Default Discussion: best starter out there...

Hey guys, we got a new board so we might as well get a new topic lol. but yea, i decided to start up a discussion about who you, in your opinion, was the best starting pokémon. it could be one you used, one you went up against, or one you saw. just say the name, and why you thought they made such a great starter. for me personally, i was a fan of using tentacruel as my starter. now, i know he wouldn't be that good against an electric type starter, but he was more powerful then people gave him credit for. i used to have SD, DT, sludge bomb and i think surf or something, i don't remember. definately was a pain for those who didn't use an electric type. but yea, so what do you think?

Honestly, I think the best starter Pokemon would be Something with this set

    Pokemon @ MiracleBerry / Nothing
    - Defensive Move
    - Physical Attack
    - Physical Attack
    - Theif

Theif would steal there Leftovers from the Pokemon, possibly Sneasel, or Gligar, or Ursaring, was originallly what I think the metagame was, but now in the Metagame I think it should probably be Nidoking or Nidoqueen, or Fortresses. Since Nidoking and Queen, can use Bolt/Beam and Fire Blast for Fortresses, plus it can Roar away things, that try to use Paralysis moves, and Sleep moves. Even though Sleep moves are useless in G/S/C, because almost everything uses Sleep Talk/Rest. Paralysis and Poison is the same way, cuz of the Sleep Talk thing. Fortresses, because it can explode, but with the other starter has Fire Blast/flamethrower, or hidden power fire; then it might be a problem.

I always liked using Gengar as a starter. Counter killed any non stabbed EQ pokemon and he can learn thief, has alot of moveoptions (special however). Oh well. Confuse Ray, Firepunch, etc.. are always handy.
