    Default Breeding Help

I'm consulting an FAQ in SPP but it doesn't really help.

I want a Miltank for the BF and caught one. Whoo. Anyway I want it with Heal Bell, but it learns Heal Bell at Level 53 and I was entering it into Lv 50. So I wanted to breed heal bell onto a baby.

Now this is what confuses me. Do both the mother and father need to have Heal Bell for the offspring to have it? Or if I bred a Male Smeargle (with Heal Bell) with a female Miltank (without HB) would the baby have it?

    Thanks.

I believe that both the father and the mother will need to know Heal Bell in order for the baby Miltank to know Heal Bell upon hatching. If you are trying to pass on an egg move or a TM move, then only the father needs to know the move. If you are trying to pass on a move to a newborn Pokémon that it normally will learn on it's own at a higher level, then both parents need to know the move.

Ok Thanks. Just out of curiosity, Miltank is for the BF, and I thought Milk Drink -- Heal Bell -- Shadow Ball/Body Slam -- Thunderwave/Thunderbolt.

Is Heal Bell necessary? If not I could replace it with something else.

[color=magenta]You prolly don't really need Heal Bell. With the 3 Pokémon per team format in the Frontier, you don't always have a whole lot of time to worry about Heal Belling, because the battles can be pretty quick, and the trainers can hit you pretty hard if you lose a turn while Heal Belling. You would probably be just as well off adding another attacking move for type coverage.

The sections of the Battle Frontier that Heal Belling would be most helpful in would be the Pyramid and the Pike.
