The 2007 Silver Pencil Awards - Suggestion Topic!

Hey, everyone! It's that time of year again... brace yourselves for the Silver Pencil Awards!

As we've done for many years now, we'd like to start things by giving all of you, the fanficcers, the chance to help decide what awards we'll be giving away. Below is a list of the categories we used for the 2006 Silver Pencils. If you'd like to add something to this years Awards, or if you think there's a category we don't need this time, speak up! We'd love to have your input.

I think you all get the idea, so without further ado, let's get this party started!

I think we should do the same thing we did with the Golden awards, and have a "Best Yu-Gi-Oh Fic" award.

Here's my input.


Ditch these:

Best Dark (How many of these do we have besides The Demon Inside?)
Best Mystery Fic (Do we even have any of these?)
Best Romance Fic (We have Kitt & Katt, and that's about it.)
Best Original Idea (Do we really need this if we already have Most Original Conncept and Most Original Character?)

And add these:

Best Yu-Gi-Oh! Fic (Trying to add another award to the shelf, eh Brian? )
A Blademaster Award (It's no fair that Andrew gets one and I don't, dammit! )

Maybe Best Dark and Best Mystery Fic should be changed to Best Dark/Mystery Plot/Element since last year TPML got nominated for best mystery due to a lot of the plot aspects (like who Hanadas mother was, who Liang was working for, and what and whose the monster was.)

Similarly the dark aspect can be applied to a lot of TPML. So if we change it to 'element' then I can sweep the awards a- Umm then it can include a lot of fics with elements of darkness and mystery.

This may be a stupid idea, but how about "Best Cameo"? It could be a character from the anime/manga/game/book that the fic originated, or it could be a character from someone else's fic.

Also for reference are the 2006 Golden Pens categories, where we replaced some of the ones from the last SPs; it worked out well, I thought.
