Marowak looks around wildly. He doesn't want to Dig unless he knows where Spyte is, knowing that he could get away in time. Spyte then launches himself, clamping down tightly onto Marowak's Bone-holding arm, the poison in Spyte's mouth sinking into Marowak. With a bellow of agony, Marowak starts to twist in an odd dance, trying his best to throw Spyte off. Spyte releases, pleased about his handiwork, and lands silently a few feet away.. Marowak glares at Spyte, who slithers off backwards into the haze, and then digs a hole into the ground. Spyte watches, and then travels back to hear his trainer's next orders...

    End of round 3!

    Ok Spyte start off with an Earthquake to throw Marowak off balance. Now use a Flame Thrower in Marowak's general direction. I don't expect you do damage him, just to warm the air enough for the Icy Wind to lose it's strength. Finish with Thief and STEAL HIS BONE!

    Caballeso clutches his wound as his arm quivers from the burning venom in his veins. He snorts and locks his gaze again with the serpent and lowers his club to his side. An erratic wind spins forth around him and with the speed of the air currents with him he rushes at Spyte. The Seviper’s eyes widen at this sudden display of speed and raises his tail to smack the earth is hopes of toppling his opponent. There is no chance for his tail to hit the ground as he is slammed by the jarring tackle.

    They both land in a heap but Caballeso flips up to his feet and instantly exhale a frigid cyclone of wind to chill the snake out. Spyte lies on his back and open his dazed eyes to see the spinning gale and quickly dart up and around to release a stream of flame to battle the Marowak’s technique. It is now a fight between who has the most breath as neither gives an inch to the other and in the end the both stop simultaneously. They breathe haggardly in a dead stare at one another.

    The Bone Warrior grasps his club and raises it high over head. He chants rhythmically in his Marowak tongue and a shimmering gold light radiates from his body. Spyte know that something big is going to happen, and he has the break his opponents concentration some how. An evil smirk crosses his snaky lips as his eyes morph to the deepest black ever seen. The entire arena itself is suddenly shrouded in pitch darkness, but only for a split second. No one around has noticed a thing and as Caballeso goes to strike his club to the ground…there is only air. He searches franticly for his weapon and glance to a horrible scene, Spyte holding the club in his venomous jaws….

    Great move Spyte, now lets discourage Marowak even more by using Crunch to chew up his bone and make it un-useable! Now smack Caballeso with an Iron Tail and finish with a Giga Drain

    Did ancientpower work or not? I don't see anything saying Marowak needs his bone to be able to execute the attack.
