Abandoned Plateau

Hidden with the Indigo Leagues quarters is the famous original arena in which everything would take place in a tournament.
But no, right now, it remains empty, Except for two figures. One, standing on the opposite end of the battlefield, and the other, entering, both familiar faces, and both wanting victory.

“To lazy for any fancy effects.” Grey yawns, the sun just beginning to shine it rays onto the field. “6 on 6, Double battle.”

Weasel nods in acknowledgement. She carefully selects two pokeballs from her belt, and launches then forward.

In a bright flash two very different Pokemon appear. One, is a large glimmering Mantine, something special in its genes cause its skin to glimmer like silver.
The other is a tiny bird Pokemon that’s green, and is sitting directly under his ally; a little Natu. But none the less, it’s fierce.

Grey smiles’, releasing two of his own Pokemon, The first being an armoured bird, its wings razor sharp, just like its beak. It lets out s shrill shriek. It’s his Skarmory; Albatross.
When the second light fades, a small sort of miniature elephant stands there, unlike the rest of its Pokemon brethren, it’s a girl.

Oop, sorry Saku, Dei'is is a girl!! ^^;;

But anyway! Pixie and Dei'is, this is your first battle but you'll be okay while you work together! Pixie, I want you to start the round with a Supersonic against Terra, confuse her good! Then I want you to use a Surf, which hopefully hits the whole arena, but if not, I want you to cencentrate it on Terra once more. Then finish the round with an Icy Wind to freeze up the water and make it harder to move!

Dei'is, I want you to start with a Featherdance against Albatross to lower his attack power. I want you to follow up with a Psychic, also on Albatross. Screw with his wings a little, make it harder for him to fly. Finish the round with a Calm Mind for some protection.

Gyaha! I've got a strategy!!

Albatross, immediately allow Terra to climb on top of you and 1] Fly to avoid the inevitable water rush. Then, use 2] Protect against the psychic attack. Follow up by summoning a 3] Sandstorm! It'll cause some harm to the other team, as well as do something about the iced-up floor.

Terra, as you're climbing onto Albatross, do anything you can to avoid being confused: close your eyes, scream really loud, anything! Then, once you and Al are high in the air, you'll be safe from the water and eventual ice. I want you to wait until Icy Wind is used before you attack next; so when it does, I want you to dive down, using 2-3] Rollout! With the added force from your dive, the attack should be much stronger. Target: Pixie, then immediately hitting Dei'is with even more attack power!

Chapter One: The Arena now looks like Canada...

The round starts off with Pixie, the very oddly named shiny Mantine focusing on Terra, the small little Phanpy who goes running desperately towards her ally, Albatross, who is kneeling down, lying like he would on a nest, his eyes keenly focused on his opponents.

Pixie unleashes a horrible tune of 10 000 and one thoughts, but Terra isn't fooled, as she is struggling to climb up top the amused Skarmory, she's screaming her head off trying not to hear the damned tune.

Dei'is, who was recently mistaken for a boy by her trainer, starts up a very elegant dance, some feathers whipping around her as she begins to entrance Albatross, who, once he's sure the screaming Phanpy is on his back, flaps his brilliant metal wings.
Though the dance does calm him considerably, it doesn't mean he can't fly. Though this task is taking him a bit longer due to the quieted down Phanpy who apparently is terrified of heights.

Pixie isn't amused, upset by his failure to confuse Terra, he calls out in his mighty, low, monotone voice, causing water to erupt from behind him, and sweep over like a tsunami! The water rushes over everything! Including poor little Dei-is who is washes around before the water level lowers.

"PHANPY!!" Cries out Terra as she madly tries to urge the Calmed Albatross to fly just a bit faster, though he seems to be ignoring her.
Instead, he beats the water by an inch, a few sprinkles hitting his armoured feet. He laughs as Terra slumps down, nearly dying from an anxiety attack.

Dei'is, glaring over at Pixie for a second, focuses back on the Calmed Skarmory, her eyes beginning to glow a deep purple, Albatross glances as his wings as a shield glimmers over them. Dei'is breaks her concentration angrily. Albatross had already set up his protective shield!

