Default Blademaster VS. Dark Dragonite (Ref: darktyranitar) - BATTLE COMPLETE

Hey, DD, you still have a slot open? 'Cuz if you do, I'm ready.

    Here's my conditions:

    1. Since Sashimi is my only evolved Pokemon, I wanna make this a 1-on-1 battle.
    2. I'll be sending out my Pokemon first, so I guess you can attack first. Or the ref can decide - I don't care.
    3. DQ time is 5 days.
    4. Just to be fair, our ref can pick the Arena.
    5. Banned moves = Toxic, Perish Song, Rest, Thunder Wave, Substitute
    6. Add whatever else you want.

    I'll be waiting...

    (tosses out Pokeball; Gyarados emerges)

    And so will Sashimi.

Outlawing...well, I would personally like to get rid of Twave, substitute, and Rest...

I'm ready for this one, I also only have one evolved pokemon, granted I have ones that don't evolve at all(Sableye,Castform,KKahn)...who will Gyarados face off with...Well, Drew's Quagsire would be interesting, but I think I will go with Feizhi(F KKahn)

We'll post attacks when I know what arena we're up against...

Hmm... Sure. I guess I can ref this one for you guys.

I'll post the arena later when I'm free... but I have a question. Do Gyarados need to stay in water to battle? 'Cause if he doesn't, then I might go for a non-water arena.

Thanks a lot, Faiz. That's like the third battle you've helped me with.

And I don't think Sashimi really needs water - he can probably move about on land like a snake if he has to.

Feizhi, let's go with a Double Team, then, we'll go even more defensive...if Sashimi comes to physically hit you, give it a good Thunderpunch, if Sashimi prefers to stay at a distance, Rock slide!

    Right, here I am...

And I'm still unsure on Double Team and Rain Dance. Would Rain Dance put out the clones? I guess it will...

    Blademaster VS Dark Dragonite

    Round One

    Arena: The Road To Ruin

Banned move: Toxic, Perish Song, Rest, Thunder Wave, Substitute

    Prebattle

An early morning on this quite dull and old looking ruin… Two people could be seen at the gate, their Pokemon sitting beside them. One was an old veteran of ASB, Dark Dragonite, accompanied with his female Kangaskhan, Feizhi. The other was Blademaster, who was accompanied by his male Gyarados, Sashimi; one that had evolved recently from a Magikarp nicknamed Sushi (Sushi to Sashimi? Hm, all this makes me suddenly hungry for seafood!)

Let’s not wait any further for the Road To Ruin!

As for the ref… wait… he was busy checking over some of the remaining artefacts of the ruins. He rose up immediately upon noticing the two battlers, and with a silly grin, commenced the battle. DD and BM sweatdropped a bit, but they got in place nonetheless.

    Stats:

    Team Blademaster

    Sashimi (M)
    HP: 100%
    Energy: 100%

    Team Dark Dragonite

    Feizhi (F)
    HP: 100%
    Energy: 100%
    Status: Ready to go!
Attack Command: Double Team ~ Thunderpunch/Rock Slide ~ Thunderpunch/Rock Slide

Background music: Still Island: DJ Krush featuring Shuuzan Morita

    Round One~ Begin!

Feizhi started off by going on defensive, creating five clones of herself. She grinned, as she was certain that Sashimi would have to go through some attack to deplete all of her clones. But all Sashimi need was a rain. Yes, a rain. Sashimi looked up at the sky momentarily, muttering a chant under his breath. The sky then darkens as thick, dark clouds started to occupy the sky. A thunder was heard, and then there was a heavy downpour.

The one remaining Feizhi then glanced at her wet fur, before she realized that all of her clones were dispelled. She then picked up some rocks beside her, and without any hesitation, threw them towards Sashimi (12% damage). Sashimi roared at the attack, and egan to charge a huge amount of electricity before him. Feizhi watched in wonder, as the electricity was then fired on the clouds that lied high on top of them. A second thundering voice was heard, followed by a bright flash of lightning. Feizhi shouted on top of her voice, as the high-voltage lightning struck down on her (12% damage).

Feizhi shivered from the aftermath of the Thunder attack, before she got up on her feet again. Immediately, she picked up some more rocks, performing the same action that she had done the previous turn. But this time, Sashimi gave a hard knock towards the rocks with a swish of her tail, sending the rocks flying back towards Feizhi. Feizhi fell down on her back, feeling the pain from the splinter of rocks that had pierced over her tender skin (6% damage). Sashimi, meanwhile, suffered some minor cuts on her tail from re-directing the Rock Slide attack, but it was nothing too serious.

