ˇ¤ Mutant Slumber ¤ˇ
In the year 2120, the human genome was finally mapped out with every chromosome accounted for, every trait checked off, each chemical reaction was known for what it did. Just a year after this, in 2121, a company called Perfect Gen launched a program that enabled parents to choose the appearances of their children based upon their combined DNA, using the mapped-out discoveries of the scientists as mix-and-match blueprints. As this method gained popularity, it launched a wave of riots across the country as parents of "natural" children boycotted the "produced" children, saying they didn't want to have their kids exposed to the negativity created by the flawless individuals.
In the meanwhile, the government secretly used the mapped genome in a plan to create a perfect supersoldier, only created with the best of genes to aid him in battle. This technique was perfected, but around the year 2140, they tried something new, mixing human and animal DNA. After all, even a human with the best of eyesight is no match for the natural sniper-scope of a falcon or hawk. At first, the government used their own soldiers in order to keep the testing secret, but one mistrial after another made this too costly a method. It was then when they first began recruiting average people to volunteer to Do Something for Their Country, to Support the Cause.
It was then when the information of the government testing started to leak into the public. To cut down on the public knowledge, anyone found speaking of or giving information about the testing immediately cut off and put into Zero Sleep. (A popular method for dealing with incarcerated individuals so that they may be used later in time as guinea pigs. Zero Sleep is the instantaneous freezing of an individual to 0şKelvin, also called absolute zero, a temperature which freezes the very molecules into place.)
By the year 2145, thousands of individuals had gone "missing" due to the testing program. The government realized the people were beginning to suspect and blame them, so they announced publicly that North Korea was planning to attack and that they had developed the perfect weapon to combat those "commie bastards." The Splice program, as it was now called, met with public acclaim, and thousands of new test subjects poured in to help the cause.
The Splicing technology was still far from close to perfection. The subjects would not even survive the transmutation, leaving hundreds of twisted, warped figures that did not resemble any sort of creature.
The year 2150 had the first breakthroughs, test subjects O636, O692, and O693 of the Z-92 Batch introduced through the Omega machine yielded three successful splices of a human and cat, human and dog, and human and bird respectively. But the DNA of the human and animal had not settled, and one would try to dominate the other. In the end, it was always the animal that won, and the human body would undergo such strain that the three individuals died after only two days of exposure to the splicing.
The government then began Zero-freezing these individuals that showed signs of successful DNA combination. Also frozen were immediate family members in case they shared the same possibility of a successful splice once the technology was perfected.
In 2175, war broke out among the superpowers of the world. The US was defeated and most of its Splice labs destroyed; only a few zero-sleep chambers were left untouched, but forgotten by society.
And this brings us to the present..
The year is 4600. The world as we know it died out long ago during the Second Ice Age and the Fourth Reclamation. The planet is no longer owned by our species; instead, humans are more like beasts of burden used as slaves by the now-dominant Splices. The man in power is a most feared creature, called the Chancelor or the Father, ruling without mercy with an angry vendetta against the "worthless" humans.
The outlook for humankind looks very bleak. But in this year, the rogue group called, quite originally, The Rebellion, made its first move against the government-organized slave trade to make a stand. The Chancelor, wishing to silence this movement, organized a group of hell-bent hunters called The Army of the Father. The mounting tension between those that support the freedom of the humans versus those that wish to finally eradicate the pests causes the last strongholds of civilization to be torn in two.
In this fitful state is where you come in.
You are either a member of The Rebellion, or one of the family members of the test subjects after the Z-92 Batch, rescued by The Rebellion in the hopes of rekindling the spirit of the remaining human population, or one of the dwindling human population. Your object is to help the Rebellion successfully overthrow the government and find a way for Splices and humans to live in equality.
IN A NUTSHELL:
You're either a human or a half-animal trying to kill the big bad guy.

