The first manga you ever read?

Okay, hello everyone. Im new here so if this topic has been posted sometimes, im sorry.

What was the first manga you ever read? And what did get you to buy/read it?

Ill start, and the first time i got into manga was last year, when walking in a small bookstore and i saw this manga that i thought looked cool. I didnt know anything about manga then, totally nothing, but i bought it anyway! And im really glad i did. Because i loved it, i just read one episode and then i got hooked. =P
And ive been reading manga since then.
Oh, forgot to say, the first manga i bought was Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Anyway, the first manga I ever read was .hack//Legend of Twilight. I was a big fan of the PS2 games, and when I heard about the manga expansion, I decided to read it. It was a good series, but the ending was poorly done...

That was Summer 2003; now I have a little over 100 volumes of manga now. :biggrin:

And i also liked the Hack games alot... didnt know there was a manga, so thanks alot for that information! I must check that out! ^^

Volume 9 came out in November of 2004, but I had to special order it at Barnes and Noble to get it.

[b][size=3] I used to make a hugely collection of Dragonball manga and also a couple of Doraemon. Some after that, I threw them out since my mom was really furious at it affecting my studies. Well all that was during my primary school days.

As for now, I had 11 volumes of Suzuka manga and also the full 5 books collection of Mai Hime.

The first manga I read was AGES ago was the original Pokemon manga, followed by Sailor Moon.

I've been hooked on manga ever since. ^__^ I don't really own that much though... The only manga series I own near-completion is Cardcaptor Sakura and Chrono Crusade. Everything else is just random manga I bought at one point or another. ^^;;

The first manga I remember reading, aside from those random pick-ups, was Love Hina, which my friend had scans of on his old website. That was before the series was completed.

First manga I bought was NGE, followed by Slam Dunk. But my pride is owning several ghibli-related manga, including a first-print of "The Cat Returns" sequel of sorts, Yume no Machi (Town of Dreams).

And I plan to get all ghibli-related manga, assuming they're still available.

The very first manga I read was Magic Knight Rayearth. I saw it at Disney World and decided it was worth a read; ended up buying it. I lost it when we moved, though...

The first manga that I read that I still have, embarassingly enough, is Saber Marionette J.

Right now, I own 336 manga books (not counting those I've lost but including manga-based novels). I'm more of a reader, not a watcher.

The very first manga that I ever read was Sailormoon I think.. I was in Chiko Sai's house and saw her collection of Sailormoon manga.. read that... Or possibly it was Doraemon. *tries to remember*

[b][size=3] This is basically nothing. I have a whole drawer to dump my manga, taking into account my manga collection is small. However for animes, I have CDs all over my room. I have lost count of them, however I still have lots of them still with my friends.

I keep my anime in a large cabinet located in my game room. My manga is stored on 3 wide shelves in my bedroom.

My anime collection is relatively small; I keep it on the top of bookcase #1 and on a random shelf on a random table-thing-ish-thing in the middle of my room. My manga currently occupies three wide shelves, two semi-shelves, and almost four medium-shelves of multiple bookcases in my room.
I keep having to clear off shelves to make space... lol

Apart from burned anime which occupies about 300 CDs, the hardcopies of those I actually bought are all in one small 1x1.5 sqft area of space. So it's not a lot.

Then again, I'm living in a tiny room with two brothers. Plus, about 35% of my cupboard is already saturated with other collections, mainly PTCG and toys.

In high school, I knew a guy who had a big manga collection and he let me borrow some to read. I believe the first one I read was Angelic Layer and then The Candidate for Goddess. After I finished those, I started reading Chronicles of the Cursed Sword, King of Hell, Rave Master and Shaman King but after high school ended, I couldn't continue borrowing them

Genbu edition is cool expecially since that wasn't put into anime form.

My first manga was Ranma 1/2--funniest thing I've ever read

Unfortunately I had to get rid of the manga to make space for other things (my CDs mostly)--just didn't have the room for both.
I made up for it by using the library or the bookstore for my manga reading outlet.