The finishing actions commence, Pixie, careful to avoid Dei'is this time, summons a chilling wind, all the pokemon and their trainers watch the water covering the field turn to very thick, and slick ice. Thankfully, all that Albatross and his companion get is the small droplets of water freezing.

Dei'is, grumbling at her opponents, blow them all away. In fact she leaves reality all together. She begins to calm her mind, and feeling renewed, she opened them again.

Remember that Phanpy who was afraid of heights?

Terra sits ontop of Albatross, who is urging her to use her moves. Terrorifed, she soon is forced to use them Albatross begins to flap harder, and rougher to create a sandstorm, which actually turns more into an ice storm then anything. The ice whips around the field, and poor Terra, is sent diving into it!

3...2...1... IMPACT!

Ice shatters as Terra, already in rollout form and having considerable momentum, rips cross the field. Breaking through the Icy storm to slam right into Pixie, who is sent back a bit in surprise, as Pixie recovers, Terra turns tail and heads towards Dei'is, who lets out a screech as Terra slams full onto into her, before disappearing, back into the icy storm.

[color=#cccccc]Well done, Al and Terra. Now let's ready ourselves for round two! Immediately fire up Pixie with a 1-2] *Mental Block; a combination of Taunt and Torment. At the moment, he's our biggest threat. Then, send out a piercing 3] Metal Sound to lower both pokémons' defenses.

Terra, try to imprison Dei'is in a 1] Rock Tomb. If you're successful in doing so, she'll be grounded, so take advantage of it and follow that up with 2] Earthquake! Otherwise, use Secret Power using the ice around you: target Dei's again. Finally, use 3] Iron Tail on Dei'is.

Dei'is, I want you to start off with a Faint Attack on Terra, make sure you wait til the move has almost finished before getting out of there! Then I want you to fly up as high as you can to escape that Earthquake. When you're in the air, use a Flash to scramble their vision and cheep loudly to let Pixie know, and finish the round with a Shadow Ball on Albatross.

Pixie, make sure you glide up high to avoid that Rock Tomb and that Earthquake and start the round by closing your eyes tightly so you don't see that Mental Blocking Skarmory! Now you have your eyes closed, I want you to wait until Dei'is is in the air before once again using a Surf; hopefully Terra will still be on the ground.
ake sure you keep your eyes shut for that Flash! Finish up with an Aerial Ace at Terra.

Chapter Two: Flying High

This round begins with two very different things happening not to far from each other. Its almost like the pokemon aren't even on a team, Albatross begins to torment and taunt poor Pixie who begins to glide upwards, though not exactly getting the tormented part of the attack, Pixie becomes enraged by the horrible words taunting him.
While Terra focuses on the small bird known as Dei'is. Who looks around confused as the ground rumbles and quakes, large rock and ice formation sprout from the ground, but Dei'is isn't fooled, just as the rocks collapse, she disappears.

Then from nowhere, Dei'is reappears! And strikes Terra on her side. The Phanpy lets out a cry of shock before she turns to face the peppy bird.

Before any pokemon can do anything, the rather calm Skarmory releases a high-pitched, horrific sound that strikes all the pokemon on the field. Even little Terra, who shakes her head before firing off a white beam glimmering with shades of blues at Dei'is.
Dei'is, who is flying up high, gets struck. Just barely, as she's almost out of reach, she chirps as loud as she can, causing the ever-defiant Pixie to summon a gigantic wave of water! As the Mantine does that, Dei'is uses a flash directly in Albatross's face.
Though Albatross's eyesight is difficult, and he fluttered a bit, he's not as unlucky as Terra who is engulfed by the MASSIVE wave. Her cries are lost to the water as it washes over the arena.

Pixie, figuring that the flash is done, open his eyes, turns to see his hopeless opponent drenched in water. Pixie can't help but laugh to himself, seeing a Ground pokemon in a now water and ice arena. Hastily, he launches an Ariel ace that cuts through the water, and slam into poor Terra. Who can't do anything due to his opponents being too high.

