Simplicity

Round One is a simple 1-1 battle against your opponent. The arena is a plain indigo stadium with very short, fine grass in an open stadium. There is a large pond in the middle-left of the arena for a variety of water Pokemon.

There is no time limit for this battle. The winner will go on to Round 2: The ref will recieve 2 points and the loser will be eliminated. There are no banned moves whatsoever.

Okay, Nia, first use Stun Spore , follow it up by a Psychic and end with Confusion , try to stay higher up into the air, please. If he wants to throw rocks at you with some kind of rock attack, use Psychic to send as many of the rocks as you can back at him, and use Safeguard if he wants to try any Attract business.

It's a Psuedo status condition, much like Confusion - like you can be confused and paralyzed at the same time in the games. :/ Safeguard protects against confusion, so I've always assumed it's worked against attract, and I think it's that way in the game... o.0 but...

dodge the stun spore with agility, and then leap up into Butterfree (since it's ascending into the air) with a sky uppercut. Finish with a fire punch.

Nia flapped her wings powerfully as she was released from her golden Pokeball. A sweeping cloud of sticky spores wafted down at Ampharos, who raced left and right to dodge the attacks path. Nia watched her foe tear away and avoid paralysis. Floating in the air, she was unable to execute her attack before the Hitmonchan leapt up and struck her with a deadly uppercut. Nevertheless, despite reeling from the attack Nia's eyes glowed blue and she sent a torturous stab of psychic power into the foe.

Finally Ampharos sent curling flame into his gloves as he leapt up at Nia. He struck her with a flaming fist, causing good damage, but she retalliated with a surging blast of energy that hurtled him down into the ground.

SUBS:
If butterfree uses a flying type move, use counter.

If butterfree uses a status inflicting move such as stun spore, avoid with agility.

If butterfree relaxes for it's first action, or does any other non-combat move that isn't a status inflicter, hit it with a focus punch.

Begin the round with a mind reader to predict butterfree's first move, avoid it, and then surprise it with an accurate Rock Slide shortly after while it recouperates from a hopefully failed attack. Finish with a fire punch.

Ah, the attacks are different. X.X *goes to edit moveset* And your new moveset still confuses me, because you have 4 attacks after everything. because Mind Reader ~ Rockslide ~ Fire Punch when you also have Focus Punch. What triggers the mind reader?

Nia begins by blasting another psychic attack at Hitmonchan, grappling him tightly. Despite the pain, Hitmonchan analyses the foe...carefully plotting and thinking. It flaps quite evenly....wing span is above avarage....eyes are close together...yes...this will work...

He suddenly has a yen of understanding and knows exactly what Nia will do. Nothing. She relaxes calmly as he focuses on his next attack: rubbing his hands together and summoning up the strength to cause a rockslide. However, the serene, light-grass arena sat there peacefully. No rocks about. No rocks to slide.

Sighing, the Hitmonchan (named Ampharos...who else but Mega Horny would call their Hitmonchan Ampharos?) sent flames bursting up his fist. He raced through the air energetically, swinging his fist back and launching it at Nia...but a forcefield surrounding her stopped Ampharos in his tracks, causing him to waste nothing but energy.

All right, Nia, lets start off with a nice Confusion to batter his brain a bit, followed by a Psychic then a Psywave - if Hitmonchan tries to hit you with any of the elemental punches (Ice, Fire, Thunder), try to use the Psychic move you're currently using (or substitute Psywave for Psychic) to try and knock him over or off balance, to give you room to attempt to dodge. If he tries to do a direct status effect on you (Attract/Toxic) put up a Safeguard.

Ampharos the Hitmonchan glowed and managed to create a life-size replica that contained his own energy. Butterfree struck the decoy with a sharp psychic blast.

Next he charged up fantastic energy in his fist, racing along the arena as Butterfree launched a psychic attack right into the substitute, dealing equally effective damage. The decoy Hitmonchan staggered back as the real thing leapt up and smashed Butterfree hard.

He landed smugly, rubbing his gloved hands together as Nia tried blasting a wave of psy energy. It struck the decoy, dealing more damage, but as Hitmonchan tried summoning a rock slide attack, he seemingly forgot the situation last round.

I just hope Friggin' TBA or someone wins it, who already has a huge team.

Use counter if the opponent uses a powerful physical move. Use stone edge, then drain punch twice.

All right, use Teleport to avoid that Stone Edge. Teleport behind him and higher in the air - try to get out of his normal hitting range. If you don't feel you're out of range in the air, try to keep flying up - and if you get hit, you'll at least be quite a bit resistant to his move. So use Swift to finish that sub off, and hopefully Swift isn't classed as powerful to trigger the counter. Then, Psychic .

In a speeding run, Hitmonchan arched back his arm, exposing his elbow. He leapt up at Nia to deliver a painful jab with his elbow, but she dissapeared out of the way. Hitmonchan stumbled to the floor.

Nia re-emerged and flapped a blast of fantastic glimmering golden stars. They swept through the air and tore into the substitute, finally destroying it. Surprised, Nia sighed to herself. Hitmonchan leapt up and slammed hard into Nia - she was in range but recieved weak damage. Ampharos healed slightly. He repeated the action, not dealing much damage to the butterfly, who proceeded to strike him with a fantastic, dazzling blast of psychic energy.

The match was still going on. Honest. With superior speed Hitmonchan tore through the air, leaping up and delivering a perfect slice to Nia. She flapped back, her eyes glowing brightly as she wrangled and slammed Hitmonchan with the psychic attack. The frazzled Pokemon fell to the ground momentarily.

A frantic wave of testosterone washed over Hitmonchan and he repeated his previous attack, leaping up and slicing into Nia again. This time the Butterfree had a stronger attack ready and sent a fanatstic psychic blast straight into Hitmonchan. He flew backwards, roaring in agony as he prepared to strike for the third time.

Another slicing joust hit Nia and she screeched in agony, but retalliated promptly with a second large, psychic blast. Hitmonchan fell back, but was ready for more.