    End of Round One

    Stats:

    Team Blademaster

    Sashimi (M)
    HP: 88%
    Energy: 86%
Status: Minor cuts on tails and scales

Status: Splinter of rocks splintering her skin

    Blademaster attack first
    Dark Dragonite attack second

    Arena Status:

I have a problem with the damage...

Rock slide is super effective, and did 8% damage?
Meanwhile, Thunder, not super effective did 12%, and a rock smash, sending smaller pieces of the original attack did the same 8% damage to Feizhi, as it did to a pokemon with a 2X Rock weakness?

EDIT: it seems you are going by base power, in which case, yes, thunder would do 12%, but Rock slide would do 15% to Gyarados, and maybe the smashed rocks would do 4-6% damage tops, imo

I agree with the Rock Slide, but I think 15% damage is a bit too high for a Rock Slide. Well, in my reffing anyway. Here, I've edited it to 12% damage. Sounds good?

Feizhi, close your eyes, cover your ears and sing, then use Rain dance to your aid, and exploit a 4X weakness with Thunder, then finish with Thunderbolt!!

    Blademaster VS Dark Dragonite

    Round Two

    Arena: The Road To Ruin

Banned move: Toxic, Perish Song, Rest, Thunder Wave, Substitute

    Stats:

    Team Blademaster

    Sashimi (M)
    HP: 92%
    Energy: 86%
Status: Minor cuts on tails and scales
Attack Command: Taunt ~ Dragon Rage ~ Water Pulse

Attack Command: Sing ~ Thunder ~ Thunderbolt

Background music: Still Island: DJ Krush featuring Shuuzan Morita

    Round Two~ Begin!

Sashimi begins by attempting to drive Feizhi crazy with a Taunt. Feizhi hung her head low, her eyes closed and her paws covered over her ears. She then began to sing a melodious song, attempting to drown out the taunting of Sashimi. Sashimi continued her taunting, eager to anger Feizhi. He continued and continued, and Feizhi sang and sang… Sashimi then fell like a log, her eyes closed, and he was snoring loudly. Feizhi had triumphed over the sing-and-taunt competition.

Feizhi then began to summon the similar electric attack that Sashimi performed earlier, and what had Sashimi last word before he would be deep-fried?

    “Zzzz…”

“BOOM!” came a loud thundering voice right after a bright flash of lightning. Sashimi body began to smoke, as the high voltage electricity passed through him (16% damage). Mm, Sashimi suddenly smelled delicious…

Feizhi summoned a bolt of electricity, but instead of firing it up towards the sky, he fired it straight towards Sashimi. Sashimi, although still deep in his sleep, moved and thrashed from the force of electricity coursing through his body (14% damage).

Ooh, Sashimi is being deep-fried… And yet, he's still asleep…

    End of Round Two

    Stats:

    Team Blademaster

    Sashimi (M)

Ok Feizhi, we have Sashimi on the ropes, let's put this out of reach if possible...Hopefully, Sashimi will stay asleep long enough for you to Focus Energy to prepare for whatever Blade has planned and get ready to deep fry Sashimi with Thunderbolt. Then, seeing as it is wet, hit him again with a Thunderbolt!!

Background music: Still Island: DJ Krush featuring Shuuzan Morita

    Round Three~ Begin!

Feizhi closed her eyes in deep concentration, preparing for whatever that Sashimi would throw at him. Sashimi head rose up once, twice- and then his eyes were opened, and he was ready to attack! He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, producing 5 exact copy of himself.

There was silence between both of them… Sashimi then felt that something was wrong. He looked around, and then realised- the rain had destroyed all of his clones!

Feizhi smirked to herself, and launched off a bolt of electricity towards Sashimi (14% damage). Sashimi took the damage, all the same putting a sort of curse to Feizhi. Feizhi didn’t realise this, so she prepared for another Thunderbolt. She immediately fell to her knees, feeling a sudden pain at the back of her head. Sashimi then took a deep breath in, before exhaling a violent cloud of ice, which froze over Feizhi’s skin (12% damage), and still keeping the splinter of rocks intact.

The rain continues to fall, which helped in washing away some of the ice flakes and the thin line of blood that was oozing from the cut over Feizhi’s skin.