This is based on a story I have been working on. After coming to a somewhat standstill on where to go with it, I thought, "Lawl, RPG section will help me."
Therefore, know, if this goes far, I may more than likely borrow from what happens to use in my story. If this is the case, proper credit will be given where needed, don't you worry.
(Because yes, this is an assignment that I must finish the story by the end of the next schoolyear, and it will be published in a literary collection for my school. XD)

*Mixed-breeds are Splices that are not just mixed with one animal, they're like, a third human, elephant, and canary. They are looked down upon because Splices like to keep to their own species.

How to translate into the new language:
Hey guys.
The language I use for all the names of the characters, the weapons, the cities, etc, are in a language I originally designed for Chains of Dragons called Mupthos.
You can try translating yourself, but, for the sake of my sanity, I might make the final call on the name.

How to do it:
Take the word: Frog
Split it into two letters at a time: Fr og
Reverse the order of the letters: Rf go
Translate the letters: Jv ti
Put the word back together: Jvti
So Frog is Jvti in Mupthos. However, Jvti is very difficult to pronounce. This is where the extra vowels come in. You can add as many vowels to the word as you want, so long as you put a symbol after them to show that they are not really part of the word.
So now, Jvti becomes Jávéti, and thus is fully translated.

Notice how NhyuTájépy is a mouthful. So what I'd do is cut it down; since it's a name, it's not like it's going to affect anything.
So, I don't like that Nhyu, so it'll just be Tájépy.
This is similar to what I did with Khidav, as you'll notice, it translates back into 'sqwofy'.. The 'wof' is the only thing that bears resemblance for 'wolf'.
This is where Mupthos breaks from its Chains of Dragons style into the style used for Mutant Slumber: once translated, letters can be changed/moved/added without repercussions!
Just on names, though.
So if your character is a bird splice, and his name is Ozwáj (Bird), you can personalize it and make him, say, Lozwá, or Sozáj, etc.

Physically: Tall, looks to be athletic, though is somewhat scrawny. Shaggy, dark brown hair that hangs a little past his ears, deep blue eyes, pale skin.
Emotionally: Well, he's not emo, but he's not mister sunshine either. He's rather shy around girls, but when the moment matters, he's one of the ones who will gladly step up to lead and help the others. He is still very untrustworthy of Splices, but acknowledges they have to work together in order to make life better. However, he tries not to let this grudge show through.
History: His sister was subject O636 of the Z-92 Batch, the one successfully spliced with a cat. The family was allowed to visit her before the mutation failed and he, unfortunately, witnessed his sister go insane before lapsing into a coma. He slipped from the government's grasp and returned to a normal life for a while, but after another incident involving a classmate, they picked him up and, after realizing his blood relation, froze him in the hopes that he would make another successful test subject later.
Acquaintances: He knows most everyone at a glance, but doesn't really get close to too many people. (I'm open to any sort of friendships, guys.)
Animal and Attributes: Wolf. Eyes change into a deep black, elongated canines, soft gray, pointed wolf ears, paws for feet.

Gender: Male

Spliced With: Wolf
Physically: He has a tanned, muscled body, even if his clothes usually keep you from seeing it. He has two long, dark-gray wolf ears extending from his straight, shoulder-length raven hair. He has a matching gray tail, and sharp, pointed claws on his hands. When around humans, he wears a perpetual look of bemusement and curiosity (much like Arthur Weasley in a Wal-Mart).
Emotionally: Friendly and overly curious about humans. When troubled, however, he retreats back into himself and takes a lot of time to deliberate over things that seem to have easy solutions. Gets very angry and avoiding if you mention anything about the Father. Sometimes he doesn't understand human sentimentality, and therefore can come across as cold and heartless, even if he only means the best.
History: He grew up in a prominent family, his father the owner of a wealthy industry devoted to a technology that made temporary splices available to humans and mixed-breeds so they would blend in and not be discriminated against. It turns out, though, his father was only in it for the money. In his mid-teens, after witnessing him insulting and degrading an orphaned mixed-breed, Khidav disowned his family and swore to never become what his father became. When the Father was instated as High Chancellor, Khidav organized the Rebellion so that they could rise up against him and fight for equality.