Dei'is turns to Albatross. Who gulps as a ball of nothing energy that is larger that the pokemon charging it is fired off towards him. He takes the hit like a man, but drops a few feet.

Dei'is, I want you to stay in the air, the ground is too dangerous for you right now. From the air, you shall use a Thunder Wave upon Terra. It shouldn't be hard for the attack to hit, since Terra's surrounded by water. Follow it up with a Drill Peck at Albatross, try to get through his metal hide! Almost as soon as you've done the attack, I want you to Teleport away from the battle. Get as far away from that Skarmory as you can do! He could be dangerous...

Now, Pixie, I want you to start this round by staying in the air also. For you first move, you shall use a Twister, aim it towards Albatross, I want you to fiddle with his ability to fly. Follow it up with an Ice Beam. Aim it at the water and Terra. If it's frozen, she won't be able to move very well! Finish the round with an Aerial Ace on Albatross. Time it so that you get there just after Dei'is Teleports away, okay?

Albatross, dive as low to the ground as possible using 1] Agility to avoid that monsterous tornado. Stay there until Terra pulls herself up onto you, then immediately 2] Fly[/b] up into the air whilst simultaneously using 3] Iron Defense to keep yourselves protected from the drill peck!

Terra, immediately climb onto Al's back once more before that ice beam can solidify the ground. Then, take the natu down a peg by leaping off of Al's back in a 2] Rollout! Hopefully, you'll cause enough damage from above to bring her down to your level. Finish off once more by using the ice around you to conjure a 3] Secret Power at the same target!

Chapter Three: Adrenaline rush

Sensing immediately danger, Albatross releases adrenaline into his system. The fluid slowly leaks into his body, causing his breathes to quicken, and his relax to become faster then ever. It also seems to trigger a man sort of dodging technique.
As the powerful funnel of wind touches down on the ground, it immediately becomes more of a water funnel. Pixie smiles as the powerful funnel's suction begins to grab a hold of albatross, but with his boost in adrenaline, he beats his wings, and takes off, evading the horrible twister as it begins to fade.

Dei'is glares down at poor Terra, who simply does the same as her Squad leader Albatross, releasing a fair amount of Adrenaline into her own system, completely unaffected by the thunder wave that was sent into the water.

Annoyed, Dei'is plans another approach.

As Pixie turns his attention to the ground, Terra's eyes grow wide and she looks up at Albatross. Giving out a shrill call of fear over the battlefield. Albatross's gaze turns to his friend.

Water and ice are torn from the gorgeous scenery as what looks like a futuristic jet fighter cuts so close to the ground that the ice that does start to fly is melted by the speed.
Terra, already pumped with energy leaps, and in a show of pure dumb luck, she lands on the futuristic fighter who goes skywards, soon Albatross's metal coat glimmers, starting to shine even brighter in the suns rays as he keeps going. Much like an angelic figure.

Pixie watches the water turn to ice once again, but is irritated he discovers that Terra is on albatross's back, and ready for revenge.

As Dei'is pulls in close for a drill peck, even if it is going to be weakened by Iron Defense, isn't ever going to make it there. Terra makes a daring move and jumps from her ally's back. In another show of dumb luck (and most probably helped with suicidal tendencies, this Phanpy seems to have a death wish...), Terra nails her opponent, all the while managing to keep the tiny 8 inch bird under her, until...

WHUMP

Both pokemon hit the ground relatively hard. Poor Dei'is! A muffled cry of pain is heard as Terra, can't move, still recovering from her fear of heights and how she's defied them twice already by jumping.

Pixie, ignoring his ally in need, turns to Albatross. Glaring at the metal bird, he fires of an Ariel ace, that would done more damage except for the armour upgrade he recently received.

As Terra lifts herself off her opponent, poor Dei'is looks like a cartoons version of what would happen if someone fell off a building. She had been froced to make her own hole with her butt, and is not stuck. She wiggles, trying to get free as the vengeful (and INSANE) Phanpy powers up an Icy Secret power. But in the nick of time she disappears, the beam hits the ground causing ice to go everywhere, and Dei'is reappears far from the battlefield.... To the left...