    End of Round Three

    Stats:

    Team Blademaster

    Sashimi (M)

    OK, Sashimi, let's see now...

Feizhi looks a little chilly... why don't you warm her up a bit with your Dragonbreath? Then use Thunder; give her a taste of her own bad-tasting medicine! Finish up with a Twister and send her sailing!

If she tries to lull you to sleep with Sing, use a Roar and drown it out. If she tries an onslaught of Thunder attacks, use your Dragon Rage to counter them.

    Round Four~ Begin!

In a display of mock pity, Sashimi gave the chilly Feizhi a warm yet nasty Dragonbreath (8% damage). But Feizhi wasn’t going to take the attack for nothing; she began to pick up a group of rocks, throwing them towards Sashimi’s head (10% damage). Without any hesitation, Feizhi stomped both her feet on the ground, causing a group of rock to emerge from the ground below Sashimi (8% damage). It wasn’t long before Sashimi is fully covered in the rock, buried alive.

Sashimi tries for a Thunder attack, but he only achieved in breaking the top of the rocky prison around him. What came next from Feizhi was a melodious (is it?) and soothing song, which put Sashimi to sleep in no time. Feizhi chuckled, watching over her handiwork; a sleeping Gyarados inside a rocky prison (or grave, if you want to call it)

    End of Round Four

Hee, agreed! Now, let's get this back on the road!

Woot! This be my 2000th post!

    Blademaster VS Dark Dragonite

    Round Five

    Arena: The Road To Ruin

Banned move: Toxic, Perish Song, Rest, Thunder Wave, Substitute

    Stats:

    Team Blademaster

    Sashimi (M)
    HP: 30%
    Energy: 56%
Status: Minor cuts on tails and scales, asleep. Trapped in a rocky grave.
    Attack Command: Sleep Talk/Protect ~ Sleep Talk/Rock Smash ~ Sleep Talk/Rock Smash

    Team Dark Dragonite

    Feizhi (F)
    HP: 60%
    Energy: 48%
Status: Splinter of rocks splintering her skin, satisifed
Tormented ~ Unable to use the same move in a row for next 1 round
Attack Command: Thunder/Thunderbolt~ Rock Slide/Thunder ~ Rock Tomb

    Background music: Forest Fantasia: Kitaro

    Round Five~ Begin!

It was evident that Feizhi’s trainer, DD was very eager to end this match. Immediately, he commanded the attacks that she would use, depending on Sashimi’s state.

Sensing no movement from the rocky grave, Feizhi immediately fired a Thunder attack (an attack that had became staple in this match, interestingly). But to her dismay, Sashimi had woke up before she could even launch her attack, and now, he had created a protective barrier to block the incoming electric attack that would otherwise deep-fry him.

Shrugging, Feizhi moved for a Rock Slide attack, determined to keep Sashimi in the rocky grave as long as possible. But what’s this? The rocky grave was broken due to Sashimi’s Rock Smash attack. And even worse was that the rock projectiles that she threw were redirected back towards her. Obviously, it was painful to feel the rocks splintering her already damaged skin (7% damage). As for Sashimi, it seems that his re-directing attack caused the cuts on his tail to grow.

Feizhi wasn’t going to be stopped easily. She stamped her foot on the ground, causing rocks to start caving in towards Sashimi. Sashimi wasn’t going to let himself to be encased in the rocky grave again, oh no he won’t! Swiftly, he swished his tail over the rock, breaking every single one of them into hundred pieces. The effort brought pain to his tail, as the bleeding on his tail was starting to worsen… What’s more was that the rain had stopped, and so the blood on his tail wound still remains.

    End of Round Five

    Stats:

    Team Blademaster

    Sashimi (M)
    HP: 30%
    Energy: 38%
    Status: Tail bleeding

    Team Dark Dragonite

    Feizhi (F)
    HP: 53%
    Energy: 33%
Status: More splinters of rocks splintering her skin, a bit unsatisfied

    Blademaster attack first
    Dark Dragonite attack second

Arena Status: The Road To Ruin
Some rocks were picked up from Feizhi’s Rock Slide. Rain Dance ends.
    Please take it easy~

You're a Hell of a combatant yourself, Steve...

But make no mistake - you and Feizhi haven't won yet. Me and Sashimi will find a way to pull this off!

    I hope...

    Jungle

Sashimi, I have an idea - the ground around you is wet; add that to the dirt and dust from all these Rock/Earth attacks, and what do you get? Mud! Stop, drop, and roll ASAP, Sashimi - cover yourself with the mud! It'll shield you from those Electric attacks! Once that's done, slam her with an Earthquake and then use Flamethrower!

If she tries to exploit your Rock weakness with a Rock Slide, counter with Rock Smash again.

Move: Stop, drop, and roll - Earthquake - Flamethrower
    Sub: Rock Smash (as needed)

'Tis true...but I'm going to earn this winif I can help it!!

Feizhi, no more games...After Sashimi has rolled around, call for a Rain Dance, then, if Sashimi is cleaned of mud, Thunderbolt it, if not, Disable Sashimi. Finally, again depending on whether Sashimi is clean, Thunderbolt if he is, or Rock Tomb if he isn't!!

    I didn't use "rock slide" here...hehehe...

Heh, the outcome is pretty interesting, I'd say:

    Blademaster VS Dark Dragonite

    Round Six

    Arena: The Road To Ruin

Banned move: Toxic, Perish Song, Rest, Thunder Wave, Substitute

    Stats:

    Team Blademaster

    Sashimi (M)
    HP: 30%
    Energy: 38%
    Status: Tail bleeding
Attack Command: Stop, drop, and roll ~ Earthquake ~ Flamethrower
    Sub: Rock Smash (as needed)

    Team Dark Dragonite

    Feizhi (F)
    HP: 53%
    Energy: 33%
Status: More splinters of rocks splintering her skin, a bit unsatisfied
    Attack Command: Rain Dance ~ Thunderbolt/Disable ~ Thunderbolt/Rock Tomb

    Background music: Forest Fantasia: Kitaro

    Round Six~ Begin!

Blademaster looked around and noticed something that could be a benefit to him.

Immediately, Sashimi was down on his gut, and he rolled his body over the mud, successfully encasing himself in mud. Now, since the sun was up, it meant that the layer of mud on his skin hardens to form a protective earth barrier against electric attack!

Feizhi could have been impressed, but she isn’t. She began to summon upon the rain clouds, and in no time at all, a downpour fell upon them.

Sashimi growled in dissatisfaction, and immediately launched himself towards Feizhi in an Earthquake attack. Noticing that the rain had already wash the layer of mud away, Feizhi began to charge an energy of electricity, and unleashed it just as Sashimi was inches above her… The stunned Sashimi continued his descend on Feizhi, causing some heavy damage to the ruin. And Feizhi as well (14% damage to Sashimi, 13% damage to Feizhi).

Sashimi got up from the Earthquake attack and fired a Flamethrower attack, which was immediately weakened due to the rain (5% damage). Feizhi grinned, as she set up another Thunderbolt attack… The attack sends Sashimi sprawling away, dealing a massive damage…

But wait! He survives! He survives at the leg of his last remaining HP! (14% damage)

    End of Round Six

    Stats:

    Team Blademaster

    Sashimi (M)
    HP: 02%
    Energy: 23%
Status: Down to his last HP!

    Team Dark Dragonite

    Feizhi (F)
    HP: 35%
    Energy: 17%
Status: More splinters of rocks splintering her skin, feeling almost victorious

    Dark Dragonite attack first
    Blademaster attack second

Arena Status: The Road To Ruin
Some rocks were picked up from Feizhi’s Rock Slide. Rain Dance remains for next 4 round.

Ok Feizhi, Here's how we'll do this...Disable followed by a quick Fake Out, and followed by shutting your eyes, ears, and relaxing, if Gyarados is still around...if somehow he protects against disable, and tries to protect again, relax, eyes and ears closed...if gyarados attacks, hit him with thunderbolt...that should end it...

    Jungle

Well, as much as I'd like this battle to end, I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet...

Sashimi, Taunt Feizhi before she can Disable you, and then Endure her Fake Out. Finally, as cheap as this is, wait for her to relax - her commands were Disable, Fake Out, Relax - wait as long as you can, so she can't change Relax to Thunderbolt, and then put that Rain Dance to good use - use Hydro Pump!

If she doesn't use Fake Out because you guarded against her Disable, use Hydro Pump while she's relaxing, and then when she retaliates with Thunderbolt, YOU retaliate that with a Twister - catch that Thunderbolt and send it right back, with interest!