Albatross, dive to the ground and use 1] Rock Slide Dei'is. Then, use 2] Sky Attack on Pixie! Finally, relax. However, if any Drill Pecks come your way, be sure to Counter them justly.

Terra, up your accuracy with 1] Odor Sleuth, immediately followed by another 2] Secret Power. Target Dei'is. And finally, hit Pixie with an 3] Ancientpower! However, like Albatross, use Counter against any Drill Pecks.

Either way, I'll post me attacks now...

Dei'is! Start the round with a Teleport to escape that Rock Slide. Get behind Albatross and use a Confuse Ray on him! Finish up with a Psychic on Terra. Try to scramble her mind so she can't use Secret Power on you.

Pixie, I want you to begin with a Water Pulse on Albatross, maybe it'll stop him using that Rock Slide. Follow that up with a Bubble, but gather them around you and finish the round with a bubbly Dive onto Terra! Hopefully the mix of attacks will do enough damage.

Dei'is: Teleport (escape the Rock Slide and get behind Albatross) ~Confuse Ray (on Albatross) ~Psychic (on Terra, scramble her mind)

Pixie: Water Pulse (on Albatross) ~Bubble (gather the bubbles around yourself) ~Dive (Dive onto Terra with the gathered bubbles...)

[center]Chapter Four: Long over due..

This very delayed Chapter of Drew's and Weasel's novel begins again. The Metal bird targets innocent, who ahs recently escaped the madness, but now is dragged back into it! Albatross swoops down and rips chunks of ice from the icy floor, and hurls them at Dei'is! Who appears to be ontop of things because she disappears! Albatross blinks in utter confusion as the chunks slam onto the ground. Poor Albatross is so confused on where the Natu went that Pixie and his Water pulse nail him from behind! Sneaky little bigger!
All the while Terra is on the ground sniffing the air, her she begins to locate her opponents, but she catches the scent of the mysterious vanishing Natu and turns around. There is Dei'is, perched on a jagged piece of ice. Minding her own business.

Albatross lets out a mighty screech, flapping his brilliant wings he begins to go upwards, soon only becoming a dot in anyone's view. Because of his sheer height, Dei'is can use confuse Ray on the metal bird! Instead she sits there, until she becomes a soccer ball to a secret power! Terra smiles, seeing her attack has made a direct hit.
A low monotone sound wakes Phanpy from her happiness, she turns just in time to get thwack by a shimmering dive! The gathered bubbles around Pixie 'explode' when they touch Terra, who tumbles back, slightly dampened from the hit.

The final round begins with Terra taking on Pixie, who really can only helplessly watch. But Terra is smiling, She's timing it, perfectly. A loud screech causes Pixie to try and look up, but it's to late! Albatross has come down beak first with amazing pressure on Pixie, who is slammed into the Ground, but then is toppled over again when an Ancientpower slams into his belly.
Dei'is, enraged by her friend being brutally double-teamed, attacks Terra's mind. Terra begins to wobble, shaking her head furious and calling out her name. We can only imagine the pain and confusion being inflicted right now.

Dei'is, I want you to start off with another Psychic, this time, aim it at Albatross. Then, I want you to use a Faint Attack, to appear next to Terra, and follow it up with a Drill Peck once again, at Terra.

Pixie, for your attacks, I want you use a Twister at Albatross, make it hard for him to fly! Follow that up with gliding as high as you can and then using a Slam on Terra. Finish the round with a concentrated Hydro Pump at Albatross.

Albatross, when Dei'is tries to use psychic on you, break her concentration with a loud shrilling 1Metal Sound whilst using 2Air Cutter to break apart the oncoming twister! Finally, let's go for another 3Sandstorm!

Terra, I want you to 1plug your ears through any means necessary to avoid that screech. Then, when Dei'is and Pixie come down at you with their respected attacks, 2-3Counter them both!