    Move: Taunt, Endure, Hydro Pump
    Sub: --------, Hydro Pump, Twister

    Blademaster VS Dark Dragonite

    Round Seven

    Arena: The Road To Ruin

Banned move: Toxic, Perish Song, Rest, Thunder Wave, Substitute

    Stats:

    Team Blademaster

    Energy: 17%
Status: More splinters of rocks splintering her skin, feeling almost victorious
Attack Command: Disable ~ Fake Out ~ Relax/Thunderbolt

    Background music: Forest Fantasia: Kitaro

    Round Seven~ Begin!

Knowing how low his health is, Sashimi went into provoking Feizhi- and she fell for it, abandoning her given attack command.

Then- WHOOSH! Feizhi darted towards Sashimi, landing him a light tackle. Thinking that the attack was all it takes to take him out, Feizhi slowly got up and returned to her previous place.

Oh, but what’s this? Sashimi has barely survived the attack by enduring it! (1% damage) Seeing that her opponent was still standing, Feizhi let loose a bolt of electricity. But to her surprise, the attack took a turn and began to spin in a tornado-pattern in the middle of the arena, as if it was sucked into a vortex.

The electricity flew around, gaining speed, until the tornado itself was visible; a pinkish tornado of dragon energy. Feizhi then shivered, as the tornado spun around her, shocking her with her own attack (8% damage).

    Things are getting complicated…

    End of Round Seven

    Stats:

    Team Blademaster

    Sashimi (M)
    HP: 01%

Well, ****. I was hoping to do a bit more damage than that...

    Jungle

    Sashimi...

    We can still win this.

Here's the plan - if she relaxes, use Dragon Rage. If she uses a Special Attack like her Electric attacks, use Twister and send it back. If she tries to attack physically, use Ice Beam to immobilize her. And if she uses her Rock attacks, break 'em up with Rock Smash.

    Move: Dragon Rage x3
Subs: Twister (as needed), Ice Beam (as needed), Rock Smash (as needed)

Sorry, but I have a slight problem with the reffing...

    Ok,
1: Feizhi only used 2 attacks
2: If she was enraged, and still is, why wouldn't she have tried to stay in close and do more damage?
3: How the heck did taunt, endure, and twister only use 10% energy, but a "light tackle" and thunderbolt used 6%? Isn't endure a highly fatiguing move?

By my calculations...Sashimi should be down...either by fatigue, or being attacked a second time, with thunderbolt being the third, which, by her using a command I told her to, she should no longer be taunted...basically, she got pissed, came in for a "light hit"? and then used her 3rd move second, and sat there being taunted, and doing nothing waiting to get hit?

After looking at the reffing upon Dark Dragonite's request, here are my thoughts.

Endure does burn energy IF the foe has a lot to endure. Fake Out is a very weak attack and therefore it is much easier to endure than if you had used shock wave or thunderbolt in that action. It is also worth noting that in the games, this can only be used in the first action per pairing (if this were to transfer to ASB, it could only be used in slot 1 of each round), although I am unsure if Dark Tyranitar uses game descriptions or ASB.

Feizhi used two attacks because the taunts provoked her. Therefore her first action was cancelled out. Disable can take longer to execute than a taunt, so I can see DT's logic used there.

The thunderbolt and twister idea was rather unique I must say, but it could work. Taunt requires little energy - I could shout out "Hey ****" to the postman as he's going by and it doesn't use much up. Endure I mentioned above and as for twister...it would maybe use more energy than that but it is a moderately weak attack IIRC.

Thunderbolt and Fake Out should do more than 6% - I think, anyway, when a Pokemon uses an attack it isnt familliar with (Kkhan with ice beam, flamethrower, thunderbolt etc, or Electabuzz with psychic) the energy cost would be slightly higher but this is something I intergrate into my reffings and not a general rule.

DD I appreciate your concern but some of it seems slightly confusing. I believe thunderbolt and twister were used at the same time, but the thunderbolt takes time to travel, whereas the twister is unleashed before Gyarados.

As for taunt - the move enrages the Pokemon. It means they focus on hurting their opponent, and only uses attacking moves. It does not mean they suddenly try and rip and tear their opponent at every given time.

    Thank you

Ok Feizhi, If Sashimi is touching the ground, Earthquake, I do believe there is no countering that with a twister...if Sashimi is not touching the ground, go in with a Fake out, since it's a fast hit, and if Sashimi uses ice beam, flamethrower it on your way in for your hit...if you are in close now, and sashimi is still around, bite it
